Concerning the stability problem of functional equations, we introduce a general （m, n）- Cauchy-Jensen functional equation and establish new theorems about the Hyers-Ulam stability of general （m, n）-Cauchy Jensen additive mappings in C^＊-algebras, which generalize the result＇s obtained for Cauchy-Jensen type additive mappings.

Background:Heat stress(HS)is one of the most important threats for the current poultry ***,many efforts have been made to ameliorate the adverse effect of HS on poultry production;however,physiological and molecular mechanisms pertaining to HS are still limited in ***,the objective of the current study was to investigate functional alterations based on individual and integrated transcriptomes in the liver and jejunal mucosa tissues of broiler chickens exposed to HS ***:Broiler chickens exposed to HS showed decreased growth performance and increased corticosterone concentrations in the *** the transcriptome analysis,the number of differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were identified in the liver and jejunal mucosa by HS *** the liver,genes related to amino acid oxidation,tryptophan metabolism,lipid metabolism,oxidative phosphorylation,and immune responses were altered by HS,which support the reason why heat-stressed poultry had decreased productive *** the jejunal mucosa,genes related to defense systems,glutathione metabolism,detoxification of xenobiotics,and immune responses were differently expressed by HS *** integrated transcriptome analysis with DEGs found in the liver and jejunal mucosa showed a considerable connectivity between the core nodes in the constructed networks,which includes glutathione metabolism,xenobiotic metabolism,carbon metabolism,and several amino acid ***:The core network analysis may indicate that increased requirement of energy and amino acids in the jejunal mucosa of broiler chickens exposed to HS conditions is likely compromised by increased oxidation and synthesis of amino acids in the ***,our results may provide comprehensive insights for molecular and metabolic alterations of broiler chickens raised under HS conditions,which can aid in the development of the novel strategies to ameliorate the negative effect of HS on poultry

An experimental investigation was carried out to study the energy absorption characteristics of thin-walled square tubes subjected to dynamic crushing by impact loading to develop the optimum structural members. Here, the controller is introduced to improve and control the absorbed energy of thin-walled square tubes in this paper. When the controller were used, the experimental results of crushing of square tubes controlled by the controller＇s elements showed a good candidate for a controllable energy absorption capability in impact crushing.

AIM:To assess the clinical significance and the prognostic value of preoperative serum carbohydrate antigen 19-9(CA 19-9)level in gastric ***:Between January 2005 and December2006,1960 patients underwent surgery for histologically confirmed gastric *** these,163 patients had elevated serum levels of CA 19-9 preoperatively,and1628 patients had normal serum levels of CA 19-9 *** this study,325 patients were selected from the group of 1628 patients by age,sex,and cancer stage to serve as *** significant differences in survival rates were calculated using the log-rank test.A P value less than 0.05 was considered statistically significant and was determined using SAS ***:The baseline characteristics showed some differences between the two groups with regard to *** survival(OS)in the elevated and nonelevated group was 37.90 and 68.67 mo,respectively(P<0.001).N stage(P=0.001)was a significant predictor of disease-free survival by multivariate ***,N stage(P<0.001),and the presence of peritoneal metastasis(P<0.001)remained independent factors in predicting OS by multivariate ***,preoperative serum CA 19-9 levels were significantly associated with OS in univariate(P=0.009)and multivariate(P=0.021)***:Serum CA 19-9 can be considered an independent prognostic factor in predicting OS in patients anticipating surgery for gastric cancer.

AIM:To investigate the efficacy of amitriptyline with proton pump inhibitor(PPI)for the treatment of functional chest pain(FCP).METHODS:This was a randomized,open-label trial investigating the addition of low dose amitriptyline(10 mg at bedtime)to a conventional dose of rabeprazole(20 mg/d)(group A,n = 20)vs a double-dose of rabeprazole(20 mg twice daily)(group B,n = 20)for patients with FCP whose symptoms were refractory to *** primary efficacy endpoints were assessed by global symptom score assessment and the total number of individuals with > 50% improvement in their symptom ***:The between-group difference in global symptom scores was statistically significant during the last week of treatment(overall mean difference;3.75 ± 0.31 vs 4.35 ± 0.29,the between-group difference;P 50%,whereas only 26.3% of patients in group B had a similar treatment response(70.6% vs 26.3%,P = 0.008).Specifically,patients in group A had a significantly greater improvement in the domains of body pain and general health perception than did patients in group B(52.37 ± 17.00 vs 41.32 ± 12.34,P = 0.031 and 47.95 ± 18.58 vs 31.84 ± 16.84,P = 0.01,respectively).CONCLUSION:Adding amitriptyline to a PPI was more effective than a double-dose of PPI in patients with FCP refractory to a conventional dose of PPI.

Two groups of coated conductor samples with different thicknesses of CeO2 cap layers deposited by pulsed laser deposition （PLD） under the same conditions have been studied. Of them, one group is of CeO2 films, which are deposited on stainless steel （SS） tapes coated by IBAD-YSZ （IBAD-YSZ/SS）, and the other group is of CeO2/YSZ/Y2O3 multilayers, which are deposited on NiW substrates by PLD for the fabrication of YBCO-coated conductor through the RABiTS approach. YBCO film is then deposited on the tops of both types of buffer layers by PLD. The effects of the thickness of the CeO2 film on the texture of the CeO2 film and the critical current density （Jc） of the YBCO film are analysed. For the case of CeO2 film on IBAD-YSZ/SS, there appears a self-epitaxy effect with increasing thickness of the CeO2 film. For CeO2/YSZ/Y2O3/NiW, in which the buffer layers are deposited by PLD, there occurs no self-epitaxy effect, and the optimal thickness of CeO2 is about 50 nm. The surface morphologies of the two groups of samples are examined by SEM.

The present study was conducted to test whether the dietary supplementation of β-mannanase affects amino acids(AA) digestibility,metabolizable energy(ME) contents of corn,wheat,soybean meal,distillers dried grains with solubles,and palm kernel meal(PKM),nutrient digestibility,and growth performance of *** Exp.1,22 cannulated pigs were used for 10 dietary treatments including 5 feed ingredients and 2 β-mannanase concentrations(0 and 0.5 g/kg of the diet) in 6 periods in an incomplete Latin square design to determine the AA and energy *** Exp.2,200 growing pigs were randomly allotted to 4 treatments with 2 nutrient levels(high and low) and 2 concentrations of β-mannanase(2×2 factorial arrangement) in 2 phases(phase 1,d 0 to 21;and phase 2,d 22 to 42).In Exp.1,β-mannanase increased the mean standardized ileal digestibility(SID) of AA in all feed *** amount of digestible energy was increased(P <0.05) in β-mannanase-treated *** fed β-mannanase showed a greater(P <0.05) digestibility of gross energy(GE).The feed-to-gain(F:G) ratio was improved(P <0.01) in pigs fed high-nutrient *** fed β-mannanase in the diets had greater(P <0.05) average daily gain and F:*** phase 2,the concentration of fecal ammonia was decreased(P <0.05) in pigs fed β-*** the 2 experiments,it can be concluded that β-mannanase increases the SID of AA,which has to be considered in balancing the rations.

Gynostemma(G.) pentaphyllum(Cucurbitaceae) contains various bioactive gypenosides. Ethanol extract from G. pentaphyllum(GP-EX) has been shown to have ameliorative effects on the death of dopaminergic neurons in animal models of Parkinson’s disease(PD) induced by 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine-and 6-hydroxydopamine. PD patients exhibit multiple symptoms, so PD-related research should combine neurotoxin models with genetic models. In the present study, we investigated the ameliorative effects of GP-EX, including gypenosides, on the cell death of dopaminergic neurons in the midbrain of A53 T α-synuclein transgenic mouse models of PD(A53 T). Both GP-EX and gypenosides at 50 mg/kg per day were orally administered to the A53 T mice for 20 weeks.α-Synuclein-immunopositive cells and α-synuclein phosphorylation were increased in the midbrain of A53 T mice, which was reduced following treatment with GP-EX. Treatment with GP-EX modulated the reduced phosphorylation of tyrosine hydroxylase, extracellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK1/2), Bcl-2-associated death promoter(Bad) at Ser112, and c-jun N-terminal kinase(JNK1/2) due to α-synuclein overexpression. In the A53 T group, GP-EX treatment prolonged the latency of the step-through passive avoidance test and shortened the transfer latency of the elevated plus maze test. Gypenosides treatment exhibited the effects and efficacy similar to those of GP-EX. Taken together, GP-EX, including gypenosides, has ameliorative effects on dopaminergic neuronal cell death due to the overexpression of α-synuclein by modulating ERK1/2, Bad at Ser112, and JNK1/2 signaling in the midbrain of A53 T mouse model of PD. Further studies are needed to investigate GP-EX as a treatment for neurodegenerative synucleinopathies, including PD. This study was approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of Chungbuk National University(approval No. CBNUA-956-16-01) on September 21, 2016.
