intelligence is penetrating various *** demand for interdisciplinary talent is increasingly important,while interdisciplinary educational activities for high school students are lagging ***‐based learning(PBL)in artificial intelligence(AI)and robotic education activities supported by a robotic sailboat platform,the sailboat test arena(STAr),has been shown to popularise AI and robotic knowledge in young *** the implementation of the programme,PBL was provided for students,and gamification pedagogy was applied to increase participants'learning motivation and *** results show that the proposed STAr‐based programme is capable of delivering the desired knowledge and skills to students at high school *** assessment results suggest that most students achieve learning outcomes on *** showed more interest in AI and marine disciplines and were willing to participate in more such educational *** findings fill the research gap that few existing education platforms have facilitated the teaching and learning of AI and marine disciplines for high school students.

AIM： To investigate the effect of Scutellariae Radix extract （SRE） on ulcerative colitis （UC） in rats induced by dextran-sulfate sodium （DSS）. METHODS： Colitis was induced in male Sprague-Dawley （SD） rats （170-180 g） by 4% dextran sulfate sodium （DSS, wt/v, MW 54000） in drinking water for 8 d. The treated rats received 4% DSS and SRE orally （100 mg/kg per day）. Control rats received either tap water or SRE only. Macroscopic assessment which included body weight changes, fecal occult blood and stool consistency were determined daily. At the appointed time, the rats were sacrificed and the entire colons were removed. The colon length and the myeloperoxidase （MPO） activity were measured. The severity of colitis was graded by morphological and histological assessments. The ion transport activity of the colonic mucosa was assessed by electrophysiological technique. RESULTS： Rats treated with oral administration of 4% DSS regularly developed clinical and macroscopic signs of colitis. Treatment with SRE relieved the symptoms, including the reduction in body weight, shortening 2nd ulceration of the colon. Administration of SRE also significantly reduced the histological damage induced by DSS. Moreover, the Isc responses of the colonic mucosa to forskolin, were suppressed after the induction of colitis. The stimulated ion transport activity of DSS-rats treated with SRE displayed significant improvement in the secretory responsiveness. CONCLUSION： SRE was effective in treating acute DSS- induced ulcerative colitis, as gauged by reduced clinical disease, improved macroscopic and histological damage scores, and enhanced recovery of normal colonic secretory function.

Background and Aims:We aimed to perform a network meta-analysis(NWM)to examine comparative effectiveness of non-selective beta blockers(NSBBs)on prophylaxis of gastroesophageal variceal bleeding(GVB)and mortality ***:MEDLINE(OVID)and EMBASE databases were searched for eligible randomized clinical trials(RCTs)from inception to July 3,*** of interest included primary/secondary prophylaxis of GVB,failure to achieve hepatic venous pressure gradient(HVPG)decremental response,liver-related and all-cause mortality.A Bayesian NWM was performed to derive relative risk(RR)with 95%credible intervals(CrIs).The ranking probability of each NSBB was assessed by surface under cumulative ranking curve(SUCRA).Results:Thirty-three RCTs including 3,188 cirrhosis patients with gastroesophageal varices were *** with placebo,nadolol ranked first for reducing variceal bleeding[RR:0.25,(95%CrI:0.11–0.51);SUCRA:0.898],followed by carvedilol[RR:0.33,(95%CrI:0.11–0.88);SUCRA:0.692]and propranolol[RR:0.52,(95%CrI:0.37–0.75);SUCRA:0.405].Carvedilol was more effective than propranolol in achieving HVPG decremental response[RR:0.43,(95%CrI:0.26–0.69)].Carvedilol ranked first for reducing all-cause mortality[RR:0.32,(95%CrI:0.17–0.57);SUCRA:0.963],followed by nadolol[RR:0.48,(95%CI:0.29–0.77);SUCRA:0.688],and propranolol[RR:0.77,(95%CI:0.58–1.02);SUCRA:0.337].Similar findings were observed for liver-related *** ranked the *** RR of adverse events was 4.38,(95%CrI:0.33–161.4);SUCRA:0.530,followed by propranolol[RR:7.54,(95%CrI:1.90–47.89);SUCRA:0.360],and nadolol[RR:18.24,(95%CrI:91.51–390.90);SUCRA:0.158].Conclusions:Carvedilol is the preferred NSBB with better survival benefit and lower occurrence of adverse events among patients with gastroesophageal varices.

Objective:To establish that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region(HKSAR)government is actively promoting Chinese medicine(CM)and to examine turnover rate of Chinese medicine practitioners(CMPs)in Hong Kong,China in light of this governmental ***:This study covered two major areas:reviewing CM development in Hong Kong,and assessing the turnover rate of CMPs in Hong *** first part of the paper is a historical *** investigation of turnover rate had two *** 1,quantitative method,involved online questionnaires;Section 2,qualitative method comprised interviews with CMPs from different types of CM clinics to ascertain the reasons for the turnover among ***:A total of 123 online questionnaires were received in Section 1(55 from male CMPs;66 from female CMPs;2 respondents were unwilling to disclose their sex).The proportion of CMPs who had resigned in 2018e19 was 22.8%(28),of whom 5.7%(7)had resigned twice in one *** rates of resignation in 3 years and 5 years were up to 40.7%(50)and 56.9%(70),*** CMPs were interviewed in Section *** CMPs were more likely to resign than *** large gap between actual salary and expectations appeared to be the main reason for the high rate of ***:HKSAR government keenly desires to promote CM in Hong Kong,however,high turnover rate of CMPs was detected even under this positive governmental *** is an urgent need to conduct a more representative study of the reasons for the inclination of CMPs in Hong *** study highlights an important issue in CM development,and these results should remind different stakeholders in the CM industry and the government that CMPs need better career prospects and support in various areas.

Interests in charcoal usage have recently been re-ignited because it is believed that charcoal is a muchbetter fuel than wood. The conventional charcoal production consumes a large amount of energy due to the prolonged heating time and cooling time which contribute to the process completing in one to several days. Wood py-rolysis consists of both endothermic and exothermic reactions as well as the decomposition of the different components at different temperature range （hemicellulose： 200-260℃; cellulose： 240-350℃ and lignin： 280-500℃）. Inthis study we propose a multistagepyrolysis which is an approach to carry out pyrolysis with multiple heating stages so as to gain certain processing benefits. We propose a three-stage approach which includes rapid stepwise heating stage to a variable target temperatures of 250 ℃, 300℃, 350 ℃ and 400 ℃, slow and gradual heatingstage to a tinal temperature of 400℃ and adiabatic with cooling stage. The multi-stage pyrolysis process can save 30% energy and the processing time by using a first temperature target of 300 ℃and heating rate of 5℃.min-1 to produce a fixed-carbon yield of 25.73% as opposed to the base case with a fixed-carbon yield of23.18%.

The analysis on the feedstock pyrolysis characteristic and the impacts of process parameters on pyrolysis outcomes can assist in the designing,operating and optimizing pyrolysis *** work aims to utilize both experimental and modelling approaches to perform the analysis on three biomass feedstocks—wood sawdust,bamboo shred and Jatropha Curcas seed cake residue,and to provide insights for the design and operation of pyrolysis *** the experimental part,the study investigated the effect of heating rate,final pyrolysis temperature and sample size on pyrolysis using common thermal analysis *** the modelling part,a transient mathematical model that integrates the feedstock characteristic from the experimental study was used to simulate the pyrolysis progress of selected biomass feedstock particles for reactor *** model composes of several sub-models that describe pyrolysis kinetic and heat flow,particle heat transfer,particle shrinking and reactor *** better understanding of the effects of process conditions and feedstock characteristics on pyrolysis through both experimental and modelling studies,this work discusses on the considerations of and interrelation between feedstock size,pyrolysis energy usage,processing time and product quality for the design and operation of pyrolysis processes.

The embolization of gastric varices is an established technique for acute bleeding in patients with portal hypertension. Here, we report an attempt to embolize a gastrorenal shunt to facilitate esophagectomy in a patient with an esophageal malignancy. To our knowledge, this is the first case in the literature to highlight the role of interventional medicine in the treatment of patients with esophageal malignancy.

This paper set out to analyze and forecast the Hong Kong Interbank Interest Rate(HIBOR)for a period 2006 to *** main objective of this study is to propose an appropriate time series forecasting model for *** conceptually captures the interaction between demand and supply of Hong Kong dollar in the interbank *** volatility of HIBOR reflects market sentiment,changes in underlying macroeconomic environment,random events and even political ***,the time series data of HIBOR appears to have multiple seasonality during the aforesaid *** TBATS model,the state space modeling framework developed by De Livera,Hyndman and Snyder(2010)is adopted for this study to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the time series modeling and forecasting of *** TBATS model incorporates Box-Cox transformations,Fourier representations with time varying coefficients,and ARMA error *** evaluation and analytical expressions for point forecasts and interval predictions under the assumption of Gaussian errors are derived,leading to a simple,comprehensive approach to forecasting complex seasonal time *** addition,the trigonometric formulation is used as a means of decomposing complex seasonal time series,which helps to identify and extract seasonal components which are otherwise not apparent in the time series plot *** performance of the TBATS model as evaluated by measures of forecast error are presented.

Histone H3 lysine 9 di-methylation(H3K9me2)is an epigenetic repressive histone modification that was found at aberrant states in Alzheimer’s disease(AD)patient samples[1].The addition of H3K9me2/3 is mainly catalyzed by lysine methyltransferase G9a,which functions as a heteromeric complex with G9a-like protein(GLP).G9a/GLP has other non-histone substrates,including itself.G9a/GLP is implicated in regulating synaptic plasticity,learning and memory[2,3].
