Comparative phylogeography and niche modeling for three species complexes of SE China （Paradoxornis spp., Pycnonotus spp., Spizixos spp.）

Contrasting multiple organisms with similar contemporary distributions, researchers can identify shared evolutionary patterns and provide historical context for community composition. We used three species complexes with overlapping distributions in Southeastern China and surrounding islands to explore the phylogeographic history of the region. Despite similar geographic distributions, genetic data revealed few congruent patterns, but all complexes displayed genetic divergence for Taiwan Residents populations. Additionally, niche modeling and divergence dating did not find support for diversification associated with the Last Glacial Maximum [Current Zoology 61 （5）： 943-950,2015].

Extracellular vesicles(EVs)have been identified as promising biomarkers for the noninvasive diagnosis of various ***,challenges in separating EVs from soluble proteins have resulted in variable EV recovery rates and low ***,we report a high-yield(>90%)and rapid(<10 min)EV isolation method called FLocculation via Orbital Acoustic Trapping(FLOAT).The FLOAT approach utilizes an acoustofluidic droplet centrifuge to rotate and controllably heat liquid *** adding a thermoresponsive polymer flocculant,nanoparticles as small as 20 nm can be rapidly and selectively concentrated at the center of the *** demonstrate the ability of FLOAT to separate urinary EVs from the highly abundant Tamm-Horsfall protein,addressing a significant obstacle in the development of EV-based liquid *** to its high-yield nature,FLOAT reduces biofluid starting volume requirements by a factor of 100(from 20 mL to 200µL),demonstrating its promising potential in point-of-care diagnostics.

A mechanically strong binder with polar functional groups could overcome the dilemma of the large volume change during charge/discharge processes and poor cyclability of lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs).In this work,for the first time,we report the use of poly(thiourea triethylene glycol)(PTTG)as a multifunctional binder for sulfur cathodes to enhance the performance of *** expected,the PTTG binder facilitates the high performance and stability delivered by the Sulfur-PTTG cathode,including a higher reversible capacity of 825 mAh g^(-1) at 0.2 C after 80 cycles,a lower capacity fading(0.123%per cycle)over 350 cycles at 0.5 C,a higher areal capacity of 2.5 mAh cm^(-2) at 0.25 mA cm^(-2),and better rate capability of 587 mAh g^(-1) at 2 *** superior electrochemical performances could be attributed to PTTG's strong chemical adsorption towards polysulfides which may avoid the lithium polysulfide shuttle effect and excellent mechanical characteristics which prevents electrode collapse during cycling and allows the Sulfur-PTTG electrode to maintain robust electron and ion migration pathways for accelerated redox reaction kinetics.

This paper describes the results of a project on the inspection of visually inaccessible areas of nuclear containment liners and shells via the advanced Magnetostrictive sensor (MsS) Guided Wave (GW) nondestructive inspection technique. Full scale mockups that simulated shell and liner regions of interest in the containment of both a Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) and Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) were constructed. Inspections were performed on the mock-ups in three stages to discern the signal attenuation caused by flaws and caused by concrete in the structures. The effect of concrete being in close proximity to the liner and shell was determined, and the capability to detect and size flaws via this GW technique was evaluated.

对纤维加强聚合物(FRP)材料加强钢筋混凝土梁在火灾中的防火性能进行了研究。试验结果显示,防火材料能够帮助构件达到标准防火性能,同时对不断增长的FRP应用也很重要。介绍了不同文献对FRP在高温下的性能所做的研究以及目前标准对建筑构件的耐火极限要求。对两个大型试验进行了介绍。试验材料为混凝土梁构件,外部用FRP板加强,并且三分之二用专利耐火隔热材料保护。给出了试验结果,并重点强调了曝火状态下所测得的构件温度。试验数据验证了热传导数值模型,该模型可用于预测加强并绝缘钢筋混凝土梁构件内的温度。试验结果和模型数据显示,正确设计和进行绝缘保护的FRP加强梁构件耐火极限能够达到4h或者以上。

Objective:To summarize the recent literature discussing focal therapy for localized prostate ***:A thorough literature review was performed using PubMed to identify recent studies involving focal therapy for the treatment of localized prostate ***:In an effort to decrease the morbidity associated with prostate cancer treatment,many urologists are turning to focal therapy as an alternative treatment *** this approach,the cancer bearing portion of the prostate is targeted while leaving the benign tissue *** magnetic resonance imaging remains the gold standard for visualization during focal therapy,but new imaging modalities such as prostate specific membrane antigen/positron emission tomography and contrast enhanced ultrasound are being ***,several biomarkers,such as prostate cancer antigen 3 and prostate health index,are used in conjunction with imaging to improve risk stratification prior to focal ***,there are several novel technologies such as nanoparticles and transurethral devices that are under investigation for use in focal ***:Focal therapy is proving to be a promising option for the treatment of localized prostate ***,further study is needed to determine the true efficacy of these exciting new technologies.

The daily practice of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in elderly patients has brought up the attention of outcome research and resource allocation. Determinants to predict survival have been well identified. There has been empirical evidence that CPR is of doubtful utility in the geriatric population, more studies have showed controversial data. Sometimes situations in which CPR needs to be given in the elderly, causes stress to healthcare providers, due to lack of communication of the patient’s wishes and the belief that it will not be successful. It is of importance to state that we have the duty to identify on time the patients that will most likely benefit from CPR, and find out the preferences of the same. Whenever it is possible to institute these guidelines, we will avoid patient suffering.
