The incorporation of interface passivation structures in ultrathin Cu(In,Ga)Se_(2)based solar cells is *** fabrication used an industry scalable lithography technique—nanoimprint lithography(NIL)—for a 15×15 cm^(2)dielectric layer *** with a NIL nanopatterned dielectric layer are benchmarked against electron-beam lithography(EBL)patterning,using rigid *** NIL patterned device shows similar performance to the EBL patterned *** impact of the lithographic processes in the rigid solar cells’performance were evaluated via X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy and through a Solar Cell Capacitance *** device on stainless-steel showed a slightly lower performance than the rigid approach,due to additional challenges of processing steel substrates,even though scanning transmission electron microscopy did not show clear evidence of impurity ***,time-resolved photoluminescence results strongly suggested elemental diffusion from the flexible ***,bending tests on the stainless-steel device demonstrated the mechanical stability of the CIGS-based device.

Nineteen fungal strains were isolated from a chicken slaughterhouse effluent and within those, only one showed high values of lipolytic activity in submerged cultures. This fungus was identified as Trametes hirsuta. The crude extract was immobilized in chitosan/clay beads, with an immobilization yield of 80.9%. The analyses of the crude extract and the immobilized derivative at different temperatures, pH (s), solvents, metallic ions and storage showed that the immobilization process increased the enzyme life span. Ethyl esters were obtained in solvent free systems using chicken viscera oil and the enzyme crude extract. For effective comparison, a reaction using viscera oil and commercial lipase Novozym 435 was carried out. The result revealed 35% and 28% esters conversion in the reactions containing chicken viscera oil, using Novozym 435 and the crude extract respectively. The extract was also used in a reaction with soybean oil, traditionally used as starting substrate for biodiesel production.

This experiment aimed to evaluate the ruminal degradability in situ of the dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and acid detergent fiber (ADF) of Guinea grass silages. The experimental design was completely randomized with six treatments and six repetitions: Guinea grass silage, Guinea grass silage inoculated with 10% wheat bran, Guinea grass silage inoculated with 106 cfu/g of strains of Streptococcus bovis jB1;Guinea grass silage inoculated with 106 cfu/g of strains of Streptococcus bovis jB1 plus 10% of wheat bran;Guinea grass silage inoculated with 106 cfu/g of strains of Streptococcus bovis HC5;Guinea grass silage inoculated with 106 cfu/g of strains of Streptococcus bovis HC5 plus 10% of wheat bran. The silages inoculated with Streptococcus bovis and with added wheat bran resulted in higher values of ruminal degradability of DM, 32.76% and 32.17%, and of crude protein 38.28% and 37.89%. For the effective and potential degradability of DM, CP, NDF and ADF the highest values occurred for silages in these silages as well, in all passage rates. There is a similarity between the responses of Streptococcus bovis jB1 and the HC5, and the wheat bran enhanced the effectiveness of the microbial additive.

The SONE oil/water was prepared using the pseudo-ternary phase diagram, using a low energy method with phase inversion by changing the composition. In order to optimize the preparation of SONE, three speeds were used in the agitator arm and two different rods. The particle size and polydispersity index were determined by Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) and the stability test by the freeze-thaw cycle. Angiogenesis in chicken embryo egg chorioallantoic membrane and zebrafish (Danio rerio) embryotoxicity was performed. The lower stirring speed and propeller shaft induced smaller particle size (550.2 nm). Regarding angiogenesis, there was a statistically significant difference for all the evaluated parameters (length, caliber, junctions, and number of blood vessel complexes) and the result was higher in SONE when compared to the inhibition control (Dexamethasone), but lower than the induction control (Regederm®) and there was no statistically significant difference between SONE and distilled water. It was observed that the exposure of the zebrafish embryos to SONE caused an increase in the mortality rate dependent on time and concentration. The LC50 for SONE decreased statistically with increasing exposure (p-value = 0.046). Heart rate decreased significantly with increasing concentration at all exposure times (p-value < 0.05), as a result of progressive embryo mortality. The hatching rate was late until the concentration of 0.0193 mg/mL and no hatching rate was verified from that concentration. Exposure of zebrafish embryos to different concentrations of SONE induced malformations such as spinal changes, pericardial edema and yolk sac edema, but there was no significant difference in the malformation rate of embryos exposed to SONE when compared to the control group. Dermatomycoses are a group of diseases worldwide distributed and affect skin, hair and nails. Several fungal species can be envolved and keratinophilic fungi belonging to the genera Trichophyton, Microsporum and Epidermophyton are very common. These infections are globally distributed and their incidence has progressively increased. Despite their high incidence, few studies have been carried out in HIV-infected patients, regarding frequency, clinical presentations, and species identification. This study aimed to evaluate some epidemiological and clinical aspects of dermatophytosis in HIV-infected patients and to attempt phenotypical and molecular characteristics of their agents. Of 398 patients included, 306 were HIV-infected. Clinical data and samples of skin, hair and nail lesions were simultaneously obtained. The dermatophytes yielded in culture were phenotypically identified and evaluated by ITS-RFLP and ITS (Internal Transcribed Space) sequencing. Dermatophytes frequency in HIV-infected patients with cutaneous lesions was 11.76% similar to the 15.22% observed in non-HIV individuals. Trichophyton rubrum was the most common isolated species in both groups. Throught ITS-RFLP, 29/32 (90.63%) of dermatophytes isolates were identified at the species level. From the 10 isolates randomly selected for ITS sequencing, seven confirmed the ITS-RFLP results while three Trichophyton sp. were not identified as dermatophytes. The identification of these species in HIV-infected patients is highly desirable in order to improve the knowledge of their frequency, geographical distribution and relation to clinical presentation.

Dermatomyositis is a rare idiopathic inflammatory myopathy characterized by proximal muscle weakness associated with typical skin abnormalities and compatible electromyographic finds. Tuberculosis could determine several clinical manifestations but the classic one is the lung presentation. Among the extra pulmonary manifestations of tuberculosis, the musculoskeletal form is rare and it is usually a direct extension of the bone involvement nearby. In the present study, the authors described two dermatomyositis patients and musculoskeletal tuberculosis. In both cases, there was presence of bilateral tenosynovitis, which is considered atypical for further infectious.
