The recycling of waste polyethylene terephthalate（PET）, an extensively used polymer as plastic and fiber materials, has become an urgent topic due to the rapid generation and accumulation of plastic waste into the environment. Current chemical recycling approaches to depolymerize and convert PET into 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol（CHDM）, an important chemical in the production of advanced polyesters, predominantly use organic solvents, such as alcohols or dioxane. Herein, we developed an environmentally friendly and economically viable pathway for converting PET to CHDM using water as the solvent. In this process, PET is sequentially hydrolyzed in water, hydrogenated to 1,4-cyclohexane dicarboxylic acid（CHDA）, and then reduced to CHDM. The PET conversion rate is self-enhanced in aqueous medium via acid-catalyzed hydrolysis by the generated CHDA intermediate. A Pd-based catalyst（e.g., Pd/C） selectively hydrogenates the arene ring of the PET monomer, terephthalic acid intermediate, and a Ru-Sn/C bimetallic catalyst reduces its COOH to CH2OH group. At optimized reaction conditions, a complete conversion of PET and 80.1% yield of CHDM are obtained. Alternatively, this approach can also efficiently produce CHDA from PET, with a yield up to 86.4%.

During the pandemic,face masks are one of the most significant self-protection necessities,but they also cause heat *** using the ERA5(ECMWF Reanalysis 5th Generation)database and the local weather bureau data,the effect of mask wearing on outdoor thermal sensation has been investigated by a survey conducted in the hot summer and cold winter region of eastern China in the summer of *** show that wearing a face mask for a longer period result in a higher level of discomfort,and the primary source of discomfort is hot and stuffy *** effect of relative humidity is crucial for mask wearers in warm-biased thermal environments,as mean thermal sensation vote(TSV)peaks when environmental relative humidity reaches the range of 70%to 80%and decreases after this range due to the evaporation within the microclimate created by a face ***,prolonged mask wearing increases participants’hot feelings,especially in warm ***,participants wearing face masks for less than 30 min feel hot at a physiological equivalent temperature(PET)value of 34.4℃,but those who wear them for over 60 min express hot feelings even at a PET value of 24.7℃.The participants who wear a face mask while walking slowly outdoors have similar thermal sensations to those who do not wear a mask,but are in a higher activity *** findings demonstrate that mask wearing has a crucial impact on outdoor thermal comfort assessment in a warm-biased outdoor thermal environment.

Studying molecular recognition in aqueous environments is crucial for understanding biological processes. Herein, we present a series of N-doped endo-functionalized anthracene-based cavities by introducing inward-directed pyridine units. The subtle modifications can significantly affect the binding properties of these receptors, which is similar to the mutations in biological systems. Combining theoretical calculations and molecular recognition experiments demonstrated that these “mutations” have an impact on the hydrophobicity and charge distribution of the hosts, consequently significantly influencing molecular *** is crucial for understanding the intricate mechanisms of molecular-level interactions in biological receptors.

Rapid and accurate determination of compressor characteristic maps is essential for the initial design of centrifugal compressors in aircraft power systems. The accuracy of existing methodologies, which rely on combinations of loss models, varies significantly depending on the compressor's geometry and operational range. This variance necessitates substantial experimental or Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) data for coefficient calibration. To address this challenge, this study presents an axisymmetric characteristic model for compressor performance assessment. This model incorporates the factors of blade angle, meridional passage area, and the radial deflection angle of meridional streamlines of the compressor. These factors are derived from fundamental aerodynamic equations encompassing mass, momentum, and energy conservation of the compressor. In contrast to conventional one-dimensional approaches, the proposed method reduces the number of loss coefficients and more effectively accounts for the impact of geometric alterations on centrifugal compressor properties. Furthermore, the model reduces dependence on experimental and CFD data. Efficacy of the model is validated using experimental data from four distinct types of centrifugal compressors. Correlation analysis reveals that the model's coefficients can be expressed as functions of the ratio of the Reynolds number to the impeller tip speed. This ratio serves as a characteristic parameter for the design and optimization of centrifugal compressors. Consequently, the proposed method offers an efficient and accurate means for the quick computation of centrifugal compressor characteristics. This is of great significance for improving the efficiency of centrifugal compressors and reducing energy consumption.

Domestic pigs are the second most important source of meat world-wide, and the genetic improvement of economic traits, such as meat production, growth, and disease resistance, is a critical point for efficient production in pigs. Through conventional breeding and selection programs in pigs, which are painstakingly slow processes, some economic traits, such as growth and backfat, have been greatly improved over the past several decades. However, the improvement of many polygenetic traits is still very slow and challenging to be improved by conventional breeding strategies. The development of reproductive knowledge and a variety of techniques, including foreign gene transfer strategies, somatic cell nuclear transfer（SCNT） and particularly, recently developed nuclease-mediated genome editing tools, has provided efficient ways to produce genetically modified（GM） pigs for the dramatic improvement of economic traits. In this review, we briefly discuss the progress of genomic markers used in pig breeding program, trace the history of genetic engineering, mainly focusing on the progress of recently developed genome editing tools, and summarize the GM pigs which have been generated to aim at the agricultural purposes. We also discuss the specific challenges facing application of gene engineering in pig breeding, and future prospects.

Considering the existence of multi-level fares in the alliance,and the existence of horizontal competition and vertical competition at the same time,this paper intends to maximize the revenue of airline alliance and fairly distribute the revenue to member ***,a model is built under the centralized mechanism,in which all airlines in the alliance are regarded as a *** solving the model,the shadow price of each flight leg on the code-sharing route is *** is used to calculate the proportion of the revenue ***,the centralized model is decomposed into the single airline model by the *** seat allocation among airlines and distributed revenue can be gotten by solving the *** typical examples are designed to test *** results show that,the model can effectively reflect the managerial principal of the airline alliance,that is maximizing total revenue and fairly distributing the revenue among member airlines.

Collinear dual-pulse laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy was carried out on Si crystal by using a pair of nanosecond Nd：YAG laser sources emitting at 1064 nm. The spectral intensities and signal- to-noise ratios of selected Si atomic and ionic lines were used to evaluate the optical emission. The optical emission intensity was recorded while varying the interpulse delay time and energy ratio of the two pulsed lasers. The effects of the data acquisition delay time on the line intensity and signal-to-noise ratio have been investigated as well. Based on the results, the optimal interpulse delay time, energy ratio of the two pulsed lasers, and data acquisition delay time for achieving the maximum atomic and ionic line intensities were found for generation of Si plasma with the collinear dual-pulse laser approach. The dominant mechanism for the observed line intensity variation was also discussed. In addition, the plasma temperature and electron number density at different gate delay times and different interpulse delay times were derived. A significant influence of plasma shielding on the electron temperature and electron number density at shorter interpulse delay times was observed.
