Background： The objective of the study was to evaluate the effect of overfeeding a moderate energy diet and a2,4-thiazolidinedione（TZD） injection on blood and hepatic tissue biomarkers of lipid metabolism, oxidative stress,and inflammation as it relates to insulin ***： Fourteen dry non-pregnant cows were fed a control（CON） diet to meet 100% of NRC requirements for3 wk, after which half of the cows were assigned to a moderate-energy diet（OVE） and half of the cows continued on CON for 6 wk. All cows received an intravenous injection of 4 mg TZD/kg of body weight（BW） daily from 2 wk after initiation of dietary treatments and for 2 additional week. Compared with CON cows and before TZD treatment, the OVE cows had lower concentration of total protein, urea and albumin over time. The concentration of cholesterol and tocopherol was greater after 2 wk of TZD regardless of diet. Before and after TZD, the OVE cows had greater concentrations of AST/GOT, while concentrations of paraoxonase, total protein, globulin, myeloperoxidase, and haptoglobin were lower compared with CON cows. Regardless of diet, TZD administration increased the concentration of ceruloplasmin, ROMt, cholesterol, tocopherol, total protein, globulin, myeloperoxidase and beta-carotene. In contrast,the concentration of haptoglobin decreased at the end of TZD injection regardless of diet. Prior to TZD injection, the mR NA expression of PC, ANGPTL4, FGF21, INSR, ACOX1, and PPARD in liver of OVE cows was lower compared with CON cows. In contrast, the expression of HMGCS2 was greater in OVE compared with CON cows. After 1 wk of TZD administration the expression of IRS1 decreased regardless of diet; whereas, expression of INSR increased after 2 wk of TZD injection. Cows fed OVE had lower overal expression of TNF, INSR, PC, ACOX1, FGF21, and PPARD but greater HMGCS2 expression. This paper presents modeling of Distribution STATCOM (D-STATCOM) in load flow calculations for the steady- state voltage compensation. An accurate model for D-STATCOM is derived to use in load flow calculations. The rating of this device as well as the direction of required reactive power injection for voltage compensation in the desired value (1 p.u.) is de- rived and discussed analytically and mathematically by the phasor diagram method. Furthermore, an efficient method for node and line identification used in load flow calculations is presented. The validity of the proposed model is examined by using two standard distribution systems consisting of 33 and 69 nodes, respectively. The best location of D-STATCOM for under voltage problem mitigation approach in the distribution networks is determined. The results validate the proposed model for D- STATCOM in large distribution systems.

An analytical solution was used to investigate the elastic response of a sandwich beam with a graphene-reinforced aluminum-based composite(GRAC)on an elastic foundation using copper as the face layer of the functionally graded composite beam and a simply supported boundary ***'s higher-order shear deformation theory was utilized to derive the equations,which were solved in Laplace space and then converted into space–time using Laplace *** exact response of the GRAC sandwich beam was obtained by considering the displacement at the mid-span of the sandwich *** moving loads with different speed ratios were applied at a single point,and the effect of various parameters,including the spring constant,the speed ratio,the percentage of graphene,the moving load speed,and the distribution pattern,was *** study aimed to eliminate any overlap and improve the accuracy of the *** exact solving method presented has not been reported in other articles so ***,due to the difficulty of solving mathematical equations,this method is only applicable to simple boundary conditions.

In this paper;the dynamic characteristics of a semi-active magnetorheological fluid(MRF)engine mount are *** do so,the performance of the MRF engine mount is experimentally examined in higher frequencies(50~170 Hz)and the various amplitudes(0.01~0.2 mm).In such an examination,an MRF engine mount along with its magnetically biased is fabricated and successfully *** addition,the natural frequencies of the system are obtained by standard hammer modal *** modelling the behavior of the system,a mass-spring-damper model with tuned PID coefficients based on Pessen integral of absolute error method is *** parameters of such a model including mass,damping ratio,and stiffness are identified with the help of experimental modal tests and the recursive least square method(RLS).It is shown that using PID controller leads to reducing the vibration transmissibility in the resonance frequency(=93.45 Hz)with respect to the typical passive engine mount by a factor of 58%.The average of the vibration transmissibility decreasing is also 43%within frequency bandwidth(50~170 Hz).

Land-use changes and land cover strongly influence carbon stock and distribution within ecosystems. Changing the land-use from natural forest to other land-uses has been more rapid in the past few decades than at any time in Iran＇s history. In this study, we investigated the effects of changing the land-use from natural forest to other land-uses on carbon stocks in northern Iran. We selected five sites for this study：（I） a natural forest, （II） an agricultural field and （III） plantations of three different species （Alnus subcordata .L, Acer velutinum .Boiss and Cu- pressus sempervirens）. We examined the effects of land-use changes on：（I） soil carbon stock （0-50 cm depth）, （II） biomass and carbon content of grassy vegetation and litter and （III） above- and below-ground biomass C in trees. Soil C stock was higher under A. velutinum and C. sempervirens whereas it was lower under A. subcordata and agricultural sites. Biomass and C content of grassy vegetation were significantly higher at A. veluti- num and C. sempervirens plantations. However, litter biomass and C content were significantly higher at the natural forest site. Natural forest had the highest amount of C content in above- and below-ground bio- mass. Total ecosystem C stocks declined following land-use changes.

The suitability of six higher order root solvers is examined for solving the nonlinear equilibrium equations in large deformation analysis of *** applied methods have a better convergence rate than the quadratic Newton-Raphson *** six methods do not require higher order derivatives to achieve a higher convergence *** algorithms are developed to use the higher order methods in place of the Newton-Raphson method to solve the nonlinear equilibrium equations in geometrically nonlinear analysis of *** higher order methods are applied to both continuum and discrete problems(spherical shell and dome truss).The computational cost and the sensitivity of the higher order solution methods and the Newton-Raphson method with respect to the load increment size are comparatively *** numerical results reveal that the higher order methods require a lower number of iterations that the Newton-Raphson method to *** is also shown that these methods are less sensitive to the variation of the load increment *** it is indicated in numerical results,the average residual reduces in a lower number of iterations by the application of the higher order methods in the nonlinear analysis of structures.

In this study, nonlinear static and dynamic responses of a microcantilever with a T-shaped tip mass excited by electrostatic actuations are investigated. The electrostatic force is generated by applying an electric voltage between the horizontal part of T-shaped tip mass and an opposite electrode plate. The cantilever microbeam is modeled as an Euler-Bernoulli beam. The T-shaped tip mass is assumed to be a rigid body and the nonlinear effect of electrostatic force is considered. An equation of motion and its associated boundary conditions are derived by the aid of combining the Hamilton principle and Newton’s method. An exact solution is obtained for static deflection and mode shape of vibration around the static position. The differential equation of nonlinear vibration around the static position is discretized using the Galerkin method. The system mode shapes are used as its related comparison functions. The discretized equations are solved by the perturbation theory in the neighborhood of primary and subharmonic resonances. In addition, effects of mass inertia, mass moment of inertia as well as rotation of the T-shaped mass, which were ignored in previous works, are considered in the analysis. It is shown that by increasing the length of the horizontal part of the T-shaped mass, the amount of static deflection increases, natural frequency decreases and nonlinear shift of the resonance frequency increases. It is concluded that attaching an electrode plate with a T-shaped configuration to the end of the cantilever microbeam results in a configuration with larger pull-in voltage and smaller nonlinear shift of the resonance frequency compared to the configuration in which the electrode plate is directly attached to it.

A recently developed backward extrusion method entitled “modified backward extrusion” was presented using an upper bound analysis. For this purpose deformation area was divided into four distinct zones and a kinematically admissible velocity field for each of them was suggested. Total dissipated power was calculated for the deformation zones and the extrusion power wascomputed. The correlations of important geometrical parameters with extrusion force and dissipated powers were shown. Finding the initial billet size, a challenging area in the modified backward extrusion method, was discussed and the optimum billet radius was obtained, considering the minimum relative extrusion pressure. Finite element analyses were conducted and the results werecompared with the upper bound analysis. Finally, experiments were executed on commercially pure aluminium and a good agreement between upper bound and finite element analyses with experimental values was observed.
