Carcinosarcomas are rare,malignant,biphasic tumors simultaneously comprising carcinoma and sarcoma in a single *** present an extremely rare case of gastric carcinosarcoma with an osteoblastic component that drastically changed its shape within 2 mo.A 59-year-old male patient presented to the emergency outpatient unit with a complaint of black.*** endoscopy showed an ulcerated mass in the cardia of the lesser curvature of the *** specimens revealed only *** months later,the ulcerated lesion drastically changed its shape into an exophytic *** gastrectomy was *** the resected specimen,the gastric tumor contained both adenocarcinoma and sarcoma components with lace-lik. *** patient died 7 mo after the operation,and an autopsy was *** the autopsy,widespread metastases were present in the liver,lung,lymph nodes and *** this report,we describe a case of gastric carcinosarcoma and presume its tumorigenesis based on the autopsy findings.

Titania(TiO2) photocatalyst coatings have been fabricated by the low-cost approach of sulfuric-acid-bath pretreatment(SAP)followed soak.d in sulfuric acid(SA) at room temperature then oxidated in air. The influence of the SAP and soak.d conditions on the surface morphology and photocatalytic activity of TiO2 on Ti coatings was investigated. With different SAP conditions,the surface morphologies of the TiO2 on Ti coatings clearly show the formed porous-lik. structure. With higher SA concentration,the porous-lik. structure becomes obviously. With extending soak.d time,the porous-lik. structure tends to disappear. Raman spectroscopy reveals that the formed TiO2 coatings are with mixed-phase of anatase and rutile. Compared with those of SA concentration and SAP time,the influence of the soak.d time on the phase transformation is obvious. Notably,the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 on Ti coatings had been efficiently enhanced by extending the soak.d time,compared with those of higher SA concentration and longer SAP time. The enhanced photocatalytic activity of TiO2 on Ti coatings could be related with the changed surface morphology,mixed-phase of anatase and rutile,and formed hydroxyl groups.

The purpose of this review is to discuss the advantages and limitations of taste sensors in the evaluation of the taste of palatability of different oral dosage forms. First, we consider some ways in which the palatability of various pharmaceutical formulations including orally disintegrating tablets(ODTs) are tested using two different taste sensors. Second, we focus on the evaluation of palatability of ODTs. We compare the usefulness of three pieces of apparatus for estimating the disintegration time of ODTs. Finally, we compare the characteristics of the two taste sensors in the evaluation of palatability of various k.nds of drug formulations.

Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is efficient for en bloc resection of large colorectal tumors. However, it has several technical difficulties, because the wall of the colon is thin and due to the winding nature of the colon. The main complications of ESD comprise postoperative perforation and hemorrhage, similar to endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR). In particular, the rate of perforation in ESD is higher than that in EMR. Perforation of the colon can cause fatal peritonitis. Endoscopic clipping is reported to be an efficient therapy for perforation. Most cases with perforation are treated conservatively without urgent surgical intervention. However, the rate of postoperative hemorrhage in ESD is similar to that in EMR. Endoscopic therapy including endoscopic clipping is performed and most of the cases are treated conservatively without blood transfusion. In blood examination, some degree of inflammation is detected after ESD. For the standardization of ESD, it is most important to decrease the rate of perforation. Adopting a safe strategy for ESD and a suitable choice of k.ife are both important waysof preventing perforation. Moreover, appropriate training and increasing experience can improve the endoscopic technique and can decrease the rate of perforation. In this review, we describe safe procedures in ESD to prevent complications, the complications of ESD and their management.
