Dear Editor,Despite the substantial body of evidence describing the alternations in and impact of hormones after treatment of unilateral testicular germ cell tumors(gCTs),only a few studies have examined hormone levels before radical orchiectomy.1 This letter details our investigation of the relationship between preorchiectomy hormone levels and surgical pathology,clinical stage,and tumor size among patients with *** in gCT presentation were expected based on varying preorchiectomy hormone levels.

Flash floods are the highest sediment transporting agent,but are inaccessible for in-situ sampling and have rarely been analyzed by remote sensing *** and field experiments were done to develop linear spectral unmixing(LSU) remote sensing model and evaluate its performance in simulating the suspended sediment concentration(SSC) in flash *** models were developed from continuous monitoring in the laboratory and the onsite spectral signature of river bed sediment deposits and flash floods in the Tekeze River and in its tributary,the Tsirare *** Pearson correlation coefficient was used to determine the variability of correlations between reflectance and *** coefficient of determination(R2) and root mean square of error(RMSE) were used to evaluate the performance of the generated *** results found that the Pearson correlation coefficient between SSCs and reflectance varied based on the level of the SSCs,g.ological colors,and grain *** performance of the LSU model and empirical remote sensing approaches were computed to be R2=0.92,and RMSE=±0.76 g/1 in the Tsirare River and R2=0.91,and RMSE=±0.73 g/1 in the Tekeze River and R2=0.81,RMSE=±2.65 g/l in the Tsirare river and R2=0.76,RMSE=±10.87 g/l in the Tekeze River,***,the LSU approach of remote sensing was found to be relatively accurate in monitoring and modeling the variability of SSCs that could be applied to the upper Tekeze River basin.

影响评价在全球能源转型中发挥重要作用,为识别与管理可再生能源项目影响提供理论知识。然而,对于影响评价工作在可再生能源开发方面的实际成效一直存在争议。本文基于对加拿大风能发展影响评价应用的内容分析,探讨分析了风能项目中通常评估的环境和社会影响以及提出的缓解方案。结果显示,包括缓解措施在内,生物物理影响与社会影响之间存在着相当大的不平衡。相比于社会影响,影响评价在生物物理影响方面包含更多的解决办法,其影响与缓解办法的比率为1∶4.3,而社会影响方面仅为1∶1.3。大多数缓解办法侧重于最大限度地减少影响,其次是避免影响,而在时间、实施方法和责任方面描述并不清晰。尽管存在共同影响,但跨项目的缓解措施过于模糊或不精确,无法支持评估中的可转移实践,无法提高效率。改进对可再生能源项目影响和缓解方案的理解,并不断在项目中积累经验,是推进影响评价在向可再生能源过渡中发挥作用的基础。

A new method for face detection in colour images for emotional bio-robots

Emotional bio-robots have become a hot research topic in last two decades. Though there have been some progress in research, design and development of various emotional bio-robots, few of them can be used in practical applications. The study of emotional bio-robots demands multi-disciplinary co-operation. It involves computer science, artificial intelligence, 3D computation, engineering system modelling, analysis and simulation, bionics engineering, automatic control, image processing and pattern recognition etc. Among them, face detection belongs to image processing and pattern recognition. An emotional robot must have the ability to recognize various objects, particularly, it is very important for a bio-robot to be able to recognize human faces from an image. In this paper, a face detection method is proposed for identifying any human faces in colour images using human skin model and eye detection method. Firstly, this method can be used to detect skin reg.ons from the input colour image after normalizing its luminance. Then, all face candidates are identified using an eye detection method. Comparing with existing algorithms, this method only relies on the colour and g.ometrical data of human face rather than using training datasets. From experimental results, it is shown that this method is effective and fast and it can be applied to the development of an emotional bio-robot with further improvements of its speed and accuracy.

Aquaponics is a fish-plant recirculating system where nutrients received from the fish culture are absorbed by the plants for *** technology is relatively new for fish culture in Kenya,and the principles and operations remain largely untested for many fish *** study determined how stocking density affects the g.owth performance and water quality in a Nile tilapia-lettuce(Lactuca sativa)aquaponics *** experimental design included five replicates for each of the aquaponic systems stocked at densities of 150,300,and 450 fish/m^(3) for a rearing period of 56 *** treatment had a planting density of 16 lettuce/*** water quality parameters ranges during the rearing period were 3.83-5.35 mg/L for dissolved oxygen,7.44 to 7.6 for pH,0.014 mg/L to 0.032 mg/L for total ammonium nitrate(TAN),1.11-1.34 mg/L for nitrate,and 0.01-0.08 mg/L for nitrite,and all decreased with increasing stocking *** final weight of fingerlings was 25.2±4.2 g,32.0±3.8 g and 42.6±3.1 g for 450,300,and 150 fish/m^(3) *** g.owth rate(SgR)was reduced with increasing stocking density whereas food conversion ratio(FCR)increased with stocking *** systems with the lowest stocking densities performed better than 300 and 450 fish/m^(3) respectively.

本文基于2014年、2016年和2018年中国家庭追踪调查(CFPS)数据,采用包括工具变量法在内的多种内生性处理方法,实证研究隔代照料与农村育龄女性非农就业的因果效应。研究发现:提供隔代照料总体上有助于农村育龄女性非农劳动参与率提升28.2%、平均每周非农劳动时间延长14.52个小时。异质性分析发现,隔代照料对年龄在30~39岁、初中学历的农村育龄女性的影响效应最大;较“离土型”农村育龄女性而言,隔代照料对“离乡型”农村育龄女性非农就业的积极作用更大;隔代照料对农村育龄女性非农就业的影响效应随儿童年龄的增长显著降低,对有0~2岁学龄前儿童的农村育龄女性非农就业的正向影响最显著;隔代照料对东部地区的农村育龄女性非农就业的影响效应最大,西部次之。据此,本文提出鼓励家庭支持体系构建和婴幼儿托育服务发展并行、依据不同女性群体特点完善女性就业保护制度以减轻农村女性幼儿照料负担的政策建议。
