The applicability of ultraviolet-light emitting diodes(LEDs)as a light source for photocatalysis using granular activated charcoal (GAC)impregnated with transition metal-enhanced photocatalysts for the control of volatile organic compounds(VOCs)was investigated. Two target compounds(toluene and methyl mercaptan)were selected to evaluate the removal activities of the TiO2/GAC *** photocatalysts were prepared by a sol-gel *** trimethoxy silane was added as a precursor sol solution to bind the photocatalyst with the ***(Zn 2+ ,Fe 3+ ,Ag + ,and Cu 2+ )enhanced TiO2/GAC composites were prepared and tested for their photocatalytic activities under 400 nm LED *** specific surface area(SSA)and the surface chemical composition of the prepared composites were *** SSAs of all the impregnated composites were similar to those of pure *** field emission-scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopic analysis confirmed that titanium and the impregnated metals were deposited on the surface of the *** breakthrough time for GAC toward toluene or methyl mercaptan gas increased upon photocatalytic impregnation and LED *** different binders affected the breakthrough time of the TiO2/GAC composite and the addition of zinc oxide to TiO2 increased the VOC removal capacity of the GAC composite.

本文回顾了 1 997年经济危机后韩国政府采取的改革方案 ,并做出结论 :与普遍的看法相反 ,韩国政府的大部分改革方案并不是基于新公共管理系统 (NPM)的。NPM倡导的打破常规的概念是要把官僚主义者从政府内部的束缚中解放出来 ,然而韩国政府的改革目标却指向加强官僚政治的内部控制。另一个结论是 :以NPM为导向的改革方案不适合韩国政府 ,因为韩国缺少成功实施NPM方案所应具备的先决条件 ,如基于规则的政府和充满活力的市场。本文强调了加强官僚政治外部控制机制的重要性。体制僵化、腐败、生产力低下这样的问题长期困扰韩国政府 ,这些问题不能通过采用NPM所建议的市场原则来解决。因此 ,本文的结论是 :新统治理论是根除这些问题的更为行之有效的方法。

A System for Improving the Management of the Lesion and Test Images of Patients

Nowadays, almost every hospital utilizes picture archiving and communications system (PACS) and electronic medical record (EMR) system to manage patient’s data digitally. However, patient’s pictures taken by nurses or physicians to monitor lesions or various test results are not managed well in general. Although for some disease, these pictures provide meaningful information in diagnosis and treatment. In this paper, we propose a management system for these images to improve the accessibility and storability. To manage the images efficiently, the proposed methods utilized the PACS system in the hospital. After sending the image data of each patient to a local monitoring computer, the patient’s information, such as, name, age, male, and registration number were attached on the image. This file was then converted to a DICOM (digital imaging and communications in medicine) files and transferred to the PACS Server. The proposed system promises easy and convenient access on the images of lesions and various test results of patients to support fast and appropriate treatment.

A reliability of flip-chip bonded die as a function of anisotropic conductive paste (ACP) hybrid materials, bonding conditions, and antenna pattern materials was investigated during the assembly of radio frequency identification(RFID) inlay. The optimization condition for flip-chip bonding was determined from the behavior of bonding strength. Under the optimized condition, the shear strength for the antenna printed with paste-type Ag ink was larger than that for Cu antenna. Furthermore, an identification distance was varied from the antenna materials. Comparing with the Ag antenna pattern, the as-bonded die on Cu antenna showed a larger distance of identification. However, the long-term reliability of inlay using the Cu antenna was decreased significantly as a function of aging time at room temperature because of the bended shape of Cu antenna formed during the flip-chip bonding process.

The purpose of this study was to develop the immediate release stomach-specific spraydried formulation of valsartan(VAL) using Eudragit?E PO(EPO) as the carrier for enhancing dissolution rate in a gastric environment. Enhanced solubility and dissolution in gastric pH was achieved by formulating the solid dispersion using a spray drying technique. Different combinations of drug–polymer–surfactant were dissolved in 10% ethanol solution and spraydried in order to obtain solid dispersion microparticles. Use of the VAL–EPO solid dispersion microparticles resulted in significant improvement of the dissolution rate of the drug at pH 1.2 and pH 4.0, compared to the free drug powder and the commercial product. A hard gelatin capsule was filled with the VAL–EPO solid dispersion powder prior to the dissolution *** increased dissolution of VAL from solid dispersion microparticles in gastric pH was attributed to the effect of EPO and most importantly the transformation of crystalline drugs to amorphous solid dispersion powder, which was clearly shown by scanning electron microscopy(SEM), differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), and powder X-ray diffraction(PXRD) studies. Thus, VAL, a potential antihypertensive drug in the form of a solid dispersion microparticulate powder, can be effectively delivered in the immediate release dosage form for stomach-specific drug delivery.

The high-entropy alloy(HEA)superconductor,Ta1/6Nb2/6Hf1/6Zr1/6Ti1/6(Ta-Nb-Hf-Zr-Ti),is systematically studied to examine changes in superconducting critical properties,critical temperature(Tc),critical cur-rent density(Jc),and upper critical field(Hc2),concerning thermal treatment *** condi-tion affects Jc more significantly than Tc and Hc2,with a large improvement of flux pinning force density(Fp).The Jc of bare sample is reduced to 10 A cm-2 at an applied magnetic field of approximately 1.5 T,whereas the sample annealed at 550 ℃ for 12 h exhibits Jc＞100 kA cm-2 up to around 4 ***,the Vickers hardness(HVIT)of the Ta-Nb-Hf-Zr-Ti HEA superconductor notably increases from～384 to 528 HVIT following a 24-h annealing at 500 ℃.These results demonstrate that thermal annealing is a powerful process to optimize both the superconducting and mechanical properties of high-entropy alloy superconductors.

Recent advances in 360 video streaming technologies have enhanced the immersive experience of video streaming ***,there is immense potential for the application of 360 video encoding formats to achieve highly immersive virtual reality(VR)***,360 video streaming requires considerable bandwidth,and its performance depends on several ***,the optimization of 360 video bitstreams according to viewport texture is ***,we propose an adaptive solution for VR systems using viewport-dependent tiled 360 video *** increase the degrees of freedom of users,the moving picture experts group(MPEG)recently defined three degrees plus of freedom(3DoF+)and six degrees of freedom(6DoF)to support free user movement within camera-captured *** proposed method supports 6DoF to allow users to move their heads ***,we propose viewport-dependent tiled 360 video streaming based on users’head *** proposed system generates an adaptive bitstream using tile sets that are selected according to a parameter set of user’s viewport *** extracted bitstream is then transmitted to the user’s *** decoding,the user’s viewport is generated and rendered on VR head-mounted display(HMD).Furthermore,we introduce certain approaches to reduce the motion-to-photon *** experimental results demonstrated that,in contrast with non-tiled streaming,the proposed method achieved high-performance 360 video streaming for VR systems,with a 25.89%BD-rate saving for Y-PSNR and 61.16%for decoding time.

Long-term performance of fiber-grid-reinforced asphalt overlay pavements: A case study of Korean national highways

The objective of this study was to verify the effect of fiber grid reinforcement on the longterm performance of asphalt overlay pavements by performing field investigation, laboratory test, and finite element analysis. Crack, rutting, roughness, and other miscellaneous distresses of fiber-grid-reinforced overlay sections and ordinary overlay sections were compared. Pavement conditions of fiber grid overlay sections before and after the overlay were also compared. Cores were obtained from the fiber-grid-reinforced and ordinary sections to measure bonding shear strength between the intermediate and overlay *** energy, displacement after yield, and shear stiffness of the cores were also obtained by analyzing the test results. Finite element analysis was performed by using the test results to validate the effect of the fiber grid reinforcement on the long-term performance of asphalt overlay pavements. Rutting and fatigue cracking were predicted for three cases: 1) fiber grid was not used;2) glass fiber grid was used;and 3) carbon fiber grid was used. The cracking ratio of fiber-grid-reinforced sections was much smaller than that of ordinary sections. The results of field investigation, laboratory test, and finite element analysis showed that the fiber grid reinforcement improved the long-term performance of asphalt overlay pavements.
