Nitric oxide(NO)and hydrogen sulfide(HS)are two molecules that share signaling properties in plant and animal cells NO and H2S originate two farmilies of de rived mol ecules designated reactive nitrogen and sulfur species(RNS and RSS,respectively).These molecules are responsible for certain protein regulatory processes through posttranslational modifications(PTMs),being the most remarkable S nitrosation and persufidation,which afect the thiol group of cysteine *** and H2S can also exert regulatory functions due to their interaction through the iron present in proteins that contain heme groups or iron-sulfur dlusters,as reported mainly in animal ***,the available information in plant cells is still very limited thus *** higher plants,NO and H2S are involved in a myriad of physiological events from seed germination to fruit ripening,but also the mec hanism of response to biotic and abiotic stress *** vie wpoint manuscript highlights the functional regulatory parllelism of these two molecules which also interact with the metabolism of reactive oxygen species(ROS)in plant cells.

Qualitative Research and Narrative Sources in the Context of Critical and Renal Cares

The objective of this study is to clarify the relevance of qualitative research in the context of critical care and renal dialysis requires using narrative sources. Also specific objectives are to identify the phases or cultural moments that are distinguished in these processes. Research Question: How can the narrative materials contribute to the study of the processes of critical care and/or qualitative research in nephrology? Method and Sources: There have been studies focusing on the narrative of patients who have written their experiences building a literature experience ill (Siles et al., 1997, 1999, 2000). Sources have been used to extract testimony retrospective autobiographies written by people who have experienced the experiences of different diseases (Allué, 1996, 1997, Zorn, 1991, Gilbert, 1993;Comas, 2009;Gracia Armendáriz, 2010;Sampedro, 1996, Sacks, 2010). The analysis was developed by categorizing units of meaning, meaning families and networks. To identify the cultural moments we have followed the criteria established by Siles and Solano (2009): Multiculturalism, interculturalism and transculturalism. To identify rites of passage and liminality states have followed the principles outlined by Van Gennep (2013) and Turner (1990, 2008). Results: We identified cultural moments and characteristic states of liminality in critical care and kidney. Conclusions: narrative sources are effective for analyzing the meanings and experiences of patients in critical care and nephrology tool.

Aims We aimed to evaluate how climatic fluctuations influence the plasticity of anatomical vessel traits and the width of annual tree-rings of two relict-endemic Mexican Magnolia ***,few studies have assessed the drought effect on vessel traits in tropical montane cloud trees of eastern *** Through digital images of growth rings,we assessed the tree radial growth rate,age of the trees and plasticity in vessel traits regarding climatic fluctuations of the Mexican Magnolia species *** compared vessel density,hydraulic diameter and percentage of conductive area in drought years(DY)and non-drought years(NDY)in two Mexican Magnolia *** Findings For the first time,the plasticity that occurs in porous wood vessel traits to long-term climatic fluctuations was analysed for two endangered Magnolia species(Magnolia vovidesii and ***)from two tropical montane cloud forests in *** found that temperature and precipitation were strongly associated with differences in tree-ring width when DY and NDY were *** analyses revealed that a high plasticity in vessel anatomy of diffuse-porous wood was related to temperature and/or water availability for both Magnolia species *** concluded that anatomical adaptations to DY resulted in a substantial reduction in vessel traits when compared with NDY,and that the plastic adaptations played an essential role in water transport and safety for the survival of the studied species during stressful long periods.

About 130-170 million people, is estimated to be infected with the hepatitis C virus(HCV). Chronic HCV infection is one of the leading causes of liverrelated death and in many countries it is the primaryreason for having a liver transplant. The main aim of antiviral treatment is to eradicate the virus. Until a few years ago the only treatment strategy was based on the combination of pegylated interferon and ribavirin(PEG/RBV). However, in genotypes 1 and 4 the rates of viral response did not surpass 50%, reaching up to 80% in the rest. In 2011 approval was given for the first direct acting antiviral agents(DAA), boceprevir and telaprevir, for treatment of genotype 1, in combination with traditional dual therapy. This strategy managed to increase the rates of sustained viral response(SVR) in both naive patients and in retreated patients, but with greater toxicity, interactions and cost, as well as being less safe in patients with advanced disease, in whom this treatment can trigger decompensation or even death. The recent, accelerated incorporation since 2013 of new more effective DAA, with pan-genomic properties and excellent tolerance, besides increasing the rates of SVR(even up to 100%), has also created a new scenario: shorter therapies, less toxicity and regimens free of PEG/RBV. This has enabled their almost generalised applicability in all patients. However, it should be noted that most of the scientific evidence available is based on expert opinion, case-control series, cohort studies and phase 2 and 3 trials, some with a reduced number of patients and select groups. Few data are currently available about the use of these drugs in daily clinical practice, particularly in relation to the appearance of side effects and interactions with other drugs, or their use in special populations or persons with the less common genotypes. Forest restorations conducted in semiarid, seasonally dry climates must deal with the intense drought stress that affects tree seedlings during the dry season. Although this water deficit is the most commonly invoked source of mortality for seedlings, several other environmental factors may also preclude survival of transplants. For instance, it has been widely reported that excessive light reduces the efficiency of the photosynthetic apparatus, hence decreasing plant survival, but most seedling transplants in deforested areas are conducted under these light conditions. This study is focused in determining whether excessive light affects the photosynthetic performance and survival of Quercus coccolobifolia, a Mexican oak species, when their seedlings are transplanted in semiarid deforested areas. Further, this study tests the possibility of using artificial shade shelters to improve the ecophysiological performance and survival of seedlings. Oak seedlings were transplanted under full sunlight conditions and beneath artificial shade shelters of two different colors： white and black. To reduce water stress, and hence isolate the effects of light treatments, a drip irrigation system was implemented at each experimental plot. Seedling survival was monitored weekly for 128 days and photosynthetic performance was assessed by measuring chlorophyll fluorescence at three opportunities during the experiment. Sun-exposed seedlings showed lower photosynthetic performance and survival rates than those beneath shelters of both colors. These results suggest that sunlight damage can reduce seedling survival when they are transplanted in exposed sites, and that shade shelters can improve the success of forest restoration programs in semiarid climates.

Studies on litterfall and decomposition provide estimations of decomposition rates of different *** is key information to understanding ecosystem dynamics and changes in a scenario of global *** objective of this research was to assess litterfall production,the potential deposition of macro and micronutrients through leaf and twig fall as well as macronutrient—use efficiency in three forest ecosystems at different altitudes： a pine forest mixed with deciduous species（S1）; a Quercus ***（S2）; and,a Tamaulipan thornscrub forest（S3）.Total annual litterfall deposition was 594,742 and 533 g m^（-2） for S1,S2 and *** litter was higher （68%） than twigs（18%）,reproductive structures（8%） or miscellaneous material（6%）.Micronutrient leaf deposition was higher for Fe followed by Mn,Zn and *** leaf deposition was higher for Ca followed by K,Mg and *** though P deposition in leaves and twigs was lower than other macronutrients,its nutrient use efficiency was higher than Ca,Mg or *** and species composition determine litter and nutrient deposition,with higher values at mid-altitudes（550 m）.Altitude is an important factor to consider when analyzing litter production as well as nutrient deposition as shown in this *** production and nutrient deposition are expected to change in a scenario of global warming.

Aerogel scaffolds are nanostructured materials with beneficial properties for tissue engineering *** tracing of the state of the aerogels after their implantation is challenging due to their variable biodegradation rate and the lack of suitable strategies capable of in vivo monitoring the *** nanoparticles(UCNPs)have emerged as advanced tools for in vitro bioimaging because of their fluorescence *** this work,highly fluorescent UCNPs were loaded into aerogels to obtain theranostic implants for tissue engineering and bioimaging applications.3D-printed alginate-hydroxyapatite aerogels labeled with UCNPs were manufactured by 3D-printing and supercritical CO2 drying to generate personalize-to-patient *** physicochemical performance of the resulting structures was evaluated by printing fidelity measurements,nitrogen adsorption-desorption analysis,and different microscopies(confocal,transmission and scanning electron microscopies).Stability of the aerogels in terms of physicochemical properties was also tested after 3 years of *** was evaluated in vitro by different cell and hemocompatibility assays,in ovo and in vivo by safety and bioimaging studies using different murine *** profile,tissue index and histological evaluations of the main organs unveiled an in vivo downregulation of the inflammation after implantation of the ***-decorated aerogels were first-time manufactured and long-term traceable by fluorescence-based bioimaging until 3 weeks post-implantation,thereby endorsing their suitability as tissue engineering and theranostic nanodevices(*** implants).
