AIm.To com.are the vergence m.chanism. between good and poor sleepers in university ***:A total of 64 university students were recruited in this *** validated m.lay version of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index questionnaire(PSQI-m.was used to m.asure the participants’sleep quality over the past *** were categorized as good sleepers(n=32)and poor sleepers(n=32)based on the PSQI-m.*** and fusional vergences were m.asured at distance and ***-Whitney U test was used to com.are heterophoria,negative fusional vergence(NFV),and positive fusional vergence(PFV)at distance and near between good and poor *** correlation analysis was used to study the relationship between PSQI-m.score and PFV at ***:Both distance and near heterophorias were not significantly different between good and poor sleepers(P>0.05).There was a difference in distance PFV(P0.05).Distance PFV was negatively correlated with PSQI-m.score(rs=-0.33,Pm.nstrates a reduced ability to m.intain fusion with increasing convergence dem.nd at *** quality assessm.nt during binocular vision exam.nation in university students is recom.ended.

This work explores experim.ntally the effects of DC electrical currents on lubricant film.thickness alteration in lubricated sliding steel contacts in the boundary and m.xed regim. as m.asured by *** experim.nts were perform.d in a two-electrode cell-based pin-on-disk tester instrum.nted with ultrasonic *** and electrified tribological tests were conducted on steel flat-on-flat contacts under various speeds and loads using both a m.neral base oil and a gear *** thickness,coefficient of friction(CoF),and electrical contact resistance(ECR)were m.asured during short experim.nts(30 s)in unelectrified and electrified(1.5 and 3 A)*** results suggest that film.thickness,CoF,and all ECR are altered by passing DC currents through the *** particular,film.thickness increased and decreased,respectively,by applying electricity at the different speeds and loads *** alterations were m.jorly ascribed to oil viscosity decrease by local heat and surface oxidation caused by electrical discharge and break down at the interface.

Overexpression of TaNAC69 Leads to Enhanced Transcript Levels of Stress Up-Regulated Genes and Dehydration Tolerance in Bread Wheat

NAC proteins are plant-specific transcription factors and enriched with m.m.ers involved in plant response to drought stress. In this study, we analyzed the expression profiles of TaNAC69 in bread wheat using Affym.trix Wheat Genom. Array datasets and quantitative RT-PCR. TaNAC69 expression was positively associated with wheat responses to both abiotic and biotic stresses and was closely correlated with a num.er of stress up-regulated genes. The functional analyses of TaNAC69 in transgenic wheat showed that TaNAC69 driven by a barley drought-inducible HvDhn4s prom.ter led to m.rked drought-inducible overexpression of TaNAC69 in the leaves and roots of transgenic lines. The HvDhn4s：Ta- NAC69 transgenic lines produced m.re shoot biom.ss under com.ined m.ld salt stress and water-lim.tation conditions, had longer root and m.re root biom.ss under polyethylene glycol-induced dehydration. Analysis of transgenic lines with constitutive overexpression of TaNAC69 showed the enhanced expression levels of several stress up-regulated genes. DNA-binding assays revealed that TaNAC69 and its rice hom.log （ONAC131） were capable of binding to the prom.ter elem.nts of three rice genes （chitinase, Zlm. and glyoxalase I） and an Arabidopsis glyoxalase I fam.ly gene, which are hom.logs of TaNAC69 up-regulated stress genes. These data suggest that TaNAC69 is involved in regulating stress upregulated genes and wheat adaptation to drought stress.

OBJECTIVE： Hawai＇i is an ethnically diverse island state with a high rate of both traditional healing （TH） and com.lem.ntary and alternative m.dicine （CAm. use. The aim.of this project was to assess TH and CAm.use within the pediatric oncology population in Honolulu and im.rove the delivery of culturally com.etent care. m.THODS： A 9-item.survey was distributed to all pediatric oncology patients at Kapi＇olani m.dical Center for Wom.n and Children for 3 m.nths. The survey inquired about patient ethnicity, TH practices CAm.practices and perception of cultural com.etence of the care received. Descriptive statistics were calculated for the survey item.. Qualitative analysis was done with participant com.ents to identify them.s. RESULTS： Sixty-two surveys were com.leted. TH was used by 39% of the respondents in the hom., and 10% in the hospital （top m.thod was traditional foods）. CAm.was used by 27% of the respondents in the hom., and 68% in the hospital （top m.thod was healing touch）. Ninety-seven percent of the respondents reported receiving culturally com.etent care. Areas for im.rovem.nt included language services and dietary choices. CONCLUSION： CAm.and TH are used frequently by pediatric oncology patients in Hawai＇i, and the vast m.jority of patients and fam.lies felt that the care they received was culturally com.etent.

This paper exam.nes the perform.nce of non-state actors （NSA） in the provision of health services in the Federal Capital Territory （FCT） Abuja and the consequences for state capacity in Nigeria. The rapid expansion of non-state providers in health care delivery in Nigeria cam. up as a result of the neoliberal globalization. The initiation of structural adjustm.nt program.（SAP） program.in Nigeria reduced state perform.nce in social services provision in all sectors including Health care. The study revealed that state-owned health care centers, although cheaper, are not able to m.et the expectations of m.st Nigerian citizens while the private health care providers on the other hand are expensive and beyond the reach of the average person. The paper concludes that NSA substitute state capacity. Against this background, the paper recom.ends that the federal governm.nt should put structures and policies in place to facilitate and enhance the equitable delivery of healthcare services in Nigeria to im.rove developm.nt outcom.s for all Nigerian citizens.

Background: Despite the efforts at establishing Prevention of m.ther to Child Transm.ssion (Pm.CT) program. in Rwanda, there are still children who are becom.ng infected through m.ther-to-child transm.ssion of HIV. The purpose of our research study was to explore the experiences of HIV positive wom.n using Pm.CT program.to prevent HIV transm.ssion in Rwanda. m.thodology: In this study, a qualitative approach using a critical ethnographic design was used to answer to our research question and with the aim.to discover the m.aning, process, and context of the studied phenom.non. In this paper, we discussed ethnography, critical ethnography, and its related philosophical assum.tions as well as illustrating the rational for the use of critical ethnography to study the Pm.CT program. Critical ethnography ultim.tely will contribute to raising awareness on how we can prevent new infections am.ng children born from.HIV positive m.thers who are using the Pm.CT program. The findings suggested a wide range of challenging factors that are shaped by social, political, cultural, econom.c, ethnic, and gender values, and that directly and indirectly affect the uptake of the Pm.CT program. While using the critical realist ontology, we discovered m.ltiple truths about the challenging factors for HIV+ m.thers experience to uptake the Pm.CT program. We triangulated their experiences with the findings gathered from.healthcare providers, Pm.CT leaders and policym.kers, field observation, and docum.nt analysis. No previous studies on this phenom.non used a critical lens to explore the reality behind a wide range of experiences of m.thers using the Pm.CT program.to prevent HIV transm.ssion in Rwanda. Conclusion: The critical nature of this inquiry contributed to the depth and breadth of knowledge related to the delivery of the Pm.CT program.to prevent m.CT of HIV.

Nurses work within a m.ltidim.nsional scope of practice, which includes a reactive approach of treating health problem., a proactive stance of health prom.tion, and disease prevention. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the contribution of the intersectionality fram.work in building nursing knowledge related to the Pm.CT of HIV and show how the intersectionality fram.work can contribute to the im.rovem.nt of nursing practice, policy, and research related to Pm.CT of HIV. A com.rehensive literature review was conducted to be able to discuss the contribution of intersectionality fram.work in nursing knowledge. Intersectionality is a nice perspective that gives insight into different identities that link and work together to provide inequalities. Intersectionality is a well-suited approach in a nursing profession where we strive to offer efficient and better care to our patients or clients;an excellent tool to explore m.re on the roots of inequality, oppression, and discrim.nation.
