Objective:A natural cyclic peptide previously isolated from Citrus medica was synthesized by coupling of tetrapep-tide units Boc-Leu-Pro-Trp-Leu-OMe and Boc-Ile-Ala-Ala-Gly-OMe after proper deprotection at carboxyl and amino terminals followed by cyclization of linear octapeptide segment. Methods:solution phase technique was adopted for the synthesis of cyclooctapeptide-sarcodactylamide. Required tetrapeptide units were prepared by coupling of Boc-protected dipeptides viz. Boc-Leu-Pro-OH and Boc-Ile-Ala-OH with respective dipeptide methyl esters Trp-Leu-OMe and Ala-Gly-OMe. Cyclization of linear octapeptide unit was done by p-nitrophenyl ester method. The structure of synthesized cyclopolypeptide was elucidated by FTIR,1H NMR,13C NMR,FABMs spectral data and elemental analysis. The newly synthesized peptide was evaluated for dif-ferent pharmacological activities including antimicrobial,anthelmintic and cytotoxic activities. Results:synthesis of sarcodac-tylamide was accomplished with >78% yield utilizing dicyclohexylcarbodiimide(DCC) as coupling agent. Newly synthesized peptide possessed potent cytotoxic activity against Dalton's lymphoma ascites(DLA) and Ehrlich's ascites carcinoma(EAC) cell lines,in addition to moderate anthelmintic activity against earthworms Megascoplex konkanensis,Pontoscotex corethruses and Eudrilus sp. Moreover,cyclopolypeptide displayed good antimicrobial activity against pathogenic fungi Candida albicans and Gram-negative bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa,in comparison to standard drugs griseofulvin and ciprofloxacin. Conclusion:solution phase technique employing DCC and triethylamine(TEA) as base proved to be effective for the synthesis of natural cyclooctapeptide. N-methyl morpholine(NMM) was found to be a better base for the cyclization of linear octapeptide unit in comparison to TEA and pyridine.

In this paper, we introduce the fractional wavelet transformations （FrWT） involving Han- kel-Clifford integral transformation （HCIIT） on the positive half line and studied some of its basic properties. Also we obtain Parseval＇s relation and an inversion formula. Examples of fractional powers of Hankel-Clifford integral transformation （FrHClIT） and FrWT are given. Then, we introduce the concept of fractional wavelet packet transformations FrBWPT and FrWPIT, and investigate their properties.

Objective: To determine the relationship between C-reactive protein(CRP) level and the severity of dengue and the potential use of CRP in predicting acute dengue ***: A prospective observational study was performed on dengue patients admitted to a tertiary care hospital in southern India. All patients of age above 18 years, diagnosed with dengue were included in the study. The detailed laboratory parameters pertaining to dengue were recorded. CRP levels were estimated and compared between groups i.e. severe and non-severe dengue. CRP cut-off value was detected using the receiver-operator ***: Totally 98 patients with a mean age of 40 years were included. Among them, 11.2% of the patients suffered from severe dengue, 54.1% of the cases had non-severe dengue without warning signs, and 34.7% had non-severe dengue with warning signs. The median CRP was significantly higher in patients with severe dengue compared to patients with non-severe dengue(96.2 mg/d L vs. 5.3 mg/d L). Univariate logistic regression analysis showed that the odd’s ratio(OR) of CRP was 1.053(P≤0.001, 95% CI=1.029-1.078). CRP at a cutoff value of 21.6 mg/L(0.929 AUC) had excellent sensitivity(100%) and specificity(81.6%) in predicting severe dengue infection. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that CRP(OR=1.089, P=0.013) and ALT(OR=1.010, P=0.034) were statistically significant independent predictors of dengue ***: CRP level could be used as a potential biomarker to predict severity of dengue in adults.

This article is concerned with the study of pseudo-differential operators associated with fractional Hankel transform. The product of two fractional pseudo-differential operators is defined and investigated its basic properties on some function space. It is shown that the pseudo-differential operators and their products are bounded in sobolev type spaces. Particular cases are discussed.
