Numerical and physical models have been built and validated to study the multiphase flow inside three ladle shrouds and a four-strand tundish.A conventional straight ladle shroud and two types of trumpet-shaped ladle shroud(TLS)have been comparatively *** maximum velocity at ladle shroud outlet reduces from 1.3 to 0.5 m/s,which indicates a quieter tundish *** is demonstrated that the use of a TLS can also decrease the maximum surface velocity from 0.16 to 0.13 m/s,which reduces the tendency of forming tundish open *** flow pattern and mixing behavior are improved inside the tundish,especially in enlarging the plug volume from 6.61%to 9.04%.The difference between the near and far outlets is narrowed when the TLS is applied.A computational program was developed to calculate characteristic parameters of different ladle shroud designs,and a dimensionless index was proposed to evaluate their mass and inner *** trials have been carried out,and the results showed that TLS can reduce level fluctuation in the pouring zone,which is beneficial to promoting better protective performance from secondary contamination and heat loss during continuous casting.

We report the high power acousto-optically Q-switched operation of a dual-end-pumped Ho:YAG laser at room *** the Q-swithched mode,a maximum pulse energy of 2.4 mJ and a minimum pulse width of 23 ns at the repetition rate of 10 kHz are achieved,resulting in a peak power of 104.3 *** beam quality factor of M^(2)~1.5,which is demonstrated by a knife-edge *** addition,the Ho:YAG laser is employed as a pumping source of ZGP optical parametric oscillator,and its total average output power is 13.2 W at 3.9μm and 4.4μm with a slope efficiency of 68.4%.

Objective: To identify phytochemical constituents present in the extract of flowers of Xanthoceras sorbifolia and evaluate their anti-oxidant and anti-hyperglycemic ***: The AlCl3colorimetric method and Prussian Blue assay were used to determine the contents of total flavonoids and total phenolic acids in extraction layers, and the bioactive layers was screened through anti-oxidative activity in vitro. The Waters ACQUITY UPLC system and a Waters ACQUITY UPLC BEH C18column(2.0 mm × 150 mm, 5 μm) were used to identify the ingredients. And anti-oxidative ingredients were screened by off-line UPLC-QTOF-MS/MS-free radical scavenging. The ameliorative role of it was further evaluated in a high-fat, streptozotocin-induced type 2 diabetic rat model and the study was carried out on NADPH oxidase(PDB ID: 2CDU) by molecular ***: Combined with the results of activity screening in vitro, the anti-oxidative part was identified as the ethyl acetate layer. A total of 24 chemical constituents were identified by liquid chromatographymass spectrometry in the ethyl acetate layer and 13 main anti-oxidative active constituents were preliminarily screened out through off-line UPLC-QTOF-MS/MS-free radical scavenging. In vivo experiments showed that flowers of X. sorbifolia could significantly reduce the blood glucose level of diabetic mice and alleviate liver cell damage. Based on the results of docking analysis related to the identified phytocompounds and oxidase which involved in type 2 diabetes, quercetin 3-O-rutinoside, kaempferol-3-O-rhamnoside, isorhamnetin-3-O-glucoside, and isoquercitrin showed a better inhibitory ***: The ethyl acetate layer was rich in flavonoids and phenolic acids and had significant anti-oxidant activity, which could prevent hyperglycemia. This observed activity profile suggested X. sorbifolia flowers as a promising new source of tea to develop alternative natural anti-diabetic products with a high safety margin.

Isovaleraldehyde possesses malty, fruity, cocoa-like odor and is widely used in fruit, chocolate, coffee flavors. The preparation of natural isovaleraldehyde by the Maillard model reaction was studied in this paper. The effects of the ratio of d-glucose/l-leucine, reaction temperature and pH value on the yield of isovaleraldehyde were explored. The optimum conditions were as follows: n(d-glucose):n(l-leucine) = 4, temperature 150 °C, reaction time 3 h, pH 5. The highest yield of isovaleraldehyde obtained was about 32%.

Based on the principles of the Hall effect for ultrasound excitation and wave propagation in a static magnetic field,the theory of ultrasound induced Hall voltage generation is derived in explicit formulae with consideration of the acoustic radiation for a planar *** is proved by numerical simulations that the induced Hall voltage is mainly generated at the conductivity boundary and can be used to map the spatial variation of the conductivity value along the acoustic transmission *** the simulated Hall voltage and the reconstructed image show good agreement with the experimental results of Wen[Ultrasonic Imaging 20(1998)206,21(1999)186].The promising simulation results suggest the potential of implementing medical electrical impedance imaging by means of ultrasound induced Hall effect imaging.

Semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes (s-SWCNTs) are the foundation of CNT-based electronics and optoelectronics. For practical applications, s-SWCNTs should be produced with high purity, high structural quality, low cost, and high yield. Currently conjugated polymer wrapping method shows great potential to fulfill these requirements due to its advantages of simple operation process, high purity separation, and easy scaling-up. However, only a small portion of both CNTs and polymers go into the final solution, and most of them are discarded after a single use, resulting in high cost and low yield. In this paper, we introduce a closed-loop recycling strategy, in which raw materials (CNTs and polymers) and solvents were all recycled and reused for multiple separation cycles. In each cycle, high-purity (> 99.9%) s-SWCNTs were obtained with no significant change of structural quality. After 7 times of recycling and separation, the material cost was reduced to ∼ 1% in comparison with commercially available products, and total yield was increased to 36% in comparison with 2%–5% for single cycle separation. Our proposed closed-loop recycling strategy paves the way for low-cost and high-yield mass production of high-quality s-SWCNTs.
