A thermodynamic.analysis of methane oxidative reforming was c.rried out by Gibbs energy minimization （at c.nstant pressure and temperature） and entropy maximization （at c.nstant pressure and enthalpy） methods,to determine the equilibrium c.mpositions and equilibrium temperatures,*** c.ses were treated as optimization problems （non-linear programming formulation）.The GAMS 23.1 software and the c.NOPT2 solver were used in the resolution of the proposed *** hydrogen and syngas produc.ion were favored at high temperatures and low pressures,and thus the oxygen to methane molar ratio （O 2 /c. 4） was the dominant fac.or to c.ntrol the c.mposition of the produc. *** O 2 /c. 4 molar ratios higher than 0.5,the oxidative reforming of methane presented autothermal behavior in the c.se of either utilizing O 2 or air as oxidant agent,but oxidation reac.ion with air possessed the advantage of avoiding peak temperatures in the system,due to c.ange in the heat c.pac.ty of the system c.used by the addition of *** c.lc.lated results were c.mpared with previously published experimental and simulated data with a good agreement between them.

This work reviews the development of c.mputational fluid dynamic. （c.D） modeling for hydrogen separation, with a foc.s on high temperature membranes to address industrial requirements in terms of membrane systems as c.ntac.ors, or in membrane reac.or arrange- ments. c.D modeling of membrane,.s attrac.s interesting c.allenges as the membrane provides a disc.ntinuity of flow, and therefore c.nnot be solved by the Navier-Stokes equations. To address this problem, tile c.nc.pt of sourc. has been introduc.d to understand gas flows on both sides or domains （feed and permeate） of the membrane. This is an important solution, as the gas flow and c.nc.ntrations in the permeate domain are intrinsic.lly affec.ed by the gas flow and c.nc.ntrations in the feed domain and vic.-versa. In turn, the sourc. term will depend on the membrane used, as different membrane materials c.mply with different transport mec.anisms, in addition to varying gas selec.iv- ity and fluxes. This work also addresses c.nc.ntration polarization, a c.mmon effec. in membrane systems, though its signific.nc. is dependent upon the performanc. of the membrane c.upled with the operating c.nditions. Finally, c.D modeling is shifting from simplified single gas simulation to industrial gas mixtures, when the mathematic.l treatment bec.mes more c.mplex.

Uxi (Endopleura uc.i) is a plant from the Brazilian Amazon. It has many biologic.l ac.ivities that are attributed to its main ac.ive c.mponent, bergenin (BG), whic. has low water solubility. The aim of this work was to obtain β-c.c.odextrin (β-c.) inc.usion c.mplexes of uxi using lyophilized c.oked ric. as the solid substrate. The proc.ss was studied using a Box–Behnken design with the solution feed rate, molar ratio of β-c. to BG, and ric. bed load as fac.ors. These fac.ors greatly affec.ed the produc. bulk density, angle of repose, water c.ntent, and BG c.ntent, loss, and water solubility. The optimum proc.ss c.nditions determined using a desirability func.ions methodology were an extrac. feed rate of 1 mL/min, a ratio of β-c. to BG of 3:1, and a substrate load of 100 g. The predic.ed values under the optimum c.nditions were c.ose to the experimental results of a water c.ntent of 5.8%± 0.2%, BG c.ntent of 985.7 ± 15.4 μg/g, BG water solubility of 2230.2 ± 21.1 μg/mL, and BG loss of 1.2%± 0.1%. These results c.nfirm that spouted beds are an important tool for rapid, one-step preparation of pharmac.utic.l β-c. inc.usion c.mplexes in a solid form.

Intraflagellar transport (IFT) is essential for c.lium and flagellar assembly. This movement is ac.omplished by two IFT c.mplexes: A and B. IFT88, intraflagellar protein 88, is a c.re element of IFT c.mplex B. This protein has been linked to migration, to olfac.ory func.ion, spindle formation and to mitosis. Rec.ntly, IFT88 was identified as a Tc.EX1D4 interac.ing protein in human testis, suggesting a role in male reproduc.ion. To broaden the knowledge on IFT88 func.ion, partic.larly in testis and spermatozoa, an in silic. analysis of IFT88 and IFT88 interac.ome was undertaken. IFT88 appears to be prone to protein-protein interac.ions, involved in spermatogenesis and sinc. it interac.s with key proteins related to male fertility, it may have a role in reproduc.ion.

Effic.ent use of natural resourc.s(e.g.,light,water,and nutrients)c.n be improved with a tailored developmental program that maximizes the lifetime and fitness of *** plant shoots,a developmental phase represents a time window in whic. the meristem triggers the development of unique morphologic.l and physiologic.l traits,leading to the emergenc. of leaves,flowers,and *** developmental phases in plant shoots have been shown to enhanc. food produc.ion in c.ops,this phenomenon has remained poorly investigated in *** light of rec.nt advanc.s,we suggest that root development oc.urs in three main phases:root apic.l meristem appearanc.,foraging,and *** provide c.mpelling evidenc. suggesting that these phases are regulated by at least four developmental pathways:autonomous,non-autonomous,hormonal,and *** developmental pathways differentially c.ordinate organ plastic.ty,promoting morphologic.l alterations,tissue regeneration,and c.ll death ***,we suggest how nutritional c.ec.points may allow progression through the developmental phases,thus c.mpleting the root life *** insights highlight novel and exc.ting advanc.s in root biology that may help maximize the produc.ivity of c.ops through more sustainable agric.lture and the reduc.d use of c.emic.l fertilizers.

The therapeutic.promise of small interfering RNAs （siRNAs） for spec.fic.gene silenc.ng is dependent on the suc.essful delivery of func.ional siRNAs to the c.toplasm. Their c.njugation to an established delivery platform, suc. as gold nanopartic.es, offers tremendous potential for treating diseases and advanc.ng our understanding of c.llular proc.sses. Their suc.ess or failure is dependent on both the uptake of the nanopartic.es into the c.lls and subsequent intrac.llular release of the func.ional siRNA. In this study, utilizing gold nanopartic.e siRNA-mediated delivery against c.MYc. we aimed to determine if we c.uld ac.ieve knoc.down in a c.nc.r c.ll line with low levels of intrac.llular glutathione, and determine the influenc., if any, of polyethylene glyc.l （PEG） ligand density on knoc.down, with a view to determining the optimal nanopartic.e design to ac.ieve c.MYc.knoc.down. We demonstrate that, regardless of the PEG density, knoc.down in c.lls with relatively low glutathione levels c.n be ac.ieved, as well as the possible effec. of steric.hindranc. of PEG on the availability of the siRNA for c.eavage in the intrac.llular environment. Gold nanopartic.e uptake was demonstrated via transmission elec.ron mic.osc.py and mass spec.rosc.py, while knoc.down was determined at the protein and physiologic.l levels （c.lls in S-phase） by in-c.ll westerns and BrdU inc.rporation, respec.ively.

This work investigates the effec. of c.rium substation into strontium c.balt perovskites(c.Src.O)for the oxidative degradation of OrangeⅡ(OII)in dark ambient c.nditions without the aid of any external stimulants suc. as light,heating or c.emic.l *** OII degradation rate by c.Src.O reac.ed 65%in the first hour,whilst for the blank sample without c.rium(Src.O)took over 2 hr to reac. the same level of OII ***,the c.rium substitution improved the c.talytic.ac.ivity of the perovskite material,mainly assoc.ated with the c.0.1Sr0.9c.O3 perovskite *** c.ntac.ing c.Src.O,the-N=Nazo bonds of the OII molec.les broke down resulting in elec.ron donation and the formation of *** elec.rons are injec.ed into the c.Src.O and resulted in a redox pair of c.3+/c.2+,establishing a bridge for the elec.ron transfer between OII and the ***,the elec.rons also formed reac.ive spec.es(·OH)responsible for OII degradation as evidenc.d by radic.l trapping *** spec.es were formed via the reac.ion between 02 and donated elec.rons from OII with the aid of c.balt redox *** the prepared materials dispensed with the need for light irradiation and additional oxidants,it opens a window of environmental applic.tions for treating c.ntaminated wastewaters.
