Chimaeras, fish in the order Chimaeriformes, are among the rarest and least studied fish in the class Chondrichthyes (cartilaginous fish). Previous records have indicated that a species of chimaera known as the elephantfish, or cockfish, Callorhinchus callorynchus, may be found in marine waters off southeastern Brazil, as far north as the state of São Paulo. Here we report that C. callorynchus, caught with bottom gillnet, was found in an urban fish market in the city of Rio de Janeiro (~23˚S). This and other records from a variety of places call into question the distribution limits of the American elephantfish in the southwestern Atlantic Ocean and whether, at least seasonally, this species may often be found as far north as the state of Rio de Janeiro. Because of scientific and conservation interests in the poorly known Chimaeriformes, we recommend long-term monitoring of the fish catch in ports along the southern Brazilian coast, to better understand the natural history of the intriguing chimeras.

The Cartography and the Spatial Representations:Search by Perfect Map

The activities of the professionals working on cartographic products have been highlighted especially in recent years. The history, the concepts and categories of cartography cannot be neglected in using this type of tool since the use of elements that make a cartographic product, as an example: map, chart, plan, globe, and a scale model should be used since the unawareness of techniques of cartography and the absence of the components of a map may hinder the understanding of what is intended to represent cartographically. This text is a contribution to the discussion of advances in cartography including errors and absence of maps, including a brief discussion of the characteristics of cartographic language nowadays and the search for perfection in cartography.

The so-called geotechnology has been used in recent years in the planning, supervision and monitoring of various human activities, both locally and regionally, nationally and internationally, either it in the rural environment, as in urban áreas. This study, based on references and activities in the Geographic Information Analysis Laboratory of the Federal University of Pará (LAIG/UFPA), selects and presents the application of three tools for spatial analysis available in the Terraview [1] and Arcgis softwares, with the main objective being to demonstrate how they can be applied in geographical studies, starting with the spatial information gathered by remote or Field sensors, assisting the activities of researchers who stick to working with the planning and management of natural and human resources. Geotechnologies are important tools in the analysis of geographic space and its use tends to be increased with the advancement of new software and hardware collection, manipulation and generation of new specialized information. So we will do in this manuscript a brief discussion of three spatial analysis tools that can be used in rural areas with agricultural potential.

Design, Development and Geometric Error Analysis of an Aerostatic Rotary Table

Rotary tables are equipments in precision machinery applied in five-axis Machine Tools and CMM （Coordinate Measuring Machines）, offering rotational （C-axis） and tilting motion （A-axis）, allowing the obtaining of several configurations for manufacturing or inspection of parts with complex geometries. The demand for high accuracy, high efficiency and fewer errors in the positioning of the part in precision machines increases every day, thus ensuring their high confidence and the use of aerostatic bearings enable constructive innovations to the equipment. In this context, this work presents the mechanical design, the development and error analysis of a prototype of an aerostatic rotary table. This study emphasizes the analysis of a prototype that uses the air as a working principle for reducing friction between moving parts, increasing the mechanical efficiency, and its influence of motion error is also discussed based on the experimental results. For the geometrical errors analysis, experimental tests were realized in laboratory using a DBB （Double Ballbar）. The tests are performed with only one axis moving, observing the behavior of the system for different feedrate at the C-axis.

Objective:To describe the prognostic and clinical profile of hospitalized patients with chikungunya virus(CHIKV)infection focusing on renal ***:This is a cross-sectional study including all patients with confirmed chikungunya fever(CHIKF)admitted to 3 different highcomplexity hospitals in Fortaleza,Brazil between January 2016 and June *** analysis was carried out to evaluate correlation between clinical profile and ***:Fifty-five patients were included,with a median age of 77(IQR=21)years,and 23(41.82%)were ***-five patients(45.45%,25/55)developed acute kidney injury(AKI),and 15(60.00%,15/25)were classified as KDIGO 1,1(4.00%)as KDIGO 2,and 9(36.00%)as KDIGO *** overall mortality was 34.54%whilst AKI-related mortality was 64.00%(16/25).Both AKI and encephalitis were associated with higher *** who died were significantly older[82(IQR=12)years vs.70(IQR=28.75)years,P<0.001].In the multivariate analysis,abdominal pain was associated with an increased risk of severe AKI(OR=5.33,95%CI=1.11–25.64,P=0.037)and AKI was an independent risk factor of death(OR=12.06,95%CI=2.55–57.15,P=0.002).Recovery of renal function was similar among the different age ***:AKI is present in half of the study population and is an independent risk factor of ***,renal function should be carefully monitored in hospitalized patients with CHIKV infection.

Analysis of the Bovespa Futures and Spot Indexes With High Frequency Data

Data from the World Federation of Exchanges show that Brazil＇s Sao Paulo stock exchange is one of the largest worldwide in terms of market value. Thus, the objective of this study is to obtain univariate and bivariate forecasting models based on intraday data from the futures and spot markets of the BOVESPA index. The interest is to verify if there exist arbitrage opportunities in Brazilian financial market. To this end, three econometric forecasting models were built： ARFIMA, vector autoregressive （VAR）, and vector error correction （VEC）. Furthermore, it presents the results of a Granger causality test for the aforementioned series. This type of study shows that it is important to identify arbitrage opportunities in financial markets and, in particular, in the application of these models on data of this nature. In terms of the forecasts made with these models, VEC showed better results. The causality test shows that futures BOVESPA index Granger causes spot BOVESPA index. This result may indicate arbitrage opportunities in Brazil.

Recent data indicate that IGF1R/IRS signaling is a potential therapeutic target in BCR-ABL1-negative myeloproliferative neoplasms(MPN);in this pathway,IRS2 is involved in the malignant transformation induced by JAK2^(V617F),and upregulation of IGF1R signaling induces the MPN ***157,a synthetic compound designed as an IGF1R-IRS1/2 inhibitor,has been shown to induce antineoplastic effects in solid ***,we aimed to characterize the molecular and cellular effects of NT157 in JAK2^(V617F)positive MPN cell lines(HEL and SET2)and primary patient hematopoietic *** JAK2^(V617F)cell lines,NT157 decreased cell viability,clonogenicity,and cell proliferation,resulting in increases in apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in the G2/M phase(p<0.05).NT157 treatment inhibited IRS1/2,JAK2/STAT,and NFκB signaling,and it activated the AP-1 complex,downregulated four oncogenes(CCND1,MYB,WT1,and NFKB1),and upregulated three apoptotic-related genes(CDKN1A,FOS,and JUN)(p<0.05).NT157 induced genotoxic stress in a JAK2/STAT-independent ***157 inhibited erythropoietin-independent colony formation in cells from polycythemia vera patients(p<0.05).These findings further elucidate the mechanism of NT157 action in a MPN context and suggest that targeting IRS1/2 proteins may represent a promising therapeutic strategy for MPN.

This paper is based on a specific individual study and on empirical evidence collected using various techniques. It demonstrates how the management of the technological learning process and the innovation system boost the growth trajectory in a small company, by the fact that they contribute to the effective development of technological competencies considered fundamental to perfect the level of competitiveness of the company.

Application of NURBS for Obtaining Free Form Curves and Surfaces in Spur and Helical Gears by Using CMM （Coordinate Measurement Machine）

Currently, engineering processes require reduced manufacturing time and low cost, in addition to the growing demand for workpieces with high accuracy. Workpieces with complex geometries and free forms has been a common practice in industries from different sectors such as： automotive, aeronautics, bioengineering among others. One way to satisfy the market requirements satisfactorily is making measurements more efficient to make the production process faster, in other words, it is necessary to make the inspection system more accurate and flexible. The coordinate measuring evolved over the past three decades and today it is the technology that best meets the requirements of modem manufacturing through CMMs （coordinate measurement machines）. The CMMs are important tool for design, fabrication and inspection of manufactured products, also used in the application of reverse engineering. These machines are also used by engineers in order to produce an accurate digital model in a virtual space for later use in CAD （computer-aided design）/CAM （computer-aided manufacturing）. It is worth mentioning that the accuracy of the modeling process of given piece depends on the number of control points that are captured on the workpiece surface. Consequently, the laser inspection systems are the best tools for use in reverse engineering, but more expensive when compared to contact measurement systems that use the TTP （touch trigger probe）, also used by CMMs. In this case, this paper aims to present an approach based on NURBS （non-uniform rational B-splines） to obtain free form curves and surfaces from a group of points obtained by using a contact sensor, the touch trigger probe. NURBS is an important mathematical tool and consists of generalizations of Bezier curves and surfaces and B-splines. Formation of TiO_(2) Nanotube Layer by Anodization of Titanium in Ethylene Glycol-H_(2)O Electrolyte

In orthopaedics and orthodontics, the growth of nanotubes of titanium oxide on titanium implants is a promising route for improving the osseointegration. Among the fabrication routes to produce nanotubes, anodization was generally preferred due to its simplicity and low cost. TiO2 nanotubes are formed by the simultaneous anodic reaction and chemical dissolution due to the fluoride species present in the anodization bath. In this work, the formation of TiO2 nanotubes was studied in stirred ethylene glycol-H2O electrolyte (90 - 10 v/v) containing NH4F at room temperature. In order to study the effect of NH4F concentration, voltage and anodization time, and to reduce the number of experiments, a design of experiments (DOE) based on a 2k factorial design with four replicates at the center point was used. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to evaluate the effects of the factors of control and their interactions on the percentage of the titanium surface coated by nanotubes. The dimensions of nanotubes (length and diameter) were also evaluated using field emission gun scanning electron microscopy. The cristallinity and phase composition of the oxide layers was investigated by X-ray diffractometry. The electrochemical behavior of as-received and anodized titanium specimens was studied in Ringer’s solution. The statistical analysis showed that fluoride concentration is the most significant factor. The best condition according to the response surface analysis is the center point (1% NH4F, 20 V, 2 h). The nanotubular oxide layers presented an amorphous structure. Electrochemical tests showed that TiO2 nanotubes coated titanium is less corrosion resistant than as-received titanium.
