Brilliant red X-3B uptake by a novel polycyclodextrin-modified magnetic cationic hydrogel:Performance,kinetics and mechanism

A novel polycyclodextrin-modified magnetic cationic hydrogel(PCD-MCH) was developed and its performance,kinetics and mechanism for the removal of reactive brilliant red X-3B(X-3B) were *** results showed that the zeta-potential of PCD-MCH was 32.8 to16.7 mV at pH *** maximum X-3B adsorption capacity of PCD-MCH was2792.3 mg/*** adsorption kinetics could be well-described by the Weber-Morris model and the homogeneous surface diffusion model(HSDM).Diffusion stages corresponding to surface or film diffusion,intra-particle or wide mesopore diffusion,and narrow mesopore/micropore diffusion occurred at 0-120,120-480 and 480-1200 min,*** latter two diffusion stages were rate-controlling for X-3B adsorption *** the initial X-3B concentration of 600 mg/L,the diffusion coefficient(Ds) and external mass transfer coefficient in the liquid phase(kF) were 3x10^-11 cm^2/min and 4.68 x 10^-6 cm/min,respectively.X-3B approaching the center of PCD-MCH particles could be observed at 360 *** the end of the third diffusion stage,the Cp at q/qe=0 was 45.20 mg/L,which was close to the homogeneous Cp value of 46 mg/L along the radius of PCD-MCH *** pH 3.0-10.0,PCD-MCH showed stable X-3B adsorption *** five regeneration-reuse cycles,the residual adsorption capacity of regenerated PCD-MCH was higher than 892.7 mg/*** corresponding adsorption mechanism was identified as involving electrostatic interactions,cyclodextrin cavities and hydrogen bonds,of which cyclodextrin cavities showed prominent capture performance towards dye molecules through the formation of inclusion complexes.

Hopf Bifurcation Research of Hydraulic Turbine Governing System with a Saturation Nonlinearity

A nonlinear mathematical model for hydro turbine governing system with saturation nonlinearity in small perturbation has been proposed with all the essential components, i.e. turbine, PID t^^pe governor with saturation part and generator included in the model. Existence, stability and direction of Hopf bifurcation of an example HTGS are investigated in detail and presented in forms of bifurcation diagrams and time ＂wavefomis. The analysis show,that a supercritical Hopf bifurcation may exist in hydraulic turbine systems in some certain conditions. Moreover, the dynaiidc behavior of system with different parameters such as Tw, Tab, Ty and 尺 are studied extensively. An example with numerical simulations is presented to illustrate the theoretical results. The researches provide a reasonable explanation for the Hopf phenomenon happened in operation of hydroelectric generating unit.

High-yield production of carbon nanotubes from waste polyethylene and fabrication of graphene-carbon nanotube aerogels with excellent adsorption capacity

Waste plastics recycling and oil/organics remediation are environmental issues of global *** this work,a protectant was introduced,for the first time,to make highly efficient catalysts for pyrolysis of waste plastics into carbon nanotubes(CNTs)with high *** using waste polyethylene,Co(NO_(3))_(2) and oleylamine respectively as carbon source,catalyst precursor and protectant,a yield as high as 59.0%was *** CNTs exhibited a high adsorption capacity for methylene blue(up to 107.1 mg/g).Furthermore,by combining the CNTs with graphene oxide,a graphene-CNT aerogel with a low density of8.2 mg/cm^(3)and high porosity of 96.0%was successfully *** showed excellent hydrophobicity and mechanical stability,as well as high adsorption capacity of 289-410 g/g oil/organic solvent,which was much higher than most of these achieved by carbon-based three-dimensional materials reported previously,making the as-prepared aerogel a very promising adsorbent for oil/water separation.

A study of long-term sea level variability in the East China Sea

From the analyses of the satellite altimeter Maps of Sea Level Anomaly （MSLA） data, tidal gauge sea level data and historical sea level data, this paper investigates the long-term sea level variability in the East China Sea （ECS）. Based on the correlation analysis, we calculate the correlation coefficient between tidal gauge and the closest MSLA grid point, then generate the map of correlation coefficient of the entire ECS. The results show that the satellite altimeter MSLA data is effective to observe coastal sea level variability. An important finding is that from map of correlation coefficient we can identify the Kuroshio. The existence of Kuroshio decreases the correlation between coastal and the Pacific sea level. Kurishio likes a barrier or a wall, which blocks the effect of the Pacific and the global change. Moreover, coastal sea level in the ECS is mainly associated with local systems rather than global change. In order to calculate the long-term sea level variability trend, the empirical mode decomposition （EMD） method is applied to derive the trend on each MSLA grid point in the entire ECS. According to the 2-D distribution of the trend and rising rate, the sea level on the right side of the axis of Kuroshio rise faster than in its left side. This result supports the barrier effect of Kuroshio in the ECS. For the entire ECS, the average sea level rose 45.0 mm between 1993 and 2010, with a rising rate of （2.5_＋0.4） mm/a which is slower than global average. The relatively slower sea level rising rate further proves that sea level rise in the ECS has less response to global change due to its own local system effect.

A chorismate mutase from Radopholus similis plays an essential role in pathogenicity

In the process of infecting plants, plant parasitic nematodes release a series of proteins that play an essential role in the successful infection and pathogenesis of plant cells and tissues through stylets or body walls. In this study,based on transcriptome data, a chorismate mutase gene of Radopholus similis(RsCM) was identified and cloned,which is a single copy gene specifically expressed in the oesophageal gland and highly expressed in juveniles and females. Transient expression of RsCM in tobacco leaves showed that it was localised in the cytoplasm and nucleus of tobacco leaf cells, which inhibited the pattern-triggered immunity(PTI) induced by flg22, including callose deposition and defence gene expression, and cell death induced by immune elicitors BAX, but could not inhibit cell death induced by immune elicitors Gpa2/RBP-1. The RNA interference(RNAi) transgenic tomato of RsCM obviously inhibited the infection, pathogenicity, and reproduction of R. similis. However, the resistance of the overexpression transgenic tomato of RsCM to R. similis infection was significantly reduced, and the expression levels of two salicylic acid(SA) pathway genes(PR1 and PR5) in roots infected by the nematode were significantly down-regulated,which indicated that RsCM might be involved in the inhibition of SA pathway. The results of this study demonstrate that RsCM suppresses the host immune system and might be a new target for the control of R. similis, which also provides new data for the function and mechanism of CM genes of migratory parasitic plant nematodes.

We propose an efficient scheme that combines density functional theory(DFT)with deep potentials(DPs),to systematically study convergence issues in the computation of the electronic thermal conductivity of warm dense aluminum(2.7 g/cm^(3)and temperatures ranging from 0.5 eV to 5.0 eV)with respect to the number of k-points,the number of atoms,the broadening parameter,the exchange-correlation functionals,and the ***,we obtain the ionic thermal conductivity using the Green–Kubo method in conjunction with DP molecular dynamics simulations,and we study size effects on the ionic thermal *** work demonstrates that the proposed method is efficient in evaluating both electronic and ionic thermal conductivities of materials.

Wavelet analysis of coastal-trapped waves along the China coast generated by winter storms in 2008

This study applies the wavelet analysis to the tidal gauge records, alongshore winds, atmospheric temperature and pressure along the China coast in winter 2008. The analysis results show three events of sea level oscillations （SLOs） on the shelf induced by winter storms. The first event occurred from January 9 to 21. The SLO periods were double-peaked at 1.6-5.3 and 7.0-16.0 d with the power densities of 0.04-0.05 and 0.10-0.15 m^2.d, respectively. The second event occurred from February 5 to 18. The SLO period was single-peaked at 2.3-3.5 d with power density of 0.03-0.04 m^2.d. The third event occurred from February 20 to March 8. The SLO periods were double- peaked at 1.5-4.3 and 6.1-8.2 d with the power densities of 0.08-0.11 and 0.02-0.08 me.d, respectively. The SLOs propagated along the coast from Zhejiang in north to Guangdong in south. The phase speeds ranged about 9-29 m/s from Kanmen to Pingtan, 5-11 m/s from Xiamen to Huizhou and 11-22 m/s from Huizhou to Shuidong. The dispersion relation of the SLOs shows their nature of coastal-trapped wave.

China-France Oceanography Satellite (CFOSAT) simultaneously observes the typhoon-induced wind and wave fields

The China-France oceanography satellite(CFOSAT)developed by the China National Space Administration(CNSA)and Centre National D’Etudes Spatiales(CNES)was successfully launched into its orbit on October 29,*** Chinese wind scatterometer(SCAT)with swath width of about 1000 km and French wave spectrometer(Surface Wave Investigation and Monitoring,SWIM)with swath width of about 180 km onboard the CFOSAT are in line with all requirements and performing ***,it is the first time that CFOSAT provides simultaneous and co-located observations of wind and wave fields with high spatial resolutions of 12.5 km×12.5 km for the winds and 70 km×90 km for the wave directional *** real-time and large-scale monitoring of wind and wave fields are of great significance for navigation and human activities on the sea(Xu et al.,2010;Tan et al.,2018;Sun et al.,2019),especially during severe typhoon processes when violent winds and hazardous waves occur(Walsh et al.,2002;Zhou et al.,2008).

Synthesis of sulfur doped C_(3)N_(4) with enhanced photocatalytic activity in molten salt

In this paper,sulfur doped g-C_(3)N_(4)(S-g-C_(3)N_(4))was successfully prepared at 500℃ for 3 h via a modified molten salt method using dicyandiamide as the main raw material,trithiocyanuric acid as the sulfur source and liBreKCl as the reaction *** as-prepared SeCN5.0% sample(the mass ratio of trithiocyanuric acid to dicyandiamide was 5.0%)composed of irregular flakes showed a band gap of 1.83 eV,which was narrower than that(2.55 eV)of pristine g-C_(3)N_(4).The SeCN5.0% sample also exhibited an outstanding absorption capacity of visible ***,the photodegradation rate toward methylene blue and tetracycline were respectively 10 and 20 times as high as that of bulk g-C_(3)N_(4) prepared by conventional heating methods,confirming its superior photocatalytic *** results can be attributed to that the replacement of lattice nitrogen with sulfur atom tuned the electronic structure of g-C_(3)N_(4),improved the absorption of visible light,optimized the separation of photogenerated electron-hole pairs,and consequently enhanced the photocatalytic activity of g-C_(3)N_(4).Moreover,the trapping experiments implied that hole(ht)and superoxide radical($O2)were the main active species in the process of photodegradation.
