Introduction Endoscopy is a core component of gastroenterology training[1],yet there are no guidelines on how endoscopists should teach the procedure[2].Across most programs in the USA,endoscopy training follows an apprenticeship model,in which trainees develop skills through supervised,hands-on practice[3].Although some programs use assessment tools to determine proficiency in performing endoscopy procedures,most rely principally on procedural volume and subjective *** a result,endoscopic training is variable across and within institutions.

Under the assumption that the underlying measure is a non-negative Radon measure which only satisfies some growth condition and may not be doubling, we define the product of functions in the regular BMO and the atomic block -~1 in the sense of distribution, and show that this product may be split into two parts, one in l1 and the other in some Hardy-Orlicz space.

In this paper, we analyze variation in spectral reflectance and color pattern among populations to demonstrate dra-matic divergence between four distinct morphs of the mimic poison frog Ranitomeya imitator. We also analyze genetic diver-gence in d-loop mtDNA sequences between populations. We then use coalescent-based simulations to demonstrate that the high levels of observed phenotypic divergence are not consistent with levels of genetic divergence expected under neutral drift among populations, implying an important role for selection in driving divergence between these populations .

Background： In Western North America, increasing wildfire and outbreaks of native bark beetles have been mediated by warming climate conditions. Bioclimatic models forecast the loss of key high elevation species throughout the region. This study uses retrospective vegetation and fire history data to reconstruct the drivers of past disturbance and environmental change. Understanding the relationship among climate, antecedent disturbances, and the legacy effects of settlement-era logging can help identify the patterns and processes that create landscapes susceptible to bark beetle epidemics. Methods： Our analysis uses data from lake sediment cores, stand inventories, and historical records. Sediment cores were dated with radiometric techniques （14C and 210pb/137Cs） and subsampled for pollen and charcoal to maximize the temporal resolution during the historical period （1800 CE to present） and to provide environmental baseline data （last 10,500 years）. Pollen data for spruce were calibrated to carbon biomass （C t/ha） using standard allometric equations and a transfer function. Charcoal samples were analyzed with statistical models to facilitate peak detection and determine fire recurrence intervals. Results： The Wasatch Plateau has been dominated by Engelmann spruce forests for the last ～10,500 years, with subalpine fir becoming more prominent since 6000 years ago. This landscape has experienced a dynamic fire regime, where burning events are more frequent and of higher magnitude during the last 3000 years. Two important disturbances have impacted Engelmann spruce in the historical period： 1） high-grade logging during the late 19th century; and （2） a high severity spruce beetle outbreak in the late 20th century that killed 〉90 % of mature spruce （〉10 cm dbh）. Conclusions： Our study shows that spruce-dominated forests in this region are resilient to a range of climate and disturbance regimes. AIM： To distinguish anastomotic from parenchymal leakage at duct-to-mucosa reconstruction of the pancreatic remnant. METHODS： We reviewed the charts of 68 pancreaticoduodenectomies performed between 5/2000 and 12/2005 with end-to-side duct-to-mucosa pancreatojejunostomy （PJ）. The results of pancreatography, as well as peripancreatic drain volumes, and amylase levels were analyzed. RESUlTS： Of 68 pancreatojejunostomies, 48 had no leak by pancreatography and had low-drain amylase （normal）; eight had no pancreatographic leak but had elevated drain amylase （parenchymal leak）; and 12 had pancreatographic leak and elevated drain amylase （anastomotic leak）. Although drain volumes in the parenchymal leak group were significantly elevated at postoperative day （POD） 4, no difference was found at POD 7. Drain amylase level was not significantly different at POD 4. In contrast, at POD 7, the anastomotic-leak group had significantly elevated drain amylase level compared with normal and parenchymalleak groups （14158 ＋ 24083 IU/l vs 89 ＋ 139 IU/l and 1707 ＋ 1515 IU/l, respectively, P = 0.012）. CONClUSION： For pancreatic remnant reconstruction after pancreaticoduodenectomy, a combination of pancreatogram and peripancreatic drain amylase levels can be used to distinguish between parenchymal and anastomotic leakage at pancreatic remnant reconstruction.

A novel tri-layer approach for immobilizing metal nanoparticles in SiO2 supports is *** this work,we show that under rapid heating to temperatures of approximately 1,000 ℃,metal nanoparticles less than 15 nm in size will entrench in the SiO2 layer on a silicon wafer to create pores as deep as 250 *** studied and characterized this entrenching behavior and subsequent nanopore formation for a wide variety of metal nanoparticles,including Au,Ag,Pt,Pd,and *** also demonstrate that an Al2O3 layer acts as a barrier to such pore ***,by creating a tri-layer architecture consisting of SiO2 on Al2O3 on silicon wafers,we can control the depth to which nanoparticles entrench between 3-5 *** small range allows one to entrench particles for the purpose of immobilization but still present them above the *** two advances of moving into the sub-15 nm size regime and of controlled particle immobilization through entrenchment have important implications in studying site-isolated and stabilized metal nanoparticles for applications in sensing,separations,and catalysis.
