Recharging Sensor Nodes Using Implicit Actor Coordination in Wireless Sensor Actor Networks

Wireless sensor actor networks are composed of sensor and actor nodes wherein sensor nodes outnumber resource-rich actor nodes. Sensor nodes gather information and send them to a central node (sink) and/or to actors for proper actions. The short lifetime of energy-constrained sensor nodes can endanger the proper operation of the whole network when they run out of power and partition the network. Energy harvesting as well as minimizing sensor energy consumption had already been studied. We propose a different approach for recharging sensor nodes by mobile actor nodes that use only local information. Sensor nodes send their energy status along with their sensed information to actors in their coverage. Based on this energy information, actors coordinate implicitly to decide on the timings and the ordering of recharges of low energy sensor nodes. Coordination between actors is achieved by swarm intelligence and the replenishment continues during local learning of actor nodes. The number of actors required to keep up such networks is identified through simulation using VisualSense. It is shown that defining the appropriate number of actor nodes is critical to the success of recharging strategies in prolonging the network lifetime.

The effectiveness of phosphate(P)removal from aqueous solutions was investigated by novel low-cost biochars synthesized from vinasse and functionalized with calcined *** vinasse-derived biochar,synthesized via pyrolysis at different temperatures,showed easy preparation and a large surface *** novel vinasse biochar nanocomposites were prepared by adding dolomite to the vinasse biochars with different weight percentages(10,20 and 30%).The characteristics of the prepared materials were identified for further understanding of the inherent adsorption mechanism between P ions and vinasse ***-dolomite nanocomposite was very effective in the adsorption of P species from aqueous *** effect of the operational factors on Vinasse-dolomite nanocomposite was explored by applying response surface methodology(RSM).According to RSM results,the optimum condition was achieved to be contact time 90(min),250(mg/L)of P concentration and pH *** isotherm and kinetic studies were applied on experimental data to understand the adsorption *** Vinasse-dolomite nanocomposite revealed preferential P species adsorption in the presence of co-existing *** P species could be recovered by 1.0 MHC 1 where the efficiency was not affected up to the fifth *** P-loaded Vinasse-dolomite nanocomposite was successfully tested on a plant;it significantly improved its growth and proved its potency as a P-based fertilizer substitute.

The Cretaceous Kazhdumi and Gurpi forma- tions, Ahmadi Member of the Sarvak Formation, and Paleogene Pabdeh Formation are important source rock candidates of the Middle Cretaceous-Early Miocene pet- roleum system in the Persian Gulf. This study characterizes generation potential, type of organic matter, and thermal maturity of 262 cutting samples （marls and argillaceous limestones） from these rock units taken from 16 fields in the Iranian sector of the Persian Gulf. In addition, the burial and thermal histories of these source rocks were analyzed by one-dimensional basin modeling. Based on the total organic carbon and genetic potential values, fair hydro- carbon generation potential is suggested for the studied samples. Based on Tma~ and vitrinite reflectance values, the studied samples are thermally immature to mature for hydrocarbon generation. The generated models indicate that studied source rocks are immature in central wells. The Gurpi and Pabdeh formations are immature and the Ahmadi Member and Kazhdumi Formation are early mature in the western wells. The Pabdeh Formation is within the main oil window and other source rocks are at the late oil window in the eastern wells. The hydrocarbon expulsion from the source rocks began after deposition of related caprocks which ensures entrapment and preserva- tion of migrated hydrocarbon.

Female anterior wall onlay urethroplasty with lower lip buccal mucosal graft: Importance of the laterally extended incision

Objective:To describe the outcome of female anterior wall(pubic side)onlay urethroplasty with buccal mucosal graft using laterally extended surgical dissection in patients with previously failed minimally invasive ***:From January 2016 to April 2018,17 symptomatic patients with previously failed minimally invasive procedures were enrolled in the *** diagnosis of urethral stricture was confirmed based on a combination of patients’symptoms,post-void residual urine,video-urodynamics,and *** with lower lip mucosal graft was performed using the modified laterally extended *** were evaluated pre-operatively and 12-month post-operatively with the American Urological Association symptom score,post-void residual urine,and maximum flow ***:Despite the previously failed minimally invasive procedures,urethroplasty with lower lip buccal graft and laterally extended dissection resulted in favorable outcomes(success rateZ94%).The meanstandard deviation of American urological association symptom score improved from pre-operative levels at the 12-month post-operative follow-up(25.823.97 to 10.885.57);so did postvoid residual urine(71.1274.98 mL to 15.0028.30 mL),and maximum flow rate(7.881.72 mL/s to 25.825.59 mL/s)with all statistically significant(p<0.05).Conclusion:The current study showed that female urethroplasty with buccal graft could be highly successful in experienced *** anterior approach could be superior to the posterior one due to higher mechanical support and lower sacculation rate.A laterally extended incision may improve visualization and better graft placement by providing wider working *** results should be evaluated in the future studies with larger sample size.

The effects of different Zr additions(0.05wt.%-0.5wt.%)on the structure and tensile properties of an Al-4.5Cu-0.3Mg-0.05Ti(wt.%)alloy solidified under a high cooling rate(18℃·s^(-1)),in as-cast and T6 heat-treated conditions were *** as-cast structure of the alloy consists of equiaxed grains ofα-Al with an average size of 64μm which is unaffected by the Zr additions,indicating the ineffectiveness of Zr in the grain refinement of the *** electron microscopy,along with X-ray diffraction analysis revealed the presence of elongatedθ-Al2Cu at the grain boundaries;in addition,coarse Al3Zr particles exist in the intergranular regions of the 0.5wt.%Zr-containing *** the T6 heat treatment,the elongatedθparticles were fragmented;however,the coarse Al3Zr particles remained unchanged in the ***,the formation of fineβ’-Al3Zr andθ’’-Al3Cu/θ’-Al2Cu phases during T6 heat treatment was revealed by transmission electron *** results of the tensile tests showed that the Zr additions increase the strength of the alloy in both as-cast and T6 heat-treated conditions,but reduce its elongation,especially with 0.5wt.%Zr *** 0.3wt.%Zr-added alloy in the T6 heat-treated condition has the highest quality index value(249 MPa).Fractography of the fracture surfaces of the alloys revealed ductile fracture mode including dimples and cracked intermetallic phases in both conditions.

Twofold hidden conformal symmetry of Kerr-Bolt black holes

Previously we have shown that a four-dimensional Kerr-Bolt black hole in non-extremal and also in extremal cases could be described by a holographic two-dimensional （2D） conformal field theory （CFT） [Ghezelbash A M, kamali V and Setare M R 2010 Phys. Rev. D 82 124051; Setare M R and kamali V 2010 JHEP 10 074]. Motivated by recent work [Chen C M, Huang Y M, Sun J R, Wu M F and Zou S J 2010 Phys. Rev. D 82 066004], we show that there is another holographic description for these black holes. The first description is called the J-picture, whose construction is based on the black hole angular momentum. The new description is called the Q-picture, whose constructions originate from the nut charge of the black hole. Similar to the previous cases [Ghezelbash A M, kamali V and Setare M R 2010 Phys. Rev. D 82 124051; Setare M R and kamali V 2010 JHEP 10 0741, we show that this new picture for a low frequency limit of the wave equation of a massless charged scalar field in the background of a Kerr-Bolt black hole can be written as the Casimir of SL（2, R） symmetry. Our result shows that the entropy of the black hole is reproduced by the Cardy formula. In addition, the absorption cross section is consistent with the finite temperature absorption cross section for a two-dimensional CFT.

Kinetic studies of the oxidative coupling of methane over the Mn/Na_2WO_4/SiO_2 catalyst

Oxidative coupling of methane is a direct way to obtain C2 hydrocarbon, and Mn-Na-W/SiO2 catalyst is the most promising among all the catalysts. The 2%Mn/5%Na2WO4/SiO2 catalyst was prepared by the incipient wetness impregnation method. A 7-step heterogeneous reaction model of the oxidative coupling of methane to C2 hydrocarbons was conducted by co-feeding methane and oxygen at a total pressure of 1 bar over the catalyst. The kinetic measurements were carried out in a micro-catalytic fixed bed reactor. The kinetic data were obtained at the appropriate range of reaction conditions （4 kPa〈Po2 〈20 kPa, 20 kPa〈PcH4〈80 kPa, 800 ℃〈T〈900℃）. The proposed reaction kinetic scheme consists of three primary and four consecutive reaction steps. The conversions of hydrocarbons and carbon oxides were evaluated by applying Langmuir-Hinshelwood type rate equations. Power-law rate equation was applied only for the water-gas shift reaction. In addition, the effects of operating conditions on the reaction rate were studied. The proposed kinetic model can predict the conversion of methane and oxygen as well as the yield of C2 hydrocarbons and carbon oxides with an average accuracy of ± 15%.
