Electronic sensors based on biomaterials can lead to novel green technologies that are low cost,renewable,and *** we demonstrate bioelectronic ammonia sensors made from protein nanowires harvested from the microorganism Geobacter *** nanowire sensor responds to a broad range of ammonia concentrations(10 to 10^6 ppb),which covers the range relevant for industrial,environmental,and biomedical *** sensor also demonstrates high selectivity to ammonia compared to moisture and other common gases found in human *** results provide a proof-of-concept demonstration for developing protein nanowire based gas sensors for applications in industry,agriculture,environmental monitoring,and healthcare.

Background Forest ecosystems undergo significant transformations due to harvesting and climate fluctuations, emphasizing the critical role of seeding in natural regeneration and long-term structural preservation. Climate change further amplifies these dynamics, affecting phenology across species and regions. In Tierra del Fuego(Argentina), Nothofagus pumilio(lenga) forests represent the most important timber resource, and it is managed through different silvicultural strategies. This species demonstrates notable post-disturbance regeneration, yet seed fall exhibits signifi-cant variability, leading to variations in seed quality(e.g., viability). This study aims to assess fluctuations in N. pumilio seed quality, determine how it varies concerning forest management strategies, annual productivity, and the co-occurrence of climatic phenomena including El Ni?o-Southern Oscillation(ENSO) and the Southern Annular Mode(SAM).Results Viable seeds represented 18.4% of the total, notably higher in unharvested than in managed areas. Con-versely, empty seeds were more prevalent in harvested areas(> 75%). Seed quality exhibited significant differences across silvicultural treatments, except for insect-predated seeds, which had similar proportions across all areas, though dispersed retention showed higher predation. When considering years with varying production levels, high-production years favoured full and viable seeds, particularly in unharvested forests and aggregated retention, while low-production years saw reduced viability across all treatments. Quadratic models revealed that viability increased with seed production, where unharvested forests achieved the highest values. Climate variability influenced seed proportions, where ENSO+/SAM+ promoting more full and viable seeds, while ENSO–/SAM+ favoured non-predated seeds, especially in unharvested *** Seed quality varies among treatments and years with different levels of seeding. Placing precise constraints on the timing of the India-Asia continental collision is essential to understand the successive geological and geomorphological evolution of the orogenic belt as well as the uplift mechanism of the Tibetan Plateau and their effects on climate,environment and *** on the extensive study of the sedimentary record on both sides of the Yarlung-Zangbo suture zone in Tibet,we review here the present state of knowledge on the timing of collision onset,discuss its possible diachroneity along strike,and reconstruct the early structural and topographic evolution of the Himalayan collided *** define continent-continent collision as the moment when the oceanic crust is completely consumed at one point where the two continental margins come into *** use two methods to constrain the timing of collision onset:(1) dating the provenance change from Indian to Asian recorded by deep-water turbidites near the suture zone,and(2) dating the age of unconformities on both sides of the suture *** first method allowed us to constrain precisely collision onset as middle Palaeocene(59±l Ma).Marine sedimentation persisted in the collisional zone for another 20-25 Ma locally in southern Tibet,and molassic-type deposition in the Indian foreland basin did not begin until another 10-15 Ma *** sedimentary evidence failed to firmly document any significant diachroneity of collision onset from the central Himalaya to the western Himalaya and Pakistan so *** on the Cenozoic stratigraphic record of the Tibetan Himalaya,four distinct stages can be identified in the early evolution of the Himalayan orogen:(1) middle Palaeocene-early Eocene earliest Eohimalayan stage(from 59 to 52 Ma):collision onset and filling of the deep-water trough along the suture zone while carbonate platform sedimentation persisted on the inner Indian margin;(2) early-middle Eocene early Eohimalayan stage(from 52 to 41 or 35 Ma):filling of intervening seaways and

Two new compounds, [Ni2（l1）（Py）6]Py·CH3OH（1） and [Ni3（lZ）2（PY）4]·2DMF（2）（H4l1=N,N＇-bisalicyl-bisthiocarbamide; H3l2=3-hydroxyl-2-naphthalene thiosemicarbazide; Py=pyridine; DMF=dimethyl fumarate）, based upon two thiosemicarbazone ligands have been obtained and characterized by elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared（FTIR） and X-ray diffraetion（XRD）. Compound 1 possesses a binuclear cluster, in which the bisalicylbisthi- ocarbamide acts as a hexadentate bridge. Compound 2 exhibits a linear trinuclear cluster with the triply-deprotonated ligand acting as pentadentate bridge. C--H…O, C--H…π and C--…S weak interactions further link these molecules to form interesting supramolecular networks.

The recently built China Digital Seismic Network consists of the China National Digital Seismic Network （CNDSN）, 31 regional seismic networks and several small aperture arrays with more than 1 000 stations including 850＋ broadband stations. It forms a gigantic seismic array that provides an unprecedented opportunity to study the Earth＇s deep interior besides its routine task of seismic monitoring. Many modern seismic studies rely on rotation of vertical and horizontal components in order to separate different types of seismic waves. Knowledge of the orientations of the two horizontal components thus is important to perform a correction rotation. We analyzed particle motions of teleseismic P waves recorded by the network and used them to estimate the northcomponent azimuth of each station. An SNR-weighted-multi-event method was introduced to obtain component azimuths that best explain the P-wave particle motions of all the events recorded at a station. The method provides robust estimates including a measurement error calculated from background noise levels. We found that about one third of the stations have some sort of problems, including misorientation of the two horizontal components, mislabeling and polarity reversal in one or more components. These problems need to be taken into account for any rotation based seismic studies.
