目的:通过孕期持续摄取乙醇母鼠体内注入甲状腺素,观察母体接受外源性甲状腺素时能否改善胎儿乙醇综合征引起的脑损伤。方法:实验于2003-09/2004-08在韩国朝鲜大学神经解剖实验室完成。选择SD母鼠36只,于怀孕第6天随机数字表法分为乙醇组(n=6),每日摄取22%乙醇20mL(热量为147J);正常对照组(n=6),每日摄取糊精(日本)35mL(热量为147J);乙醇+6.5mol/L甲状腺素(T4,Sigma)组(n=6),每日摄取22%乙醇20mL(热量为147J),并每日在颈后皮下注入T4(5μg/kg);代理母组(n=18),正常摄取食物。乙醇组、正常对照组、乙醇+T4组母鼠分娩6h后,与其子鼠分开,麻醉后心脏采血,由韩国朝鲜大学医院检验室测试血中乙醇浓度和T4含量,并以Kruskal-Wallistest分析。3组新生子鼠由代理母组的代理母鼠养育,分别于生后0,7,14,21,28d时麻醉处死,采用免疫组织化学染色法,在大脑皮质中观察含有神经肽Y的神经细胞的分布及形态,并在大脑皮质的Ⅴ,Ⅵ层中测单位面积含有神经肽Y的神经细胞数。结果:纳入母鼠18只及其所生的子鼠90只均进入结果分析。①乙醇+T4组大鼠生后14d始出现分布及形态与正常对照组类似的成熟的含有神经肽Y神经细胞,即可观察到长而明显突起的、双极或多极的神经细胞突起所形成的分支以及其相互间的连接,乙醇组大鼠始终未出现具有上述表现的成熟的含有经肽Y神经细胞。②乙醇组、乙醇+T4组乙醇浓度高于正常对照组,差异显著[分别为(0.015±0.006)%,(0.012±0.005)%,0,P=0.014];乙醇+T4组T4含量高于乙醇组,差异显著[分别为(33±6),(22±4)μg/L,P=0.022]。③乙醇组含有的神经肽Y神经细胞数,在生后各年龄阶段中均较正常对照组明显减少,并于生后14d开始出现差异显著[分别为(16.3±1.3),(27.8±1.0)个/cm2,P0.05),乙醇+T4组含有神经肽Y的神经细胞数在生后7d时高于乙醇组,差异显著[分别为(14.2±1.7),(8.5±0.9)个/cm2,P<0.05],生后14d开始出现差异非常显著[分别为(28.7±1.1),(16.3±1.3)个/cm2,P<0.0001]。结论:孕期滥用乙醇的母体接受外源性甲状腺素时,能促进其后代生后早期大脑皮质中神经肽Y的合成,促进含有神经肽Y的神经细胞的发育,进而能够改善胎儿乙醇综合征等降低甲状腺素所引起的脑发育障碍。

Second to fourth digit ratio： a predictor of adult lung function

Sex and sex hormones play a major role in lung physiology. It has been proposed that the ratio of the second to fourth digits （digit ratio） is correlated with fetal sex hormones. We therefore hypothesized that digit ratio might help predict lung function. We investigated the relationship between digit ratio and pulmonary function test （PFT） findings. A total of 245 South Korean patients （162 male, 83 female） aged from 34 to 90 years who were hospitalized for urological surgery were prospectively enrolled. Before administering the PFTs, the lengths of the second and fourth digits of the right hand were measured by a single investigator using a digital Vernier caliper. In males （n = 162）, univariate and multivariate analysis using linear regression models showed that digit ratio was a significant predictive factor of forced vital capacity （FVC） and forced expiratory volume in I second （FEV1）（FVC： r = 0.156, P = 0.047; FEVI： r = 0.160, P = 0.042）. In male ever-smokers （n = 69）, lung functions （FVC and FEV1） were correlated with smoking exposure rather than digit ratio. In female never-smokers （n = 83）, lung functions （FEV1 and FEVI/FVC ratio） were positively correlated with digit ratio on univariate analysis （FEVI： r = 0.242, P = 0.027; FEVI/FVC ratio： r = 0.245, P = 0.026）. Patients with lower digit ratios tend to have decreased lung function. These results suggest that digit ratio is a predictor of airway function.

In a strip winding process,the sleeve is a hollow cylinder that is mounted between a strip coil and a mandrel to maintain uniform coil shape when the strip coil is very thin,but its deformation behavior has not been investigated ***,a finite element（FE）model was presented to calculate the stress distribution in a sleeve and strip coil when 1-3mm-thick stainless steel was wound around the *** FE model was developed by extending aprevious model by adding a sleeve between the mandrel and strip,and by modifying the boundary and interaction *** strip winding process was divided into an initial process and a steady-state *** the initial process,the minimum and maximum pressure required on the belt wrapper to maintain coil shape by self-friction of the strip was calculated by the FE model when the belt wrapper is ejected at the end of the initial *** the initial process,an analytical model of the steady-state process was established to calculate the stress distribution and was compared with the FE model to validate *** suggested analytical model took 11 sto give the same stress distribution that the FE model took 30 dto produce.

Objective:To study the effect of Liuwei Dihuang Decoction(六味地黄汤)or Yukmijihwangtang(YJT)on endurance exercise by in vivo ***:ICR mice were randomly divided into the control group(distilled water)and the YJT groups(1,10,100 mg/kg),5 animals per *** and distilled water were orally *** anti-fatigue effect of YJT was evaluated by open fifiled test(OFT),forced swimming test(FST),and tail suspension test(TST).Results:In the OFT,YJT signifificantly increased the total movement distance in a dose-dependent ***,treatment with YJT signifificantly decreased immobility time in the FST and the *** neurotransmitters such as norepinephrine(NE),serotonin(5-HT),dopamine(DA)levels were increased by *** of YJT down-regulated the expression levels of NE,5-HT,5-hydroxyindole-acetic acid(5-HIAA),and DA in the brain stem and hypothalamus of ***,protein expression of HSP70 in mice liver and heart muscles was signifificantly increased in the YJT ***:YJT could ameliorate fatigue and enhance exercise tolerance through suppressing of brain monoamines including NE,5-HT,5-HIAA,and DA in FST mice model.

Foreign bodies in the colon are encountered with increasing frequency, but only sporadic reports concerning their management have appeared in the literature. While most ingested foreign bodies usually pass through the gastrointestinal tract uneventfully, sharp foreign bodies such as toothpicks infrequently cause intestinal perforation and may even result in death. We report our experience with a patient with a sigmoid colon pseudodiverticulum formation, a complication of accidental ingestion of a toothpick that was diagnosed and successfully managed colonoscopically.

Three pumpkin species Cucurbita maxima,***,and *** are commonly cultivated *** identify genome-wide SNPs in these cultivated pumpkin species,we collected 48 F1 cultivars consisting of 40 intraspecific hybrids(15 ***,18 ***,and 7 ***)and 8 interspecific hybrids(*** x ***).Genotyping by sequencing identified a total of 37,869 confident SNPs in this *** SNPs were filtered to generate a subset of 400 SNPs based on polymorphism and genome *** the 400 SNPs,288 were used to genotype an additional 188 accessions(94 F1 cultivars,50 breeding lines,and 44 landraces)with a SNP array-based *** polymorphisms were observed in 224 SNPs(78.0%)and were used to assess genetic variations between and within the four predefined populations in 223 cultivated pumpkin *** principal component analysis and UPGMA clustering found four major clusters representing three pumpkin species and interspecific *** genetic differentiation was supported by pairwise Fst and Nei’s genetic *** interspecific hybrids showed a higher level of genetic diversity relative to the other three *** the 224 SNPs,five subsets of 192,96,48,24,and 12 markers were evaluated for variety *** 192,96,and 48 marker sets identified 204(91.5%),190(85.2%),and 141(63.2%)of the 223 accessions,respectively,while other subsets showed<25%of variety identification *** SNP markers provide a molecular tool with many applications for genetics and breeding in cultivated pumpkin.

Background Sixty-five percent of children worldwide lack access to surgical care,the majority of whom live in low-income and middle-income countries(LMiCs).Developing surgical infrastructure requires information on surgical need;however,this information is often limited in *** Korea(Democratic People's Republic of Korea,DPRK)has a low amount of publicly available ***,we analyzed available modeled data to understand the causes of pediatric deaths due to conditions treatable with surgery in *** We used World Bank data and models from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation to identify causes of pediatric deaths affecting pediatric patients(age<20 years).We compared mortality of disease between DPRK and countries with similar economic *** Between 1990 and 2019,the number of overall pediatric deaths has *** 2019,32.2%of allpediatric deaths in DPRK were caused by surgical *** leading categories of surgical conditions were injuries(53.9%),congenital conditions(34.2%),tumors(8.8%),and abdominal conditions(3.2%).DPRK has a lower relative rate of pediatric deaths compared with other LMICs with similar gross domestic product per ***,it has a higher relative rate of pediatric deaths due to conditions requiring treatment with *** injuries contribute significantly to the high rate of pediatric deaths in *** Although DPRK may be allocating overall resources toward pediatric healthcare more efficiently than economic peers,DPRK may benefit from improvement in pediatric surgical *** availability of data and close international collaboration could be potential solutions to bridge this gap.

BACKGROUND： Bilateral stent-in-stent （SIS） self-expandable metal stent placement is technically chghallenging for palliation of unresectable malignant hilar obstruction. In the SIS technique, the uniform large cell type biliary stent facilitates contralateral stent deployment through the mesh of the first metallic stent. This study aimed to assess the technical success and clinical effectiveness of this technique with a uniform large cell type biliary stent. METHODS： Thirty-one patients who underwentlbilateral SIS placement using a large cell type stent were reviewed retrospectively. All patients showed malignant hilarl obstruction （Bismuth types Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ） with different etiologies. RESULTS： Sixteen （51.6%） patients were male. The mean age of the patients was 67.0±14.0 years. Most patients were diagnosed as having hilar cholangiocarcinoma （58.1%） and gallbladder cancer （29.0%）. Technical success rate was 83.9%. Success was achieved more frequently in patients without masses obstructing the biliary confluence （MOC） than those with MOC （95.2% vs 60.0%, P=0.03）. Functional success rate was 77.4%. Complications occurred in 29.0% of the patients. These tended to occur more frequently in patients with MOC （50.0% vs 19.0%, P=0.11）. Median time to recurrent biliary obstruction was 188 days and median survival was 175 days. CONCLUSIONS： The large cell type stent can be used efficiently for bilateral SIS placement in malignant hilar obstruction. However, the risk of technical failure increases in patients with MOC, and caution is needed to prevent complications for these patients.
