Strengthening of RC structures with externally bonded FRP （fiber reinforced polymers） has become an important challenge in civil engineering. Epoxy is the main bonding agent used so far, but in the case of a fire, it is subjected to complete loss of his bonding capabilities. Mineral based composites strengthening systems consist of FRPs and a cementitious bonding agent which form a repair or strengthening system that is more compatible with the concrete substrata, and roved its efficiency. The current research introduces the use of a special cementitious material ＂Grancrete＂ as a bonding agent. Test results of 32 T-section RC beams strengthened with various FRG （fiber reinforced Grancrete） strengthening systems are presented. The results demonstrated that most of the specimens were likely to fail by debonding of the FRP from the concrete either at the ends or at intermediate flexural cracks. This paper presents an in-depth study aimed at the development of a better understanding of debonding failures in RC beams strengthened with externally bonded FRP systems. Different analytical models, published in the literature for plate end debonding, are reviewed and compared to test results. The results also demonstrated that when using U-wraps, the specimens were likely to fail by FRP sheet rupture.

The coastal dunes located near the Ashirmata region, south of Mandvi beach lies near the straight coast have been stud-ied by making use of sedimentological information and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) data. Sedimentological analy-sis reveals the NNW-SSE trending longitudinal dunes consists of well sorted fine sands with unimodal distribution pos-sibly formed by constant wind gust and also the point out to the origin of sediments from single source;mostly the sediments derived from Indus delta transported to beach by long shore drift and tidal waves, carried inland by local on-shore winds. The radargram confirms, the homogenous sand layers with paleosols at shallow depth slip faces are proba-bly formed due to extreme storm activity of Recent.

BACkGROUND Hepatitis C is the leading cause of chronic liver disease worldwide and it significantly contributes to the burden of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).However,there are marked variations in the incidence and mortality rates of HCC across different geographical *** the advent of new widely available treatment modalities,such as direct-acting antivirals,it is becoming increasingly imperative to understand the temporal and geographical trends in HCC mortality associated with Hepatitis ***,gender disparities in HCC mortality related to Hepatitis C are a crucial,yet underexplored aspect that adds to the disease's global *** some studies shed light on gender-specific trends,there is a lack of comprehensive data on global and regional mortality rates,particularly those highlighting gender *** gap in knowledge hinders the development of targeted interventions and resource allocation *** The results of our study show an overall decline in the mortality rates of patients with hepatitis C-related HCC over the last two ***,females exhibited a remarkable decrease in mortality compared to ***,East Asia and the Pacific displayed a significant decline in mortality,while Europe and Central Asia witnessed an upward *** America and the Caribbean also experienced an increase in mortality ***,no significant difference was observed in the Middle East and North *** America exhibited a notable upward *** Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa significantly declined throughout the study *** raises the hope of identifying areas for implementing more targeted *** some progress,multiple challenges remain in meeting the WHO 2030 goal of eliminating viral hepatitis[24].

Context: Manifestations of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) may in most patients be ameliorated with medications that suppress the immune system. Nevertheless, there remains a subset of SLE patients for whom current strategies are insufficient to control disease. Objective: To assess the safety of intense immunosuppression and autologous hematopoietic stem cell support in patients with severe and treatment-refractory SLE. Design, Setting, and Participants: A single-arm trial of 50 patients with SLE refractory to standard immunosuppressive therapies and either organ-or life-threatening visceral involvement. Patients were enrolled from April 1997 through January 2005 in an autologous nonmyeloablative hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) study at a single US medical center. Interventions: Peripheral blood stem cells were mobilized withcyclophosphamide (2.0 g/m2) and granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (5 μ g/kg per day), enriched ex vivo by CD34 + immunoselection, cryopreserved, and reinfused after treatment with cyclophosphamide (200 mg/kg) and equine antithymocyte globulin (90 mg/kg). Main Outcome: Measures The primary end point was survival, both overall and disease-free. Secondary end points included SLE Disease Activity Index (SLEDAI), serology (antinuclear antibody [ANA] and anti-double-stranded (ds) DNA), complement C3 and C4, and changes in renal and pulmonary organ function assessed before treatment and at 6 months, 12 months, and then yearly for 5 years. Results: Fifty patients were enrolled and underwent stem cell mobilization. Two patients died after mobilization, one from disseminated mucormycosis and another from active lupus after postponing the transplantation for 4 months. Forty-eight patients underwent nonmyeloablative HSCT. Treatment-related mortality was 2% (1/50). By intention to treat, treatment-related mortality was 4% (2/50). With a mean follow-up of 29 months (range, 6 months to 7.5 years) for patients undergoing HSCT, overall 5-y

Context: Abundant evidence links overweight and obesity with impaired health. However, controversies persist as to whether overweight and obesity have additional impact on cardiovascular outcomes independent of their strong associations with established coronary risk factors, eg, high blood pressure and high cholesterol level. Objective: To assess the relation of midlife body mass index with morbidity and mortality outcomes in older age among individuals without and with other major risk factors at baseline. Design: Chicago Heart Association Detection Project in Industry study, a prospective study with baseline(1967- 1973) cardiovascular risk classified as low risk(blood pressure ≤ 120/≤ 80 mm Hg, serum total cholesterol level king); moderate risk(nonsmoking and systolic blood pressure 121- 139 mm Hg, diastolic blood pressure 81- 89 mm Hg, and/or total cholesterol level 200- 239 mg/dL[5.2- 6.2 mmol/L]); or having any 1, any 2, or all 3 of the following risk factors: blood pressure ≥ 140/90 mm Hg, total cholesterol level ≥ 240 mg/dL(6.2 mmol/L), and current cigarette smoking. Body mass index was classified as normal weight(18.5- 24.9), overweight(25.0- 29.9), or obese(≥ 30). Mean follow-up was 32 years. Setting and Participants: Participants were 17 643 men and women aged 31 through 64 years, recruited from Chicago-area companies or organizations and free of coronary heart disease(CHD), diabetes, or major electrocardiographic abnormalities at baseline. Main Outcome Measures: Hospitalization and mortality from CHD, cardiovascular disease, or diabetes, beginning at age 65 years. Results: In multivariable analyses that included adjustment for systolic blood pressure and total cholesterol level, the odds ratio(95% confidence interval) for CHD death for obese participants compared with those of normal weight in the same risk category was 1.43(0.33- 6.25) for low risk and 2.07(1.29- 3.31) for moderate risk; for CHD hospitalizat
