Numerical modeling and Technico-Economic Analysis of a Hybrid Energy Production System for Self-Consumption: Case of Rural Area in the Comoros

This study aims to provide electricity to a remote village in the Union of Comoros that has been affected by energy problems for over 40 years. The study uses a 50 kW diesel generator, a 10 kW wind turbine, 1500 kW photovoltaic solar panels, a converter, and storage batteries as the proposed sources. The main objective of this study is to conduct a detailed analysis and optimization of a hybrid diesel and renewable energy system to meet the electricity demand of a remote area village of 800 to 1500 inhabitants located in the north of Ngazidja Island in Comoros. The study uses the Hybrid Optimization model for Electric Renewable (HOmER) Pro to conduct simulations and optimize the analysis using meteorological data from Comoros. The results show that hybrid combination is more profitable in terms of margin on economic cost with a less expensive investment. With a diesel cost of $1/L, an average wind speed of 5.09 m/s and a solar irradiation value of 6.14 kWh/m2/day, the system works well with a proportion of renewable energy production of 99.44% with an emission quantity of 1311.407 kg/year. 99.2% of the production comes from renewable sources with an estimated energy surplus of 2,125,344 kWh/year with the cost of electricity (COE) estimated at $0.18/kWh, presenting a cost-effective alternative compared to current market rates. These results present better optimization of the used hybrid energy system, satisfying energy demand and reducing the environmental impact.

In mali, cholesteatoma surgery remains a challenge due to the limited number of otological practitioners, and the low socio-economic level of patients reflecting the difficulties in performing CT or mRI for post-operative follow-up. We therefore initiated this work with the objective of analyzing, through a broad bibliographic review, the clinical, paraclinical, topographical, therapeutic and progressive aspects of a series of ear cholesteatoma. materials and method: This was a retrospective and prospective, descriptive study that took place in the ENT and head and neck surgery department of the Gabriel Touré University Hospital over 36 months from November 2020 to October 2023. These were patients admitted to the department for chronic cholestematous otitis media. Result: In total, we collected 34 files of patients admitted for cholesteatoma. This represented 9% of cases compared to all otological surgeries carried out during the same period, i.e. 362 cases. The average age of our patients was 35.31 years, with extremes ranging from 7 years to 80 years, there were 24 men and 10 women, i.e. a m/F ratio of 2.4. The average time to diagnosis was 7 years. The main functional signs were dominated by chronic fetid purulent otorrhea associated with hypoacusis in 94.6% of cases. One case of meningeal complication and three cases of cerebral empyema were reported. Clinically, a postero-superior and marginal tympanic perforation was observed in 53%, a retraction pocket in 5.9%, the sentinel polyp in 9%, and a non-marginal tympanic perforation in 32%. Pure-tone audiometry performed preoperatively for all patients showed conductive hearing loss in 83%. In 82% of cases we created a recess with the creation of a mini box. An ossiculoplasty was performed immediately with fragments of cartilage. The postoperative course found the disappearance of otorrhea (88.23%), the persistence of otorrhea in one case, two cases of facial paralysis, and one case of tinnitus. We did not identify

This work investigates the steam condensation phenomena in an air-cooled *** considered horizontal flattened tube has a 30 mm hydraulic diameter,and its length is a function of the steam quality with a limit value between 0.95 and *** mass flow rate ranges from 4 to 40 kg/m^(2).s with a saturated temperature spanning an interval from 40°C to 80°C.A special approach has been implemented using the Engineering Equation Solver(EES)to solve a series of equations for the two-phase flow pattern and the related heat transfer coefficients.A wavy-stratified structure of the two-phase flow has been found when the mass rate was between 4 and 24 kg/m^(2).*** contrast,an initially annular flow is gradually converted into a wavy stratified flow(due to the condensation process taking place inside the flattened tube)when the considered range ranges from 32 to 40 kg/m^(2).s.

In this paper, we are concerned with a fractional differential inequality containing a lower order fractional derivative and a polynomial source term in the right hand side. A non-existence of non-trivial global solutions result is proved in an appropriate space by means of the test-function method. The range of blow up is found to depend only on the lower order derivative. This is in line with the well-known fact for an internally weakly damped wave equation that solutions will converge to solutions of the parabolic part.

This study investigated the use of recycled tire-derived aggregate(TDA)mixed with kaolin as a method of increasing the ultimate bearing capacity(UBC)of a strip *** 1g physical modeling tests were prepared in a rigid box of 0.6 m×0.9 m in plan and 0.6 m in *** sample preparation,0%,20%,40%,or 60%(by weight)of powdery,shredded,small-sized granular(G 1–4 mm)or large-sized granular(G 5–8 mm)TDA was mixed with the kaolin.A strip footing was then placed on the stabilized kaolin and was caused to fail under stress-controlled conditions to determine the UBC.A rigorous 3D finite element analysis was developed in Optum G-3 to determine the UBC values based on the experimental test *** experimental results showed that,except for the 20%powdery TDA,the TDA showed an increase in the UBC of the strip *** kaolin mixed with 20%G(5–8 mm),the UBC showed a threefold increase over that for the unreinforced *** test with 20%G(1–4 mm)recorded the highest subgrade *** was observed that the UBC calculated using finite element modeling overestimated the experimental UBC by an average of 9%.

A novel 1× 2 multimode interference photonics switch structure based on thermal controlling effect is proposed. A ridge waveguide of photosensitive polymer, benzocyclobutene （BCB 4024-40） on silica clad is used as a design structure. A temperature changes as a result of electrode heating are analysed by employing a two-dimensional finite difference thermal model considering both conduction and convection mechanisms. The switching characteristics due to changes in effective index are analysed by the two-dimensional finite difference beam propagation method with transparent boundary condition. The proposed structure works well with low crosstalk level of -28 dB and low switching power relatively to the structural upper cladding thickness.

Purpose-The purpose of this paper is to proposes a forward search algorithm for detecting and identifying natural structures arising in human-computer interaction(HCI)and human physiological response(HPR)***/methodology/approach-The paper portrays aspects that are essential to modelling and precision in *** methods involves developed algorithm for detecting outliers in data to recognise natural patterns in incessant data such as HCI-HPR *** detected categorical data are simultaneously labelled based on the data reliance on parametric rules to predictive models used in classification *** were also simulated based on multivariate normal distribution method and used to compare and validate the original ***-Results shows that the forward search method provides robust features that are capable of repelling over-fitting in physiological and eye movement *** limitations/implications-One of the limitations of the robust forward search algorithm is that when the number of digits for residuals value is more than the expected size for stack flow,it normally yields an error caution;to counter this,the data sets are normally standardized by taking the logarithmic function of the model before running the *** implications-The authors conducted some of the experiments at individual residence which may affect environmental ***/value-The novel approach to this method is the detection of outliers for data sets based on the mahalanobis distances on HCI and *** can also involve a large size of data with p possible *** improvement made to the algorithm is application of more graphical display and rendering of the residual plot.

Objective:To determine the lead bioactive compound in kernel extract of mangifera pajang and its anti-cancer activity against human breast cancer cell lines with positive estrogen receptor(mCF-7).methods:The methanolic extract of dried powder kernel of mangifera pajang was exposed to column chromatography for *** structural elucidation of the isolated compound was characterized using infrared,nuclear magnetic resonance,mass ***,cytotoxicity,morphological changes,flow cytometry and cell cycle arrest analyses were performed to examine the mechanism of anti-proliferation and apoptosis induced by methyl gallate against ***:One compound was isolated from the methanolic extract of mangifera pajang kernel and identified as methyl *** flow cytometric results demonstrated induction of apoptosis in mCF-7 cells by three concentrations of methyl *** cell cycle arrest showed a significant(Pm phase of mCF-7 after treatment with 100μm of methyl *** cell percentage of early and late apoptosis was significant at 10 and 100μm of methyl ***,methyl gallate treatment induced up-regulation of reactive oxygen species levels in mCF-7 cells with a reduction in superoxide dismutase ***:These findings indicate that isolated methyl gallate from mangifera pajang kernel extracts induces growth inhibition and apoptosis in mCF-7 cells via up-regulating oxidative stress pathway.

The electrochemical preparation of polypyrrole-carboxymethylcellulose （PPY-CmC） conducting polymer composite films on indium tin oxide （ITO） glass electrode from an aqueous solution containing pyrrole monomer, ptoluenesulfonate electrolyte and carboxymethylcellulose insulating polymer is reported. The characterization by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FT-IR） shows that carboxymethylcellulose （CmC） has been successfully incorporated into polypyrrole structure forming PPY-CmC polymer composite films. The conductivity of the prepared composite films was found to increase with increaseing CmC concentration in pyrrole solution, The optical microscopic results show the influence of CmC concentration in the pyrrole solution over the morphological changes of the prepared films. The dynamic mechanical analysis （DmA） on the prepared PPY-CmC film reveals the higher plastic property of the PPY-CmC composite film.
