A laborat.ry scale st.dy was conduct.d t. assess t.e feasibilit. of t.e new coupling of rot.t.ng biological cont.ct.r (RBC) plus porous biomass support.syst.m (PBSS) using polyuret.ane foam as porous support.media t. biodegrade pet.oleum refinery wast.wat.r. Polyuret.ane foam was at.ached on disk. of t.o four-st.ge laborat.ry scale cascade connect.d RBC *** t.o RBC unit. were operat.d simult.neously at.different.but.const.nt. flowrat.s giving hydraulic loading rat.s of 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, 0.04 m3/m2/d in t.o runs k.eping t.e same rot.t.onal speed 10 r/min t.roughout. Organic loading was a less cont.ollable fact.r in t.is *** all of t.e hydraulic loadings, it.was found t.at.t.e removal efficiency of t.t.l chemical oxygen demand (t.OD) and oil were above 80 percent. Ammonia nit.ogen and phenol removal were above 90 and 80 percent.respect.vely. t.e maximum biomass concent.at.on wit.in polyuret.ane foam was about.30 g/m2 in t.e first.st.ge for 0.03 m3/m2/d hydraulic *** result. show t.at.t.is new t.chnology can be applied effect.vely for pract.cal purposes wit. moderat. hydraulic loading rat.s.

Air qualit. is one of k.y issues t. be addressed in t.e Viet.am environment.l securit. st.at.gy. As part.of t.e st.at.gy, t.is st.dy invest.gat.s t.e t.mporal pat.erns of PM2.5 variat.ons in Hanoi using dat. measured from January 2017 t. December 2018. t.e loglinear regression is used t. analyze how t.e met.orological fact.rs affect.t.e PM2.5 variat.ons. t.e analysis indicat.s t.e seasonal, mont.ly and diurnal variat.ons of PM2.5 concent.at.ons. t.e lowest.concent.at.on level is found in t.e summer due t. hot.climat.c condit.ons wit. st.ong winds and high solar radiat.on. t.e highest.PM2.5 concent.at.on is observed in wint.r as a result.of st.gnat.on. t.e concent.at.on levels from 2:00 AM t. 8:00 AM t.nd t. be higher t.an ot.er hours of t.e day while t.e downt.end is recorded from 11:00 AM t. 7:00 PM and reaches t.e lowest.levels of t.e day at.2:00 PM t. 3:00 PM. t.e st.dy result. provide import.nt.informat.on for government.aut.orit.es, int.rnat.onal and civil societ. organizat.ons on when and why t.e PM2.5 concent.at.on levels increase. t.is predict.ve analysis would be useful t. develop early warning syst.ms and t. minimize t.e negat.ve impact. of air pollut.on on public healt..

Calculat.on of t.e neut.on noise induced by fuel assembly vibrat.ons in t.o pressurized wat.r react.r(PWR) cores has been conduct.d t. invest.gat. t.e effect.of cycle burnup on t.e propert.es of t.e ex-core det.ct.r noise. An ext.nsion of t.e met.od and t.e comput.t.onal models of a previous work.have been applied t. t.o different.PWR cores t. examine a hypot.esis t.at.fuel assembly vibrat.ons cause t.e corresponding peak.in t.e aut. power spect.al densit.(APSD) increase during t.e cycle. St.chast.c vibrat.ons along a random t.o-dimensional t.aject.ry of individual fuel assemblies were assumed t. occur at.different.locat.ons in t.e cores. t.o models regarding t.e displacement.amplit.de of t.e vibrat.ng assembly have been considered t. det.rmine t.e noise source. t.en, t.e APSD of t.e ex-core det.ct.r noise was evaluat.d at.t.ree burnup st.ps. t.e result. show t.at.t.ere is no monot.nic t.ndency of t.e change in t.e APSD of ex-core det.ct.r; however, t.e increase in APSD occurs predominant.y for peripheral assemblies. When assuming simult.neous vibrat.ons of a number of fuel assemblies uniformly dist.ibut.d over t.e core, t.e effect.of t.e peripheral assemblies dominat.s t.e ex-core neut.on *** behaviour was found similar in bot. cores.
