technological advancements in phylodynamic modeling coupled with the accessibility of real-time pathogen genetic data are increasingly important for understanding the infectious disease transmission *** this study,we compare the transmission potentials of North American influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 derived from sequence data to that derived from surveillance *** impact of the choice of tree-priors,informative epidemiological priors,and evolutionary parameters on the transmission potential estimation is *** American Influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 hemagglutinin(HA)gene sequences are analyzed using the coalescent and birth-death tree prior models to estimate the basic reproduction number(R_(0)).Epidemiological priors gathered from published literature are used to simulate the birth-death skyline ***-sampling marginal likelihood estimation is conducted to assess model fit.A bibliographic search to gather surveillancebased R_(0)values were consistently lower(mean≤1.2)when estimated by coalescent models than by the birth-death models with informative priors on the duration of infectiousness(mean≥1.3 to≤2.88 days).the user-defined informative priors for use in the birth-death model shift the directionality of epidemiological and evolutionary parameters compared to non-informative *** there was no certain impact of clock rate and tree height on the R_(0)estimation,an opposite relationship was observed between coalescent and birth-death tree *** was no significant difference(p=0.46)between the birth-death model and surveillance R0 *** study concludes that treeprior methodological differences may have a substantial impact on the transmission potential estimation as well as the evolutionary *** study also reports a consensus between the sequence-based R_(0)estimation and surveillanceased R_(0)***,these outcomes shed light on the potential role of phylodynamic modeling to augment existing surveillance

Evolution and interaction of plane waves of the multidimensional zero-pressure gas dynamics system leads to the study of the corresponding one dimensional *** this paper,we study the initial value problem for one dimensional zero-pressure gas dynamics *** the first equation is the Burgers equation and the second one is the continuity *** consider the solution with initial data in the space of bounded Borel *** we prove a general existence result in the algebra of generalized functions of *** we study in detail special solutions withδ-measures as initial *** study interaction of waves originating from initial data concentrated on two point sources and interaction with classical shock/rarefaction *** gives an understanding of plane-wave interactions in the multidimensional *** use the vanishing viscosity method in our analysis as this gives the physical solution.

Does acid pickling of Mg-Ca alloy enhance biomineralization?

the mechanical and physical properties of biodegradable magnesium(Mg)alloys make them suitable for temporary orthopaedic *** success of these alloys depends on their performance in the physiological *** the present work,surface modification of Mg-Ca binary alloy by acid pickling for better biomineralization and controlled biodegradation is *** corrosion rates of nitric and phosphoric acid treated samples were analysed by conducting electrochemical corrosion *** vitro degradation behaviour was studied using immersion test in simulated body fluid(SBF).the sample surfaces were characterized using scanning electron microscope(SEM),energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FtIR)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).It is seen that acid pickling leads to significant improvement in biomineralization and develop in situ calcium phosphate(Ca P)coating on the sample *** addition,the treated samples recorded a reduced degradation rate in the SBF compared to untreated ***,acid pickling is suggested as an effective surface treatment method to tailor the biomineralization and degradation behaviour of the Mg-Ca alloy in the physiological environment.

the 3-dimensional zero-pressure gas dynamics system appears in the modeling for the large scale structure formation in the universe. the aim of this paper is to construct spherically symmetric solutions to the system. the radial component of the velocity and density satisfy a simpler one dimensional problem. First we construct explicit solutions of this one dimensional case with initial and boundary conditions. then we get special radial solutions with different behaviours at the origin.
