This paper focuses on the case of intrabony mandibular schwannoma in a 39 yrs healthy male who was addressed by his dentist for an asymptomatic radiolucency of the left mandibular corpus. Computed Tomography Dentascan showed a soft tumour continuous to the path of the inferior alveolar nerve. Confirmation was made after surgical excision and careful histological examination. Radiolucent images of the mandible are frequently met by dentists and oro-facial surgeons, and suggest first odontogenic cysts because of their high frequency. But even if sheath nerve tumours are very rare, this case report reminds the necessity to keep them in mind.

Background and Aims:The role of miR-34a in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is controversial and several unresolved issues remain,including its expression pattern and relevance to tumor etiology,tumor stage and prognosis,and finally,its impact on ***:miR-34a expression was assessed in hepatitis C virus (HCV)-induced non-metastatic HCC tissues by ***-7 cells were transfected with miR-34a mimics and the impact of miR-34a was examined on 84 pro-apoptotic/anti-apoptotic genes using PCR array;its net effect was tested on cell viability via ***:miR-34a expression was up-regulated in HCC ***,miR-34a induced a large set of pro-apoptotic/anti-apoptotic genes,with a net result of triggering apoptosis and repressing cell ***:HCC-related differential expression of miR-34a could be etiology-based or stage-specific,and low expression of miR-34a may predict poor *** study's findings also emphasize the role of miR-34a in apoptosis.

A Compact Dual-Port Multi-Band Rectifier Circuit for RF Energy Harvesting

This paper presents a compact multi-band rectifier with an improved impedance matching *** uses a combination of–matching network(MN)at Port-1,with a parallel connection of three cell branch MN at *** proposed impedance matching network(IMN)is adopted to reduce circuit complexity,to improve circuit performance,and power conversion efficiency(PCE)of the rectifier at low input *** fabricated rectifier prototype operates at 0.92,1.82,2.1,2.46 and 2.65 GHz covering GSM/900,GSM/1800,UMTS2100,and Wi-Fi/2.45–*** size of the compact rectifier on the PCB board is 0.13λ_(g)×0.1λ_(g).The fabricated rectifier achieved an RF-to DC(radio frequency direct current)PCE of 31.8%,24%,22.7%,and 15%,and 14.1%for−20 dBm at the five respective measured operating *** circuit attains a peak RF-to-DC PCE of 82.3%for an input power of 3 dBm at 0.92 *** proposed rectifier realizes an ambient output dc voltage of 454 mV for multi-tone input signals from the two *** rectifier drives a bq25504-674 power management module(PMM)to achieve 1.21 V from the two-port *** rectifier has the ability to exploit both frequency domain through the multi-band operation with good impedance bandwidth and a spatial domain using dual-port ***,it is a potential candidate for various applications in radio frequency energy harvesting(RFEH)system.

A Pediatric Case of Tuberculous Osteomyelitis of the Mandible Mimicking a Bony Malignant Tumor

Background: Tuberculosis is a granulomatous infectious disease which is still being a real health problem in developing countries. Mainly, this specific infection affects pulmonary sites, but, the occurrence in extra-pulmonary sites is more and more reported. However, when extra-pulmonary tuberculosis affects the cervico-facial region, the cervical lymph nodes are the most involved. Aim: Throughout this case report, we put emphasis on keeping in mind of the possible tuberculous infection in a chronic lesion of mandible in children. Case presentation: In this article, we present a case of a 2-year-old child who was complaining of swelling of the right angle of the mandible. The computed tomography showed an osteolytic lesion suggesting tuberculous osteomyelitis but didn’t rule out a bony malignant neoplasm of the mandible. The histological examination of biopsy of the lesion proved the tuberculous osteomyelitis of the mandible. The child has received anti-tubercular therapy for 9 months, and she marked a good recovery. The use of the sand concrete makes it possible to carry out a concrete having physico-mechanical properties answering the structural exigences and having economic and environmental advantages compared to the classical concrete. The present study aims to connecting the parameters of a formulation based on an empirical formula of Caquot in order to optimize, on the one hand the couple compressive strength/absorption of water under various degrees of hygrometry, and on the other hand more precisely to use the concrete sand in the public works sector in the prefabrication of prestressed beams and hollow bricks. The results show the importance of the type of formulation used because it takes into account the percentages of fillers of sand which is a co-product (waste) of massive rock crushing. In addition, the use of fillerized sands, which are wastes of crushing basaltic rocks and containing a small percentage of fillers, is efficient in the manufacture of prestressed beams. As for the hollow bricks, a fillerized basalt sand, containing a high percentage of filler, as well as a sand dune, gives satisfactory results.

Global ecological concerns have resulted in an interest in renewable natural materials. Composites based on high density polyethylene (HDPE), wood fiber (Veneer) and containing coupling agents like nanoclay (NC) and poly-ethylene-co-glycidyl methacrylate (PEGMA) were made by melt compounding and then injection molding. In this study, the effects of two variable parameters namely nanoclay and coupling agent on the rheological and thermal properties of wood polyethylene composites (WPECs) were investigated. The study investigates the morphology phase, rheology behaviors and thermal properties by scanning electron microscope, capillary rheometer and thermal gravimetric analyzer. The SEM micrographs of the composites showed that the outer surfaces of the wood were coated by a section of amorphous lignin. The state of dispersion in HDPE/pine/clay composites was improved by EGMA because it could interact with pine flour in addition to clay. The interaction of reinforcement with coupling agent and HDPE matrix is strong based on the observation of the fracture surface of composites when EGMA is present. However the addition of 2.5% clay slightly lowered the initial degradation temperature (Td) but did not improve the thermal stability. Obviously, all the composites materials exhibit viscoelastic values greater than those of neat HDPE.

Objective: The study is a comparative study, the aim of which is to compare 3D conformal radiation therapy (3D-CRT) and intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) in treating nasopharyngeal carcinomas; dosimetrically evaluating and comparing both techniques as regard target coverage and doses to organs at risk (OAR). Methods: Twenty patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma were treated by 3D-CRT technique and another 20 patients were treated by IMRT. A dosimetric comparison was done by performing two plans for the same patient using Eclipse planning system (version 8.6). Results: IMRT had a better tumor coverage and conformity index compared to 3D-CRT plans (P value of 0.001 and 0.004), respectively. As for the dose homogeneity it was also better in the IMRT plans and the reason for this was attributed to the dose inhomogeneity at the photon/electron junction in the 3D-CRT plans (P value 0.032). Also, doses received by the risk structures, particularly parotids, was significantly less in the IMRT plans than those of 3D-CRT (P value 0.001). Conclusion: IMRT technique was clearly able to increase the dose delivery to the target volume, improve conformity and homogeneity index and spare the parotid glands in comparison to 3D-CRT technique.

Influence of Temperature and Pentacene Thickness on the electrical Parameters in Top Gate Organic Thin Film Transistor

In this contribution, we report on the effect of pentacene thickness and temperature on the performance of top gate transistors. We first investigated the temperature dependence of the transport properties in the temperature range of 258 K - 353 K. The electrical characteristics showed that the threshold voltage (VT) and the onset voltage (Von) remain unchanged. However, the subthreshold current (Ioff), the on-current (Ion) and the field effect mobility (μ) are highly affected with a slight deterioration of subthreshold slope. We observed Arrhenius-like behavior suggesting a thermally activated mobility with an activation energy EA = 68 meV. Moreover the dependence of the charge carrier mobility on the organic semiconductor thickness has also been studied. The mobility decreased as the pentacene thickness increases whereas the threshold voltage and Ioff current remain minimally affected. In order to understand the transport properties and in view to put in light morphology peculiarities of pentacene, AFM images were performed. It turns out that the pentacene grain sizes are smaller and disorganized as the film thickness increases, and charge carriers are more prone to be trapped, leading to decrease the field effect mobility and the Ion current. The devices were also tested under bias stress and the transistors with low thicknesses exhibited a relatively good electrical stability compared to those with high pentacene thicknesses. This work points out the influence of temperature, semiconductor thickness and bias stress effect on the device performance and stability of transistor using top gate configuration.

A practical system of metals-(2,4-pentanedionate) (M(acac)n (M= Fe, Zn, Co and V)) and P2O5 in the pres- ence of HNO3 catalyzes regioselective nitration of ar-himachalene 1 to mono-nitro-ar-himachalene 2 in mod- erate to high yields. Under mild conditions, the selectivity of nitration of 1 to 2 is excellent compared to the classical method using the nitro-sulphuric mixture HNO3/H2SO4, both mono- and di-nitro-ar-himachalene 2 and 3 are obtained. The reaction offers a very good method for the preparation of nitro-aromatic compounds and provides a useful entry to new functionalized terpenic products.
