A substrate with Ni/Ti/Si structure was used to grow vertical carbon nanotubes （CNTs） with a graphite fihn over CNT tops by thermal chemical vapor deposition with CH4 gas as carbon source. The carbon nanotubes and the substrate were characterized by a field emission scanning electron microscope for the morphologies, a transmission electron microscope for the microstructures, a Raman spectrograph for the ctystallinity, and an Auger electron spectrometer for the depth distribution of elements. The result shows that when the thickness ratio of Ni layer to Ti layer in substrate is about 1, a graphite film with relatively good quality can be formed on the CNT tops.

Hydrogenated microcrystalline silicon (μcSi:H) thin films were deposited by an radio frequency (RF)(13.56 MHz) magnetron sputtering at different substrate temperatures (100–300℃), and the influences of substrate temperature on the growth and properties ofμc-Si:H thin films were investigated. Surface roughness and crystallinity of the thin films increase as substrate temperature increases. And all thin films are at the transition region(X_(c)=49.2%~61.0%). Theμc-Si:H thin films deposited at lower substrate temperature (≤200℃) represent a weak(220) preferred orientation, while the thin films deposited at higher substrate temperature (≥250℃) exhibit a weak(111) preferred orientation. The μc-Si:H thin films have a dense structure, and the structural compactness of the thin films slightly increases with substrate temperature increasing. The Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) results indicate that theμc-Si:H thin films have a low hydrogen content (3.9 at%–5.6 at%), which is in favor of reducing light-induced degradation effect.

Hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy(HAIC)using a combination of oxaliplatin,fluorouracil,and leucovorin(FOLFOX)has shown promise for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)patients classified under Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer(BCLC)stage *** China,the combined therapy of camrelizumab and apatinib is now an approved first-line approach for inoperable *** study(NCT04191889)evaluated the benefit of combining camrelizumab and apatinib with HAIC-FOLFOX for HCC patients in BCLC stage *** patients were given a maximum of six cycles of HAIC-FOLFOX,along with camrelizumab and apatinib,until either disease progression or intolerable toxicities *** primary outcome measured was the objective response rate(ORR)based on the Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors(RECIST)***-five patients were *** on RECIST v1.1 criteria,the confirmed ORR stood at 77.1%(95%CI:59.9%to 89.6%),with a disease control rate of 97.1%(95%CI:85.1%to 99.9%).The median progression-free survival was 10.38 months(95%CI:7.79 to 12.45).Patient quality of life had a transient deterioration within four cycles of treatment,and generally recovered *** most frequent grade≥3 or above treatment-related adverse events included reduced lymphocyte count(37.1%)and diminished neutrophil count(34.3%).The combination of camrelizumab,apatinib,and HAIC demonstrated encouraging results and manageable safety concerns for HCC at BCLC stage C.

BACKGROUND To report on the use of percutaneous hydrochloric acid(HCl) enhanced radiofrequency ablation(HRFA) for the treatment of large(maximum diameter ≥5 cm) hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) in the caudate *** SUMMARY Between August 2013 and June 2016, three patients with a large HCC(maximum diameter: 5.0, 5.7, and 8.1 cm) in the caudate lobe were treated by transarterial chemoembolization followed by computer tomography(CT) guided RFA using a monopolar perfusion RF electrode, which was enhanced by local infusion of 10%HCl at 0.2 mL/min(total volume, 3 to 12 mL). The output power of HRFA reached 100 W, and the average ablation time was 39 min(range, 15 to 60 min).Two patients each underwent one session of HRFA and one patient two *** treatment, CT/magnetic resonance imaging showed that all the three lesions were completely ablated. There was no major complication. Two patients had asymptomatic bile duct dilatation. One patient died of tongue cancer 24 mo after ablation. The remaining two patients were alive and no area of enhancement is detected in the caudate lobe at 28 and 60 mo after ablation, *** Percutaneous CT-guided HRFA is safe and efficacious in treating large HCC in the caudate lobe.

B2-CuZr phase reinforced amorphous alloy matrix composites has become one of the research hotspots in the field of materials science due to the“transformation-induced plasticity”phenomenon,which makes the composites show better macroscopic plastic deformability and obvious work-hardening behavior compared to the conventional amorphous alloy matrix composites reinforced with ductile ***,the in-situ metastable B2-CuZr phase tends to undergo eutectoid decomposition during solidification,and the volume fraction,size,and distribution of B2-CuZr phase are difficult to control,which limits the development and application of these *** date,much efforts have been made to solve the above problems through composition optimization,casting parameter tailoring,and post-processing *** this study,a review was given based on relevant studies,focusing on the predictive approach,reinforcing mechanism,and microstructure tailoring methods of B2-CuZr phase reinforced amorphous alloy matrix *** research focus and future prospects were also given for the future development of the present composite system.

AIM： To assess the effects of combined transcatheter arterial chemoembolization （TACE） and percutaneous ethanol ablation （PEA） in patients with large hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC）.METHODS： A total of 63 patients with unresectable large HCC were treated with TACE followed by PEA. The largest dimension of the tumors ranged from 5.3 cm to 17.8 cm. The survival rates, acute effects, toxicity and prognostic factors were analyzed.RESULTS： The cumulative survival rates at 1, 3 and 5 years were 59.4%, 28.4% and 15.8%, respectively （a median survival of 27.7 too）. Tumor area was reduced by more than 50% in 30 （47.6%） cases. In 56 cases with increased α-fetoprotein （AFP） values, AFP level was declined by more than 75%. The combined thera- py was generally well tolerated. Only two patients died from variceal bleeding associated with the therapy. The Cox proportional hazards model showed that the num- ber of tumors, the tumor margin and the ethanol dose were independent prognostic factors. CONCLUSION： The combined TACE and PEA therapy is a promising approach for unresectable large HCC.

AIM: To prospectively evaluate the effi cacy and safety of partial splenic embolization (PSE) combined with transcatheter hepatic arterial chemoembolization (TACE) in treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). METHODS: Fifty patients suffering from primary HCC associated with hypersplenism caused by cirrhosis were randomly assigned to 2 groups: group A receiving PSE combined with TACE (n = 26) and group B receiving TACE alone (n = 24). Follow-up examinations included calculation of peripheral blood cells (leukcytes, platelets and red blood cells) and treatment-associated complications. RESULTS: Prior to treatment, there was no signifi cant difference in sex, age, Child-Pugh grade, tumor diameter, mass pathology type and peripheral blood cell counts between the 2 groups. After treatment, leukocyte and platelet counts were significantly higher in group A during the 3-mo follow-up period (P 0.05). CONCLUSION: PSE combined with TACE is more effective and safe than TACE alone for patients with HCC associated with hypersplenism caused by cirrhosis.

AIM: To discuss the safety, feasibility and regularity of destruction to porcine spleen in vivo with congestion and tumescence by microwave ablation (MWA). METHODS: Ligation of the splenic vein was used to induce congestion and tumescence in vivo in five porcine spleens, and microwave ablation was performed 2-4 h later. A total of 56 ablation points were ablated and the ablation powers were 30-100 W. The ablation time (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 min) was performed at a power of 60 W. After ablation, the ablation size was measured in pigs A, C, D and E and spleen resection. In pig B, the ablation size was measuredand 2 ablation points were sent for pathology analysis and all tissues were sutured following ablation. Pig B was killed 1 wk later and the ablation points were sent for pathology analysis. Bleeding, tissue carbonization surrounding electrodes, and pathological changes were observed, and the effect on destruction volume relative to different ablation powers, times and positions was analyzed. RESULTS: The incidence of bleeding (only small amounts, < 20 mL) in the course of ablation was 5.4% (3/56) and was attributed to tissue carbonization surrounding electrodes, which also exhibited an incidence of 5.4% (3/56). The destruction volume was influenced by different ablation powers, times and points. It showed that the ablation lesion size increased with increased ablation time, from 1 to 10 min, when the ablation power was 60 W. Also, the ablation lesion size increased with the increase of ablation power, ranging from 30 to 100 W when the ablation time was set to 3 min. A direct correlation was seen between the destruction volume and ablation time by the power of 60 W (r = 0.97542, P < 0.0001, and also between the destruction volume and ablation powers at an ablation time of 3 min (r = 0.98258, P < 0.0001). There is a lack of high-quality,large-scale,real-world evidence from patients with metastatic colorectal cancer(mCRC),especially in *** remains unclear whether efforts to improve the quality of care for mCRC would improve patient survival outcomes in real-world *** the basis of an intelligent bigdata platform,we established a large-scale retrospective cohort of mCRC *** investigated the temporal changes in the systemic and local treatment(resection,ablation,or radiation to liver,lung,or extrahepatic and/or extrapulmonary metastases)patterns of mCRC,and whether these changes were associated with improved overall survival(OS)over *** July 2012 and December 2018,3403 eligible patients were included in this *** median OS was 42.8 months(95%confidence interval(CI),40.7–46.6)for the entire cohort,25.6 months(95%CI,24.7–26.9)for those treated with systemic therapy only,and not reached(95%CI,78.6 months–not reached)for those receiving local *** utility rate of local therapy increased continuously from 37.9%in 2012–2014 to 46.9%in 2017–2018.A dramatic increase in the utility rate of either cetuximab or bevacizumab was observed since 2017(39.9%,43.2%,and 60.3%in 2012–2014,2015–2016,and 2017–2018,respectively).Compared with 2012–2014,the OS of the entire population significantly improved in 2015–2016(hazard ratio(HR)=0.87(95%CI,0.78–0.99);P=0.034),but not for patients receiving systemic therapy only(HR=0.99(95%CI,0.86–1.14);P=0.889),whereas an improved OS was found in 2015–2018 for both the entire population(HR=0.75(95%CI,0.70–0.81);P<0.001)and for patients receiving systemic therapy only(HR=0.83(95%CI,0.77–0.91);P<0.001).In summary,the quality of care for mCRC,as indicated by the utility rate of targeted and local therapies,has been continuously improving over time in this study cohort,which is associated with continuously improving survival outcomes for these patients.
