Mixed ions and electron conductors(MIECs)are an important family of electrocatalysts for electrochemical devices,such as reversible solid oxide cells,rechargeable metal-air batteries,and oxygen transport *** ionic and electronic transports in these materials play a key role in electrocatalytic *** in-depth fundamental understanding of the transport phenomena is critically needed to develop better *** this brief review,we introduced generic ionic and electronic transport theory based on irreversible thermodynamics and applied it to practical oxide-based materials with oxygen vacancies and electrons/holes as the predominant *** oxide systems,namely CeO_(2)-based and La CrO_(3)-based materials,are selected as case studies to illustrate the utility of the transport theory in predicting oxygen partial pressure distribution across MIECs,electrochemical electronic/ionic leakage currents,and the effects of external load current on the leakage currents.

We have applied point-contact spectroscopy(PCS) to investigate the nonmagnetic hidden order(HO) state of the skutterudite compound PrFe_(4)P_(12) with its transition temperature THO~6.5 K. Its point-contact conductance curves exhibit a reproducible gap structure in the HO state below THOand its temperature dependent gap magnitude follows a BCS-like mean-field behavior.A Fano-like conductance shape is observed to emerge below the coherence temperature of PrFe_(4)P_(12). In a magnetic field, the gap feature is gradually suppressed and evolves into a pronounced Fano peak, signaling the heavy fermion state and vividly demonstrating the competition between HO and the formation of heavy fermion states. Our results strongly suggest the itinerant characteristic of f electrons in PrFe_(4)P_(12), which constrains theoretical models to explain the HO mechanism.

The present study reports a systematic computational analysis of the performance of solid oxide metalair redox battery operated at 800 and 550 ℃ using a recently developed high-fidelity multiphysics *** sets of parameters are particularly investigated:(1) operational parameters including current density and depth of discharge;(2) performance parameters including the chemical reaction kinetic rate constant of the redox cycle unit and exchange current density of the regenerative solid oxide fuel *** two groups of parameters are particularly analyzed with the goal to achieve high specific energy and round trip efficiency for SOIARB operated at different operating temperatures.

We perform a detailed investigation of the new ＇breathing＇ pyrochlore compound LiInCr4O8 through Rh substi- tution with measurements of magnetic susceptibility, specific heat, and x-ray powder diffraction. The antiferro- magnetic phase of LiInCr4O8 is found to be slowly suppressed with increasing Rh, up to the critical concentration of x = 0.1 where the antiferromagnetic phase is still observed with the peak in specific heat Tp = 12.5 K, slightly lower than Tp =14.3 K for the x = 0 compound. From tile measurements of magnetization we also uncover evidence that substitution increases the amount of frustration. Comparisons are made with the LiGayIn1-yCr4O8 system as well as other frustrated pyrochlore-related materials and comparable amounts of frustration are found. The results of this work show that the engineered breathing pyrochlores present an important method to further understand the complex magnetism in frustrated systems.

Virtual materials screening approaches have proliferated in the past decade,driven by rapid advances in first-principles computational techniques,and machine-learning *** comparison,computationally driven materials synthesis screening is still in its infancy,and is mired by the challenges of data sparsity and data scarcity:Synthesis routes exist in a sparse,highdimensional parameter space that is difficult to optimize over directly,and,for some materials of interest,only scarce volumes of literature-reported syntheses are *** this article,we present a framework for suggesting quantitative synthesis parameters and potential driving factors for synthesis *** use a variational autoencoder to compress sparse synthesis representations into a lower dimensional space,which is found to improve the performance of machine-learning *** realize this screening framework even in cases where there are few literature data,we devise a novel data augmentation methodology that incorporates literature synthesis data from related materials *** apply this variational autoencoder framework to generate potential SrTiO_(3) synthesis parameter sets,propose driving factors for brookite TiO_(2) formation,and identify correlations between alkali-ion intercalation and MnO_(2) polymorph selection.

Flexible flowlines and risers have been increasingly used for deepwater and ultra-deepwater field applications,partially because of its low submerged weight and better dynamic characteristics comparing to rigid pipelines. The offshore installation of flowline may have advantages as well. However,it has special needs for the in-stallation aids,and it is challenging to install tie-in structures due to its low bending stiffness. This paper is to present some of the challenges during a recent flexible installation project with a total of more than 100 km flexible flowlines,and 24 in-line sleds/pipeline end termination(PLET) in water depth up to 1 300 m.

Riser VIV and its numerical simulation

This paper summarizes some of the typical riser vortex-induced vibration (VIV) problems in subsea oil and gas developments,and presents the corresponding computational fluid dynamics (CFD) time domain simulation results to address these problems. First,the CFD time domain simulation approach was applied to analyze the wake field behind a stationary cylinder and a vibrating cylinder. Then a vertical riser VIV response under uniform current was studied. The VIV response time histories revealed some valuable clues that could lead to explanation of the higher harmonics. After that,a vertical riser VIV response under shear current was investigated. A 3 000 ft (1 ft=0.304 8 m) water depth top tensioned riser was sized,and its VIV responses under uniform and shear current were studied. Then this paper continues to discuss one catenary flexible riser VIV response during normal lay. Last,the time domain simulation approach was applied to a partially submerged flexible jumper,to study the jumper VIV behavior,and dynamic motion envelopes. It was demonstrated that the time domain simulation approach is able to disclose details of the flow field,vortex shedding pattern,and riser dynamic behavior,and han-dle different types of risers under different type of currents.

制作了LSCF/GDC/8YSZ/NiO-8YSZ/NiO-3YSZ/NiO-8YSZ/8YSZ/GDC/LSCF中空全对称双阴极阳极支撑平板式固体氧化物燃料电池（SOFC）,研究了其在稀薄燃料气氛下的电化学特性。结果表明：该结构电池在稀薄燃料气氛下稳定循环放电11次后依然保持稳定,在纯N2气氛下电池的最大输出功率密度可达8.79 mW/cm^2。该结构电池中Ni与NiO所形成的氧化还原不仅对电池性能无影响,并且还能够作为储能媒介,为后续发展以电池阳极金属作为储能介质的高温固态电池提供了可能。
