Due to global climate change,Korea is facing severe droughts that affect the planting and early vegetative periods of upland *** and adzuki bean are important legume crops in Korea,so it is critical to understand their adaptations to water *** study investigated the changes in root morphological properties in soybean and adzuki bean and quantified the findings using fractal *** experiment was performed at the National Institute of Crop Science in Miryang,*** and adzuki beans were planted in test boxes and grown for 30 *** boxes were filled with bed soil with various soil moisture *** images were obtained and scanned every two days,and the root properties were characterized by root length,depth and surface area,number of roots,and fractal parameters(fractal dimension and lacunarity).Root depth,length and surface area and the number of roots increased in both crops as the soil moisture content *** fractal dimension and lacunarity values increased as the soil moisture content *** results indicated that the greater the soil moisture,the more heterogeneous the root *** analysis of the morphological properties and fractal parameters indicated that soybean and adzuki bean had different root structure *** soybean and adzuki bean were sensitive to the amount of soil moisture in the early vegetative *** required a soil moisture content greater than 70%of the field capacity to develop a full root structure,while adzuki bean required 100%of the field *** results would be useful in understanding the responses of soybean and adzuki bean to water stress and managing irrigation during cultivation.

Background:Pancreatic cysts are ***,most studies are based on data collected from individual *** present study aimed to evaluate the changes of management patterns for pancreatic cystic lesions(PCLs)by analyzing large epidemiologic ***:Between January 2007 and December 2018,information regarding pancreatic cystic lesions was acquired from the nationwide Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service database in ***:The final number of patients with pancreatic cysts was 165277 among the total claims for reimbursement of 855983 associated with PCLs over 12 *** total number of claims were increased from 19453 in 2007 to 155842 in 2018 and the prevalence increased from 0.04%to 0.23%.For 12 years,2874(1.7%)had pancreatic cancer and 8212(5.0%)underwent surgery,and 36 had surgery for twice(total 8248 pancreatectomy).After ruling out claims from the first 3 years of washout period,the incidence increased from 9891 to 24651 and the crude incidence rate of PCLs expanded from 19.96 per 100000 to 47.77 per *** to specific neoplasm codes(D136 or D377),the use of pancreatic cyst code(K862)has been remarkably increased and the most common since *** annual number of pancreatectomies increased from 518 to 861 between 2007 and 2012,and decreased to 596 until *** percentage of pancreatic cancer in patients who received pancreatectomy increased from 5.6%in 2007 to 11.7%in ***:The incidence of PCLs is rapidly *** PCLs,indeterminate cyst is increasing outstandingly.A trend of decreasing in the number of resections and increasing cancer rates among resected cysts may be attributed to the updated international guidelines.

AIM:To evaluate clinical validity of the compression anastomosis ring(CARTM27) anastomosis in left-sided colonic resection. METHODS:A non-randomized prospective data collection was performed for patients undergoing an elective left-sided colon resection,followed by an anastomosis using the CARTM27 between November 2009 and January *** criteria of the use of the CARTM27 were anastomoses between the colon and at or above the intraperitoneal *** primary short-term clinical endpoint,rate of anastomotic leakage,and other clinical outcomes,including intraand postoperative complications,length of operation time and hospital stay,and the ring elimination time were evaluated. Neurodegenerative disease is a brain disorder caused by the loss of structure andfunction of neurons that lowers the quality of human life. Apart from the limitedpotential for endogenous regeneration, stem cell-based therapies hold considerablepromise for maintaining homeostatic tissue regeneration and enhancingplasticity. Despite many studies, there remains insufficient evidence for stem celltracing and its correlation with endogenous neural cells in brain tissue with threedimensionalstructures. Recent advancements in tissue optical clearing techniqueshave been developed to overcome the existing shortcomings of cross-sectionaltissue analysis in thick and complex tissues. This review focuses on recentprogress of stem cell treatments to improve neurodegenerative disease, andintroduces tissue optical clearing techniques that can implement a threedimensionalimage as a proof of concept. This review provides a more comprehensiveunderstanding of stem cell tracing that will play an important role inevaluating therapeutic efficacy and cellular interrelationship for regeneration inneurodegenerative diseases.

AIM: To provide appropriate treatment, it is crucial to share the clinical status of pancreas head cancer among multidisciplinary treatment ***: A retrospective analysis of the medical records of 113 patients who underwent surgery for pancreas head cancer from January 2008 to December 2012 was performed. We developed preoperative defining system of pancreatic head cancer by describing “resectability - tumor location - vascular relationship - adjacent organ involvement - preoperative CA19-9 (initial bilirubin level) - vascular anomaly”. The oncologic correlations with this reporting system were ***: Among 113 patients, there were 75 patients (66.4%) with resectable, 34 patients (30.1%) with borderline resectable, and 4 patients (3.5%) with locally advanced pancreatic cancer. Mean disease-free survival was 24.8 mo (95%CI: 19.6-30.1) with a 5-year disease-free survival rate of 13.5%. Pretreatment tumor size ≥ 2.4 cm [Exp(B) = 3.608, 95%CI: 1.512-8.609, P = 0.044] and radiologic vascular invasion [Exp(B) = 5.553, 95%CI: 2.269-14.589, P = 0.002] were independent predictive factors for neoadjuvant treatment. Borderline resectability [Exp(B) = 0.222, P = 0.008], pancreatic head cancer involving the pancreatic neck [Exp(B) = 9.461, P = 0.001] and arterial invasion [Exp(B) = 6.208, P = 0.010], and adjusted CA19-9 ≥ 50 [Exp(B) = 1.972 P = 0.019] were identified as prognostic clinical factors to predict tumor ***: The suggested preoperative defining system can help with designing treatment plans and also predict oncologic outcomes.
