Thermally Conductive,Healable Glass Fiber Cloth Reinforced Polymer Composite based onβ-Hydroxyester Bonds Crosslinked Epoxy with Improved Heat Resistance

To simultaneously endow thermal conductivity,high glass transition temperature(Tg)and healing capability to glass fiber/epoxy(GFREP)composite,dynamic crosslinked epoxy resin bearing reversibleβ-hydroxyl ester bonds was reinforced with boron nitride nanosheets modified glass fiber cloth(GFC@BNNSs).The in-plane heat conduction paths were constructed by electrostatic self-assembly of polyacrylic acid treated GFC and polyethyleneimine decorated ***,the GFC@BNNSs were impregnated with the mixture of lower concentration(3-glycidyloxypropyl)trimethoxysilane grafted BN micron sheets,3,4-epoxycyclohexylmethyl 3,4-epoxycyclohexanecarboxylate and hexahydro-4-methylphthalic anhydride,which accounted for establishing the through-plane heat transport pathways and avoiding serious deterioration of mechanical *** resultant GFREP composite containing less boron nitride particles(17.6 wt%)exhibited superior in-plane(3.29 W·m^(-1)·k^(-1))and through-plane(1.16 W·m^(-1)·k^(-1))thermal conductivities,as well as high Tg of 204℃(Tg of the unfilled epoxy=177℃).The reversible transesterification reaction enabled closure of interlaminar cracks within the composite,achieving decent healing efficiencies estimated by means of tensile strength(71.2%),electrical breakdown strength(83.6%)and thermal conductivity(69.1%).The present work overcame the disadvantages of conventional thermally conductive composites,and provided an efficient approach to prolong the life span of thermally conductive GFREP laminate for high-temperature resistant integrated circuit application.

Stabilizing n-type cubic AgBiSe_(2) thermoelectric materials through alloying with PbS

Phase transition generates rapid changes of transport parameters and poor mechanical property,and thus restricts the application of thermoelectric ***_(2) exhibits cubic phase at above 580 k with high-symmetry structure and low lattice thermal conductivity,indicating the potentiality of high thermoelectric *** this work,the cubic structure of AgBiSe_(2) was achieved at ambient conditions by alloying with PbS,enhancing the configurational entropy at both cationic and anionic *** cubic structure was rather stable after several measurement *** substitution at cationic sites effectively reduced band gap,and increased both carrier concentration and effective *** samples exhibited relatively low lattice thermal conductivity(0.68-0.34 W/(m·k))in the temperature range of 300-773 k,due to the nanoscale inhomogeneity and the random distribution of multiple species at some atomic sites.A maximum zT of 0.65 at 773 k was obtained for(Ag_(0.99)Nb_(0.01)BiSe_(2))_(0.8)(PbS)_(0.2) *** entropy-driven structural stabilization is a promising strategy to achieve stable structure for practical thermoelectric applications.

Hydrogen storage thermodynamics and kinetics of as-cast Ce-Mg-Ni-based alloy

The reaction kinetics of alloys based on magnesium are known to be greatly improved by the partial substitution of Mg with rare earths and transition metals,particularly *** enhanced superficial hydrogen dissociation rate,the weakened Mg-H bond and the lower activation energy following element replacement are thought to be related to the better *** experimental alloys Ce5Mg_(95-x)Ni_(x)(x=5,10,15)were smelted by the vacuum induction *** phase transformation and structural evolution of experimental alloys before and after reaction with hydrogen were char-acterized by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron *** cast specimens contain CeMg_(12),Mg and Mg_(2)Ni phases,and the increase in Ni content results in an obvious growth of Mg_(2)Ni *** isothermal and non-isothermal hydrogenation and dehydrogenation kinetics of the experimental specimens were investi-gated using the Sievert apparatus,differential scanning calorimetry and thermal gravimetric *** activation energy may be calculated using the Arrhenius and kissinger *** experimental alloys have been shown to have good activation properties,with a reversible hydriding and dehydriding capacities of around 5.0 wt.%in the first *** initial dehydrogenation temperature of MgH_(2) decreases from 557.5 to 537.7 k with changing Ni content from 5 to 15 at.%.The dehydrogenation activation energy also reduces from 77.09 to 62.96 kJ/mol,which explains the improved hydrogen storage performance caused by Ni *** can be shown that the impact of Ni on the decomposition enthalpy of MgH_(2) is quite modest,with the absolute enthalpy(ΔHr)only decreasing from 78.48 to 76.15 kJ/mol.

Simple and effective:Superlubricity behaviour of the G-quadruplex hydrogel with high selectivity for k+ions based on the ocular environment

Hydrogels have been the subject of significant research in the field of friction due to their exceptional lubricating *** this study,the G-quadruplex hydrogel with high selectivity for k+ions was formed by introducing a mixture of G,2-formylphenylboronic acid,and polyethylene glycol diamine into simulated artificial tears solution with high transparency,and an ultra-low coefficient of friction(COF)of about 0.004 was obtained based on the simulated ocular environment,thus achieving macroscopic *** friction pairs simulating the ocular environment,to assess the frictional performance of the G-quadruplex hydrogel as both a lubricant and a friction pair based on the simulated ocular environment,we conducted experiments considering various factors such as concentration,sliding speed,and *** these experiments,it was found that superlubricity was achieved when the G-quadruplex hydrogel was applied as lubricant or friction *** effect was attributed to the three-dimensional network structure and hydrophilicity of the hydrogel,which facilitated the formation of a highly bearing and flowing hydration layer,promoting macroscopic *** to the G-quadruplex hydrogel with low concentration,the high concentration hydrogel(75 mM)exhibited increased mechanical strength and robustness in *** with biocompatibility experiments,our synthesized G-quadruplex hydrogel has excellent biocompatibility and offers a novel approach to achieve superlubricity in ocular drug delivery.

Symmetrization of quasi-regular patterns with periodic tilting of regular polygons

Computer-generated aesthetic patterns arewidely used as design materials in various fields. Themost common methods use fractals or dynamicalsystems as basic tools to create various patterns. Toenhance aesthetics and controllability, some researchershave introduced symmetric layouts along with thesetools. One popular strategy employs dynamical systemscompatible with symmetries that construct functionswith the desired symmetries. However, these aretypically confined to simple planar symmetries. Theother generates symmetrical patterns under theconstraints of tilings. Although it is slightly moreﬂexible, it is restricted to small ranges of tilingsand lacks textural variations. Thus, we proposed anew approach for generating aesthetic patterns bysymmetrizing quasi-regular patterns using general kuniformtilings. We adopted a unified strategy toconstruct invariant mappings for k-uniform tilings thatcan eliminate texture seams across the tiling ***, we constructed three types of symmetriesassociated with the patterns: dihedral, rotational, andreﬂection symmetries. The proposed method can beeasily implemented using GPU shaders and is highlyefficient and suitable for complicated tiling with regularpolygons. Experiments demonstrated the advantages of our method over state-of-the-art methods in terms ofﬂexibility in controlling the generation of patterns withvarious parameters as well as the diversity of texturesand styles.

Understanding the underlying mechanisms and links between genome evolution and adaptive innovations stands as a key goal in evolutionary ***,among the world’s most widely distributed and cultivated trees,exhibit extensive phenotypic diversity and environmental *** this study,we present a genus-level super-pangenome comprising 19 Populus genomes,revealing the likely pivotal role of private genes in facilitating local environmental and climate *** the integration of pangenomes with transcriptomes,methylomes,and chromatin accessibility mapping,we unveil that the evolutionary trajectories of pangenes and duplicated genes are closely linked to local genomic landscapes of regulatory and epigenetic architectures,notably CG methylation in gene-body *** comparative genomic analyses have enabled the identification of 142202 structural variants across species that intersect with a significant number of genes and contribute substantially to both phenotypic and adaptive *** have experimentally validated a∼180-bp presence/absence variant affecting the expression of the CUC2 gene,crucial for leaf serration ***,we developed a user-friendly web-based tool encompassing the multi-omics resources associated with the Populus super-pangenome(http://***).Together,the present pioneering super-pangenome resource in forest trees not only aids in the advancement of breeding efforts of this globally important tree genus but also offers valuable insights into potential avenues for comprehending tree biology.
