Ultra-high quality(Q) whispering gallery mode(WGM) microtoroid optical resonators have demonstrated highly sensitive biomolecular detection down to the single molecule limit;however, the lack of a robust coupling method has prevented their widespread adoption outside the laboratory. We demonstrate through simulation that a phased array of nanorods can enable free-space coupling of light both into and out of a microtoroid while maintaining a high Q. To simulate large nanostructured WGM resonators, we developed a new approach known as FloWBEM,which is an efficient and compact 3d wedge model with custom boundary conditions that accurately simulate the resonant Fano interference between the traveling WGM waves and a nanorod array. depending on the excitation conditions, we find loaded Q factors of the driven system as high as 2.1 × 10~7 and signal-to-background ratios as high as 3.86%, greater than the noise levels of many commercial detectors. These results can drive future experimental implementation.

Single-molecule detection is one of the fundamental challenges of modern *** experiments often use labels that can be expensive,difficult to produce,and for small analytes,might perturb the molecular events being *** size plays an important role in determining *** we use laser-frequency locking in the context of sensing to improve the signal-to-noise ratio of microtoroid optical resonators to the extent that single nanoparticles 2.5 nm in radius,and 15.5 kda molecules are detected in aqueous solution,thereby bringing these detectors to the size limits needed for detecting the key macromolecules of the *** results,covering several orders of magnitude of particle radius(100 nm to 2 nm),agree with the‘reactive’model prediction for the frequency shift of the resonator upon particle *** confirms that the main contribution of the frequency shift for the resonator upon particle binding is an increase in the effective path length due to part of the evanescent field coupling into the adsorbed *** anticipate that our results will enable many applications,including more sensitive medical diagnostics and fundamental studies of single receptor–ligand and protein–protein interactions in real time.

In today's rapidly developing information age,wireless communication has developed from the exchange of information between people to the ability to establish connections between everything,becoming the protagonist of the ***,its broadcast transmission method makes the information easy to be stolen by illegal eavesdroppers during the transmission process,which damages the basic rights of legal *** to the characteristics of low decoding overhead,low encoding and decoding complexity,and strong adaptability,LT codes have better anti-eavesdropping advantages in wiretapping channels,and the encoding method is one of the main factors affecting the performance of LT ***,in order to ensure the security of wireless transmission,from the perspective of physical layer channel coding,this paper takes LT code as the research object,studies its coding method,and proposes an improved method of LT code coding by reorganizing the RSd coding matrix with the best degree 1 to improve Anti-eavesdropping performance of LT codes in eavesdropping *** LT code adopts the BP decoding method,which starts to decode when it receives a code symbol of degree 1,while the traditional LT code generates a coding matrix based on the RSd degree distribution *** size distribution of the degree is random,if the encoding symbols of degree 1 are sent to the receiving end and the eavesdropper earlier,there is a possibility that the eavesdropper recovers the source encoding symbols before the legitimate receiver,so that the eavesdropper successfully steals *** this paper,aiming at the randomness of the moderate distribution of the coding matrix of the traditional LT code,an improved LT code coding method of coding matrix reorganization is proposed,and a new coding matrix is obtained by rearranging the columns in the coding matrix of the traditional LT code according to the degree value from large to small,aiming to move the coded symbols of degree

Smart mobile applications are software applications that are designed to run on smart phones, tablets, and other mobile electronic devices. In this era of rapid technological advances, these applications have become one of the primary tools we use daily both in our personal and professional lives. The applications play key roles in facilitating many applications that are pivotal in our today＇s society including communication, education, business, entertainment, medical, finance, travel, utilities, social, and transportation. This paper reviewed the opportunities and challenges of the applications related to transportation. The opportunities revealed include route planning, ridesharing/carpooling, traffic safety, parking information, transportation data collection, fuel emissions and consumption, and travel information. The potential users of these applications in the field of transportation include （I） transportation agencies for travel data collection, travel information, ridesharing/carpooling, and traffic safety, （2） engineering students for field data collection such as travel speed, travel time, and vehicle count, and （3） general traveling public for route planning, ridesharing/carpooling, parking, traffic safety, and travel information. Significant usage of smart mobile applications can be potentially very beneficial, particularly in automobile travel mode to reduce travel time, cost, and vehicle emissions. In the end this would make travel safer and living environments greener and healthier. However, road users＇ interactions with these applications could manually, visually, and cognitively divert their attention from the primary task of driving or walking. distracted road users expose themselves and others to unsafe behavior than undistracted. Road safety education and awareness programs are vital to discourage the use of applications that stimulate unsafe driving/walking behaviors. National and international publishers have been depositing digital publications at the National Library of the Netherlands (KB) since 2003. Until recently, most of these publications were deposited in the Portable document Format. New projects, for example the Web archiving project, force the KB to handle more heterogeneous material. Therefore, the KB has developed a quantifiable file format risk assessment method. This method can be used to define digital preservation strategies for specific file formats. The choice for a specific file format at creation time or later in the life cycle of a digital object influences the long-term access to the digital object. The evaluation method contains seven sustainability criteria for file formats that are weighed for importance. There seems to be consensus on the sustainability criteria. However, as the weighing of these criteria is connected to an institution's policy, the KB wonders whether agreement on the relative importance of the criteria can be reached at all. With this paper, the KB hopes to inspire other cultural heritage institutions to define their own quantifiable file format evaluation method.

Nanostructured ZnO and CuO, and coupled oxides, i.e., ZnCu, Zn2Cu, and ZnCu2, with ZnO:CuO molar ratios of 1:1, 2:1, and 1:2, respectively, were successfully prepared through a simple, one-step, microwave-assisted urea–nitrate combustion synthesis, without the use of organic solvents or surfactants. The prepared samples were characterized using X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray analysis, transmission electron microscopy, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The optical absorption of Zn O extended into the visible region after CuO loading. The photocatalytic activities of ZnO, CuO, and the coupled oxides were evaluated based on photodegradation of 2,4-dichlorophenol under visible-light irradiation. The coupled metal oxide Zn2Cu showed the best photocatalytic activity; this was mainly attributed to the extended photoresponsive range and the increased charge separation rate in the nanocomposite. The photocatalytic degradation process obeyed pseudo-first-order kinetics. The results suggest that the coupled metal oxide Zn2Cu has potential applications as an efficient catalytic material with high efficiency and recyclability for the photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants in aqueous solution under visible-light irradiation.

dear Editor, Phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase （PEPC） is the essential enzyme for initial carbon fixation in C4 photosynthesis. The C4-PEPC evolved from a non-photosynthetic C3 ancestor by subtle sequence changes resulting in distinctly different kinetic and regulatory characteristics （Svensson et al., 1997）. Malate and aspartate, which are formed from the carboxyla- tion product of PEPC, serve as feedback inhibitors of the PEPC （Wedding et al., 1990）. Higher malate or aspartate concen- trations during C4 photosynthesis require a reduced sensitiv- ity towards the feedback inhibitors of the C4-PEPC （Jacobs et al., 2008）.
