Background:data of living-donor liver transplantation(LdLT)suggested that donor ductal anomaly may contribute to postoperative biliary complications in recipients and in *** retrospective study aimed to determine if the occurrence of postoperative biliary stricture in donors or recipients in rightlobe LdLT(RLdLT)is related to donor biliary anatomy ***:We analyzed our RLdLT recipients’clinical data and those of their graft *** recipients were divided into 2 groups:with and without postoperative biliary *** 2 groups were *** primary endpoints were donor biliary anatomy type and postoperative biliary complication incidence;the secondary endpoints were 1-,3-and 5-year graft and patient survival ***:Totally 127 patients were included in the study;25(19.7%)of them developed biliary anastomotic *** these 25 patients,16 had type A biliary anatomy,3 had type B,2 had type C,3 had type d,and 1 had type *** the 127 donors,96(75.6%)had type A biliary anatomy,13(10.2%)had type B,6(4.7%)had type C,10(7.9%)had type d,and 2(1.6%)had type *** stricture was seen in 2 donors,who had type A biliary *** of the recipients or donors developed bile *** association between the occurrence of postoperative biliary stricture and donor biliary anatomy type was found(P=0.527).Conclusions:The incidence of biliary stricture in donors or recipients after RLdLT was not related to donor biliary anatomy *** postoperative complications were similar in whatever type of donor bile duct anatomy,donor ductal anomaly should not be considered a contraindication to donation of right liver lobe.

AIM To investigate the impact of alpha-fetoprotein(AFP) on long-term recurrence rate and overall survival and we also aimed to define the level of AFP leading to a higher risk of disease recurrence and affecting patient *** data of adult patients who received liver transplant(LT) for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) at our hospital from January 2000 to december 2013 were reviewed. Reviewed data included demographic characteristics, preoperative AFP level, operative details, follow-up details, and survival outcomes. Patients were mostly listed for LT based on Milan or UCSF criteria. For the purpose of this study, normal AFP level was defined as AFP value defined as AFP value ≥ 10 to d very highAFP level was defined as AFP ≥ 400 ng/m L. The patients were divided into these 3 groups accordingly. Survival rates were plotted as Kaplan-Meier curves and compared by log-rank analysis. Continuous variables were expressed as median(interquartile range). Categorical variables were compared by Spearman's test. discriminative analysis was used to define the lowest value of AFP that could affect the overall survival in study population. Statistical significance was defined by a P value of dult patients underwent LT for HCC in the study period. Eight-four of them received deceaseddonor LT and 166 had living-donor LT. The patients were divided into 3 groups: Group A, AFP d cirrhosis. The Model for End-stage Liver disease scores in these groups were similar(median, 13 vs 13 vs 12; P = 0.745). The time to operation in Group A was longer(median, 94 vs 31 vs 35 d; P = 0.001). The groups were similar in hospital mortality(P = 0.626) and postoperative complication(P = 0.702). A palaeomagnetic and geochronologic investigation has been carried out on a sequence of 19 lava flows at Sihetun in northeastern *** determinations by K/Ar dating indicate that the sequence spans 124-133 Ma,that is,the time just prior to Cretaceous normal superchron(CNS).Rock magnetic measurements of thermomagnetic curves and hysteresis loops show the primary carrier of remanence to be pseudo-single domain *** thermal demagnetization successfully isolated a well-defined direction of characteristic magnetization(ChRM) in all the *** mean palaeodirection determined is d/I = 5.4°/58.7°(α= 2.4°) and d/I = 175.9°/-60.0°(α = 6.4°) for 15 normally magnetized flows and 3 reversely magnetized flows,*** lava was found to possess an intermediate direction of *** inferred palaeolatitude of the sampling site is very similar to the present-day position,supporting the contention that suturing between the Mongolia and north China plates was probably completed by the Late Jurassic,and that subsequently little rotation or translation occurred in the region west of the Tanlu fault ***-Thellier palaeointensity experiments with systematic partial thermoremanent magnetization(pTRM) checks were conducted on 66 samples from 13 lava *** from the 29 samples(44%) which met strict reliability criteria indicate a range of virtual dipole moments(VdMs) from 2.83 to 4.17×10 A m with an average of(3.53±0.02)×10 A *** finding helps confirm that a weak geomagnetic field probably occurred just prior to the CNS.

对全世界范围分布的菝葜科Smilacaceae的79个代表种(包括了全部的属和组), 以分布于南美洲的Philesia Comm. ex Juss.和Lapageria Ruiz & Pav.属为外类群, 选取包括花粉和染色体性状在内的47个广义的形态学性状进行了分支分类系统发育分析, 同时以表征分类的方法构建了距离树(NJ)辅助分析, 首次对世界分布的菝葜科各属间及属内的系统发育关系作了探讨。(1)Ripogonum与菝葜属Smilax +肖菝葜属Heterosmilax互为姐妹群, 但是距离较远, 支持将类菝葜属(新拟中文名)Ripogonum独立为科的观点; (2)肖菝葜属在菝葜科内处于较为进化的分支上, 并与菝葜属土茯苓组sect. Coilanthus的部分种组成一个具较高支持率(88%)的单系分支, 分析表明肖菝葜属并非是一个好属, 应归入菝葜属; (3)菝葜属6个组的划分大都没有得到支持, 只有东亚北美间断分布的草本菝葜组sect. Nemexia的单系得到很好的支持(93%); (4)分布于南美洲巴西的种类聚为一个单系类群, 表明它们可能有共同的起源, 但由于取样局限, 南美洲种类的系统地位有待进一步研究。

Background and Aims:Intra-abdominal visceral fat accumulation and patatin-like phospholipase domain containing 3(PNPLA3)rs738409 G/C gene polymorphism confer a greater susceptibility to nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLd).We examined whether the relationship between visceral fat accumulation and liver disease severity may be influenced by PNPLA3 rs738409 ***:The variant of PNPLA3 rs738409 was genotyped within 523 Han individuals with biopsy-confirmed *** fat area(VFA)was measured by bioelectrical *** liver fibrosis(SF),defined as stage F≥2 on histology,was the outcome measure of ***:The distribution of PNPLA3 genotypes was CC:27.5%,CG:48.2%,and GG:24.3%.Higher VFA was associated with greater risk of having SF(adjusted-odds ratio[OR]:1.03;95%confidence interval[CI]:1.02–1.04,pdependent of potential *** subjects with the same VFA level,the risk of SF was greater among carriers of the rs738409 G genotype than among those who did *** analysis showed that PNPLA3 rs738409 significantly influenced the association between VFA and *** remained significantly associated with SF only among the rs738409 G-allele carriers(adjusted-OR:1.05;95%CI:1.03–1.08 for the GG group;and adjusted-OR:1.03;95%CI:1.01–1.04 for the GC group).There was a significant interaction between VFA and PNPLA3 rs738409 genotype(Pinteraction=0.004).Conclusions:PNPLA3 rs738409 G allele has a moderate effect on the association between VFA and risk of SF in adult individuals with biopsy-proven *** of the PNPLA3 rs738409 G allele and VFA interact to increase risk of SF。

BACKGROUNd Magnetically controlled growing rods(MCGR) are a novel treatment option for early onset scoliosis(EOS). Although the complication profile with MCGR use has been reviewed, these reviews do not take into account important implants modifications, termed iterations, that were made due to early on postoperative complications is not well reported or *** To assess the effect of MCGR implant iterations on post-operative complications in *** A systematic review was performed to identify studies investigating MCGR specifically for the treatment of EOS, refined to those reporting the implant iteration, specifically the incorporation of the keeper plate to the implant *** with mixed implant iteration usage were excluded. Complications following surgery were recorded as well as potential risk factors and compared between implant *** Although 20 articles were identified for inclusion, 5 included mixed implant iteration leaving a total of 271 patients identified through 15 clinical studies thatmet inclusion criteria. The average follow-up was 25.4-mo. Pre-keeper plate implants were utilized in 3 studies with a total of 49 patients. Overall, 115(42.4%)post-operative complications were identified, with 87% defined as major. The addition of the keeper plate significantly decreased the rate of post-operative complications per study(35.7% vs 80.6%, P = 0.036), and the rate of distraction failure(8.1% vs 40.8%, P = 0.02). Unplanned reoperation occurred in 69(26.7%)patients but was not different between implant iteration cohorts(25.5% without keeper plate vs 27.1% with keeper plate, P = 0.92).CONCLUSION MCGR for EOS has a cumulative complication rate of 42.4% but this is significantly reduced to 35.7% when reviewing only keeper-plate enabled implants. However, 25% of published articles included mixed implant *** studies should discern between implants iterations when reporting on the usage of MCGR for EOS.

Ca^(2+) signaling is critical for heart development;however,the precise roles and regulatory pathways of Ca^(2+) transport proteins in cardiogenesis remain largely ***-calcium exchanger 1(Ncx1)is responsible for Ca^(2+) efflux in *** is involved in cardiogenesis,while the mechanism is ***,using the forward genetic screening in zebrafish,we identified a novel mutation at a highly-conserved leucine residue in ncx1 gene(mutant^(Ldd353)/ncx1h^(L154P))that led to smaller hearts with reduced heart rate and weak ***,the number of ventricular but not atrial cardiomyocytes was reduced in ncx1h^(L154P) *** defects were mimicked by knockdown or knockout of ***,ncx1h^(L154P) had cytosolic and mitochondrial Ca^(2+) overloading and Ca^(2+) transient suppression in ***,ncx1h^(L154P) and ncx1h morphants downregulated cardiac transcription factors hand2 and gata4 in the cardiac regions,while overexpression of hand2 and gata4 partially rescued cardiac defects including the number of ventricular *** findings demonstrate an essential role of the novel 154th leucine residue in the maintenance of Ncx1 function in zebrafish,and reveal previous unrecognized critical roles of the 154th leucine residue and Ncx1 in the formation of ventricular cardiomyocytes by at least partially regulating the expression levels of gata4 and hand2.
