s.nce its.dis.overy by Blumberg in 1965, the hepatitis.B s.rface antigen (HBs.g) is.us.d as.the fingerprint of hepatitis.B infection. Occult hepatitis.B infection (OBI) is.defined by a viral replication (DNA detectable) in the abs.nce of HBs.g. Burk.na Fas. is.a high endemic area where the prevalence is.higher than 14%. At the National Center for Blood Trans.us.on (NCBT) of Ouagadougou, HBs.g is.the only s.ught mark.r us.d to dis.inguis. donors.towards.Hepatitis.B Virus.(HBV). Acceptation of blood donation is.bas.d s.ecifically on the abs.nce of HBs.g, which expos.s.to the ris.0}of HBV trans.is.ion during trans.us.on. The goal of this.s.udy is.to evaluate this.ris.0}by determining the prevalence of OBI in blood donors. Patients.and Methods. It was.a five-month pros.ective s.udy on blood donations.collected from January to May 2016. The HBc antibody has.been s.ught in the s.rums.of negative HBs.g donors. The meas.re of B DNA by Real Time PCR (polymeras. chain reaction) and that of antibodies.anti-HBs.have been propos.d to anti-HBc pos.tive donors. Abdominal ultras.und, the trans.minas.s. prothrombin level, alphafeto-proteins. hepatic fibros.s.have been propos.d to donors.who were detectable for the DNA. s.ciodemographic parameters.have been collected. The tes. cos.s.were borne by donors.who were recalled by phone to adhere to the s.udy. Res.lts. Among 1980 negative donors.HBs.g, 872 (44%) were pos.tive for anti-HBc. 160 on 872 donors.were received for cons.ltation, among which 76 (76/160) were able to realis. DNA which was.detectable in 25 donors.on 76, thus.a prevalence of 32.8%. The mean value of DNA was.953 IU/ml. Phys.cal examination and hepatic ultras.unds.were normal except a cas. where hepatic s.eatos.s.was.found. The biologic s.andard hepatic res.lts.were in normal range. None of the patient was.able to realis. hepatic fibros.s.evaluation. A cas. of co-infection HIV/OBI was.noted. Conclus.on: This.s.udy s.ows.that in Burk.na, almos. half of blood bags.trans.us

Back.round: Prevalence of Peptic Ulcer Dis.as. (PUD) is.decreas.ng in developed countries.s.nce the us. of the treatments.for eradication of Helicobacter pylori. Objectives. To revalue the s.ciodemographic, clinical and evolutionary as.ects.of the PUD among hos.italized patients.in CHUYO. Methodology: This.pros.ective s.udy is.related to 65 files.of patients.hos.italized in hepato-gas.roenterology and general s.rgical s.rvices.of the CHUYO between March 1s. and Augus. 31s., 2015. Res.lts. Hos.ital utilization rate was.6.59%. The average age of patients.was.40.6 years.with extremes.of 17 and 80 years. The s.x ratio was.9.8. The location of the ulcer was.69.23% in s.omach. A notion of tak.ng aggres.ive gas.rointes.inal products.was.found in 62 patients.(95.4%). The clinical picture was.repres.nted by diffus. abdominal pain (76.92%), peritoneal irritation s.ndrome (64.61%) and epigas.ric pain (56.92%), anemia (23.07%). Gas.ric perforations.(64.61%) and gas.rointes.inal bleeding (12.30%) were the main complications. Cons.mption of non-s.eroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.(Ns.IDs. was.found in 81.5% of cas.s. The management was.medical and/or s.rgical with an overall mortality rate of 7.7%. Conclus.on: The PUD rate decreas.d from 10.12% to 6.59% in 5 years. The complications.are dominated by s.omach perforations. They are relative increas. and s.em related to Ns.IDs. Better management of this.dis.as. requires.awarenes. of the population to s.lf-medication.

The aim of this.work.is.to inventory and s.udy the lignicolous.paras.tic macrofungi of the Tin plant formation. The mycological outings.from July to s.ptember 2018 and 2019, collected forty-four (44) bas.diomes.through a random s.mpling device over an area of 40,000 m2 including 1000 m long by 40 m2 wide. The s.andard methods.and techniques.us.d in mycology for taxonomic s.udies.were us.d to des.ribe and clas.ify the carpophores.collected in three families. Hymenochaetaceae, Ganodermataceae and Polyporaceae, into eight genera: Onnia (4.55%), Amauroderma (4.55%), Ganoderma (20.45%), Phellinus.(52.27%), Inonotus.(4.55%), Phellinops.s.(6.82%), Grammothele (2.27%) and Trametes.(4.55%). The genera Phellinus.and Ganoderma were the mos. abundant. Finally, eight s.ecies.were identified: Inonotus.cf. ochroporus. Inonotus.cf. pachyphloeus. Phellinus.cf. cryptarum, Phellinus.cf. hartigii, Phellinus.cf. hippophaecola;Phellinus.cf. robus.us. Phellinus.cf. igniarius. et Amauroderma cf. fas.iculatum. s.ven fungal s.ecies.belong to the family Hymenochaetaceae and only the s.ecies.Amauroderma cf. fas.iculatum is.a Ganodermataceae. However, all thes. fungal s.ecies.are s.own to be paras.tes.of trunk. and/or branches.of the following woody: Park.a biglobos. (50%), Anogeis.us.leiocarpus.(25%), Annona s.negalens.s.(12.5%) and Mangifera indica (12.5%). Authors.attes. that the pres.nce of phytoparas.tic polypores.in a plant formation is.an indicator of aging hence the urgency to put in place the appropriate meas.res.to s.feguard and res.ore Tin’s.plant formation.

Back.round: Hemorrhoidal dis.as. is.mos. frequently encountered in proctology affection;it is.defined by s.gns.or s.mptoms.attributed to hemorrhoids. Its.pathogenes.s.is.bas.d on old theories.and vas.ular mechanical which are nevertheles. bas.d on the current therapeutic approach. General Aim of the s.udy: To s.udy haemorrhoids. pathology in order to improve its.management. Methodology: A retros.ective cros.-s.ctional s.udy was.conducted over a period of two (2) years.from 1 January 2012 to 31 December 2013. Data were collected from outpatients.records.in hepato-gas.roenterology and diges.ive s.rgery s.rvices.at “Polyclinique Notre Dame de la Paix” in Ouagadougou (2294 files.. Res.lts. 140 cas.s.of haemorrhoids.were recorded during our s.udy period. The frequency was.6.1% of cons.ltations. Males.predominated with 75.71% of patients.(s.x ratio = 3.12). The average age was.39.58 years. Civil s.rvants.were mos. affected by this.dis.as. (60%). Rectal bleeding was.the mos. common reas.n of cons.ltation (52.14%). The crown s.ape was.predominated (59%). The frequency of external haemorrhoids.was.the highes. (65.71%) and s.age 4 (40.79%) was.the mos. repres.nted. Anal fis.ure was.the proctologic pathology, the mos. as.ociated to haemorrhoids.(17.14%). Medical treatment concerned 89.28% of patients.with 69.6% of favorable s.ort-term evolution. No ins.rumental treatment was.performed. s.rgical treatment cons.s.ed of 10.71% of patients.and the technique us.d was.the Milligan-Morgan performed under s.inal anes.hes.a. The pos.operative complications.were mainly repres.nted by anal intens. pain and acute urinary retention. The healing period of wounds.was.on average 6 week.. Conclus.on: The hemorrhoid has.often underes.imated in our regions. The ins.rumental treatment is.nonexis.ent and s.ould tak. an important place;it mus. be an indication before s.rgery.

Production and quality of vinegar from mango juice was.evaluated us.ng a two s.eps.production procedure. The firs. s.ep of fermentation was.done us.ng s.ccharomyces.cerevis.e k.L013 for 7 days. The s.cond s.ep, an acetic fermentation was.realized us.ng two acetic acid bacteria: A. tropicalis.CRs.AN-BVA1 and A. tropicalis.CRs.AN-BVk. for 21 days. s.veral parameters.of the vinegar produced s.ch as.phys.co-chemical and s.ns.ry properties.were determined. Microbial dens.ty during each s.ep was.monitored. Res.lts.s.owed that pH, alcoholic and acetic acid contents.of vinegar were res.ectively 2.97%, 7% and 4.54% g/ml res.ectively by us.ng A. tropicalis.CRs.AN-BVA1 and 3.02%, 7% and 4.32% g/ml with A. tropicalis.CRs.AN-BVk.. s.ns.ry evaluation revealed that the vinegar was.acceptable to the panellis.s. Res.lts.of microbial dens.ty s.owed that the maximum concentration of cell biomas. produced was.4.32 × 10s.p>8s.p> and 4.25 × 10s.p>8s.p> CFU/ml res.ectively for CRs.AN-BVA1 and CRs.AN-BVk..

Malnutrition and food ins.curity are major concerns.for the Malians.an> authorities. The objective of this study was to strengthen the knowledge about the nutritional and physicochemical values of four underutilized edible wild fruits.pick.d at two cities.belonging to different bioclimatic zones.of Mali. The phys.cochemical and nutritional parameters.were performed us.ng s.andard methods. The findings.revealed that all thes. parameters.varied from one fruit to another, this outcome could be associated s.an>with the provenances of the wild fruits (p-value R. sudanica fruits to 5.34 g/100g DM for those of B. aegyptiaca, all these samples were being harvested from Sikasso. The highest concentrations of vitamins are C (150,800 to 151,000 μg/100g DM), E (1,310 to 1,350 μg/100g DM) and A (38 to 40 μg/100g DM) respectively for the fruits of Z. mauritiana, B. aegyptiaca and S. senegalensis. In addition, these fruits would constitute a potential source of minerals such as iron, phosphorus and calcium. Aflatoxin contamination of crops.is.frequent in warm regions.acros. the globe, including large areas.in s.b-s.haran Africa and Burk.na Fas.. A?atoxins.and fumonis.ns.are among the mycotoxins.that have been increas.ngly reported to affect health and productivity of lives.ock.globally. It cuts.acros. the value chain, affecting farmers. mark.ts. and finally cons.mers. However, a?atoxin contamination is.a threatening is.ue in thes. s.aples.and its.negative effects.on human health, mos. es.ecially on infants.and young children, are very alarming. Among the cereals.in Burk.na Fas., the maize is.more vulnerable to contamination by As.ergillus.s.. The contamination of maize by the aflatoxin is.the main caus. affecting production of agricultural s.ctor, food s.curity and regularity. Many factors.are res.ons.ble for its.proliferating. Therefore aflatoxins.reduction in cereals.s.ch as.maize is.a s.rious.concern for quality and s.fety. Biomethane potential production from cas.ew nut hulls. an agricultural was.e, was.carried out us.ng old and fres. hulls.as.s.bs.rates. s.mples.were tak.n from old hulls.(around 8 years.old) and fres. hulls.produced in cas.ew s.ale trans.ormation units.at Bobo Dioulas.o/Burk.na Fas.. Phys.cochemical parameters.s.owed that cas.ew hulls.can be s.an>a good candidate for anaerobic digestion. But high acidity, total phenols and lignin tenor could be a constraint for anaerobic bacteria. Theoretical biochemical methane potential showed high value of 666.937 CHs.b>4s.b> L. (Kg VS)s.p>-1s.p> and 526.206 CHs.b>4s.b> L. (Kg VS)s.p>-1s.p> for crushed fresh and powdered old hulls, respectively. Experimental biochemical methane potential showed significantly low potential of 1.982 CHs.b>4s.b> L. (Kg VM)s.p>-1s.p> and 46.840 CHs.b>4s.b> L. (Kg VM)s.p>-s.an

The us. in agriculture of excreta from urine-divers.on toilets.can be an alternative s.lution to the lack.of s.nitation and high cos.s.of mineral fertilizers.inherent to developing countries. The objective of this.s.udy was.to evaluate the hygienic quality of urine us.d as.fertilizer through an ecological s.nitation s.s.em in Ouagadougou peri-urban areas. Chemical and microbiological analys.s.were performed in urine s.mples.tak.n before and after thirty (30) days.of s.orage in jerry cans.expos.d to s.nlight. The concentrations.of 7.0 g/l;3.5 and 9.6 g/l of ammonia nitrogen for mean, minimum and maximum res.ectively, are obtained in uns.ored urine s.mples. Thes. concentrations.did not practically vary with the s.orage. On average, values.of other chemical parameters.analyzed in s.ored urine were as.follows. pH, 8.8;phos.horus.(P), 0.3 g/l;potas.ium (k., 1.9 g/l;total dis.olved s.lids.(TDs., 21.0 g/l;cadmium (Cd), 154.3 μg/l;copper (Cu), 5.2 μg/l;lead (Pb), 15.2 μg/l;chromium (Cr), 6.1 μg/l;nick.l (Ni), 154.0 μg/l. Es.herichia coli, s.aphylococci, enterococci, s.lmonella and s.ores.of Clos.ridium perfringens.were detected in uns.ored urine s.mples. with 26% of fecal contamination rate. The time of s.orage (30 days. under s.nlight was.enough for almos. all bacteria removal in urine s.mples. Although the fertilizing value of urine was.confirmed, it would be important to tak. account of the bes. practices.on applying in s.ils. becaus. of the high TDs.contents. Als., the ris.0}link.d to micropollutants.in urine-bas.d fertilizers.could be negligible in view of low quantities. The res.lts.obtained in this.s.udy prove that after 30 days.of expos.re to s.nlight urine collected via eco-toilet becomes.bacteriologically s.nitized, and can therefore be us.d to fertilize s.ils. However, it is.neces.ary to demons.rate the inactivation of other groups.of enteric microorganis.s.in human urine during s.orage.

The pH evolution and biogas.(CH4 and CO2) production were followed for 25 days. Cultures.tend to acidify with increas. in cow dung proportion. Biogas.production was.s.gnificantly higher (p s. level of CO2 production (40%). Als. C7 and C6 retained in the experiment contained res.ectively organic matter, volatile fatty acids.(VFA) and total alk.linity (TAC) as.41.06%, 47.02%, 1320 mg acetic acid/L, 3036 mg Acetic acid/L and 520 mg CaCO3/L, 1310 mg CaCO3/L. Mixture C6 was.the bes. medium for microorganis. proliferation s.ability with 3.5 × 105 UFC/ml of methanogens.bacteria. It als. pos.es.ed buffering capacity, which prevents.acidification of medium during VFAs.production.
