Porcelain enamel coatings were widely applied for the protection of steel products because they offered high corrosion protection,resistance to heat and abrasion,high hardness,hygiene and ease of *** typical process to produce enameled steels is roughly divided into two stages:the first stage consists of a forming process to give the desired shape to a steel substrate,and the second stage consists of a firing process to bond enamel frits on the *** firing process requires a high temperature above 800 °C,which may lead to austenitic transformation and severe thermal deformation of the steel *** aim of this study is to develop a finite element analysis (FE analysis) technique to predict the mechanical and thermal deformations of the enameled steels during forming and any further enameling process,including *** FE analysis involves analyzing the strain history of the steel substrate,which comprises the stress and thickness distributions of the substrate and its deformed shape,and the high-temperature behavior of the enamel coating *** validity of the FE analysis is verified through the U-bending test and firing test with various numbers and positions of enamel coating layers on the *** results reveal that the FE analysis results agree well with the experimental results with 8% error.

The ,Aspoe Pillar Stability Experiment （APSE） is an in situ experiment for investigating the spalling mechanism under mechanical and thermal loading conditions in a crystalline rock. In this study, the thermo-mechanical behaviors in the APSE were investigated with three models：（1） a Full model with rough meshes for calculating the influence of tunnel excavation; （2） a Submodel with fine meshes for predicting the thermo-mechanical behavior in the pillar during the borehole drilling, heating, and cool- ing phases; and （3） a Thin model for modeling the effect of slot cutting for de-stressing around the pillar. In order to import the stresses calculated from the Full model to the Submodel and to define the complex thermal boundary conditions, artificial neural networks （NNs） were utilized. From this study, it was pos- sible to conclude that the stepwise approach with the application of NNs was useful for predicting the complex response of the pillar under severe thermo-mechanical loading conditions.

Ni nanocatalysts produced through exsolution have shown strong resistance to particle sintering and carbon coking in a beneficial dry reforming of methane(DRM)reaction utilizing greenhouse gases such as CH_(4)and CO_(2).However,most of the existing oxide supports for exsolution have been limited to perovskite oxide,while studies on fluorite support have been rarely conducted due to the limited solubility despite its excellent redox *** we demonstrate that 3 mol%Ni can be successfully dissolved into the yttria-stabilized zirconia(YSZ)lattice and be further exsolved to the surface in a reducing *** YSZ decorated with exsolved Ni nanoparticles shows enhanced catalytic activity for DRM reaction compared to the conventional cermet type of bulk ***,the catalytic activity is extremely stable for about 300 h without significant *** results suggest that the YSZ-based fluorite structure can be utilized as one of the support oxides for exsolution.

The oxidation characteristics for Zircaloy-4 and Zirlo in the temperature range of 700-1200°C under steam supply condition were investigated by using a modified thermo-gravimetric *** specimens were oxidized for 3600 s at each temperature and then quenched in a *** oxidation rate constants were measured from the weight gains to evaluate the oxidation behavior in Zircaloy-4 and *** weight gain rates of Zirlo were lower than those of Zircaloy-4,leading to the low rate *** different oxidation behaviors between both cladding materials were considered to be due to the difference in their chemical compositions.

Many studies have investigated the evidence for tactile and visual interactive responses to activation of various brain ***,few studies have reported on the effects of visuo-tactile multisensory integration on the amount of brain activation on the somatosensory cortical *** aim of this study was to examine whether coincidental information obtained by tactile stimulation can affect the somatosensory cortical activation using functional *** right-handed healthy subjects were recruited for this *** tasks（tactile stimulation and visuotactile stimulation）were performed using a block paradigm during f MRI *** the tactile stimulation task,in subjects with eyes closed,tactile stimulation was applied on the dorsum of the right hand,corresponding to the proximal to distal directions,using a rubber *** the visuotactile stimulation task,tactile stimulation was applied to observe the attached mirror in the MRI chamber reflecting their hands being touched with the *** the result of SPM group analysis,we found brain activation on the somatosensory cortical *** stimulation task induced brain activations in the left primary sensory-motor cortex（SM1）and secondary somatosensory cortex（S2）.In the visuo-tactile stimulation task,brain activations were observed in the both SM1,both S2,and right posterior parietal *** all tasks,the peak activation was detected in the contralateral *** examined the effects of visuo-tactile multisensory integration on the SM1 and found that visual information during tactile stimulation could enhance activations on SM1 compared to the tactile unisensory stimulation.

Adaptive Model Predictive Control for Yaw System of Variable-speed Wind Turbines

Due to varying characteristics of the wind condition, the performance of the wind turbines can be optimized by adapting the parameters of the control system. In this letter, an adaptive technique is proposed for the novel model predictive control(MPC) for the yaw system of the wind turbines. The control horizon is adapted to the one with the best predictive performance among multiple control horizons. The adaptive MPC is demonstrated by simulations using real wind data, and its performance is compared with the baseline MPC at fixed control horizon. Results show that the adaptive MPC provides better comprehensive performance than the baseline ones at different preview time of wind directions. Therefore, the proposed adaptive technique is potentially useful for the wind turbines in the future.

Liver biopsy is the gold standard for evaluating the degree of liver fibrosis in patients with chronic liver disease. However, due to the many limitations of liver biopsy, there has been much interest in the use of noninvasive techniques for this purpose. Among these techniques real-time two-dimensional shear wave elastography(2D-SWE) has the advantage of measuring tissue elasticity with the guidance of B-mode images. Recently, many studies have been conducted on the application of 2D-SWE in patients with various liver diseases, and their validity has been confirmed. Here, we briefly discuss the role of 2D-SWE in patients with chronic liver diseases, particularly aspects of the examination techniques and clinical applications.
