The Unprecedented Extreme Anticyclonic Anomaly over Northeast Asia in July 2021 and Its Climatic Impacts

This study investigates the evolution of an extreme anomalous anticyclone(AA)event over Northeast Asia,which was one of the dominant circulation systems responsible for the catastrophic extreme precipitation event in July 2021 in Henan,and further explores the significant impact of this AA on surface temperatures beneath *** results indicate that this AA event over Northeast Asia was unprecedented in terms of intensity and *** AA was very persistent and extremely strong for 10 consecutive days from 13 to 22 July *** long-lived and unprecedented AA led to the persistence of warmer surface temperatures beyond the temporal span of the pronounced 500-hPa anticyclonic signature as the surface air temperatures over land in Northeast Asia remained extremely warm through 29 July ***,the sea surface temperatures in the Sea of Japan/East Sea were extremely high for 30 consecutive days from 13 July to 11 August 2021,persisting well after the weakening or departure of this *** results emphasize the extreme nature of this AA over Northeast Asia in July 2021 and its role in multiple extreme climate events,even over remote ***,possible reasons for this long-lasting AA are explored,and it is suggested to be a byproduct of a teleconnection pattern over extratropical Eurasia during the first half of its life cycle,and of the Pacific-Japan teleconnection pattern during the latter half.

Thermal damage and thermal fracture of rocks are two important indicators in geothermal mining *** paper investigates the effects of heating and water-cooling on granite specimens at various *** laboratory uniaxial compression experiments were also ***,a coupled thermo-mechanical ordinary state-based peridynamic(OSB-PD)model and corresponding numerical scheme were developed to simulate the damage of rocks after the heating and cooling processes,and the change of crack evolution process was *** results demonstrate that elevated heating temperatures exacerbate the thermal damage to the specimens,resulting in a decrease in peak strength and an increase in ductility of *** escalating occurrence of thermal-induced cracks significantly affects the crack evolution process during the loading *** numerical results accurately reproduce the damage and fracture characteristics of the granite under different final heating temperatures(FHTs),which are consistent with the test results in terms of strength,crack evolution process,and failure mode.

Optimal Timing of Business Conversion for Solvency Improvement

In this paper,we study the optimal timing to convert the risk of business for an insurance company in order to improve its *** cash flow of company evolves according to a jump-diffusion *** conversion option offers the company an opportunity to transfer the jump risk business *** exchange for this option,the company needs to pay both fixed and proportional transaction *** proportional cost can also be seen as the profit loading of the jump risk *** formulated this problem as an optimal stopping *** solving this stopping problem,we find that the optimal timing of business conversion mainly depends on the profit loading of the jump risk business.A larger profit loading would make the conversion option *** fixed cost,however,only delays the optimal timing of business *** the end,numerical results are provided to illustrate the impacts of transaction costs and environmental parameters to the optimal strategies.

儿童副脾扭转3例并文献复习

目的探讨儿童副脾扭转的临床特征及治疗手段。方法收集2019年12月至2021年11月南京医科大学附属儿童医院收治的3例副脾扭转患儿临床资料,其中男1例,女2例;年龄范围为11岁5个月至13岁7个月,2例患儿通过术中及术后病理证实,1例患儿通过B型超声及CT检查明确。通过PubMed数据库、万方医学网及申请文献传递等方式收集1962年9月至2021年10月以中文、英文发表的涉及儿童副脾扭转的相关文献,分析副脾扭转患儿的临床症状、影像学特征及治疗方法。结果病例1、2行腹腔镜副脾切除术后恢复良好,病例3行保守治疗,梗死副脾明显缩小,目前仍在随访中。共检索到儿童副脾扭转梗死相关文献24篇共计24例。其中男女占比50%,发病年龄为(8.87±5.19)岁,以腹痛为主要症状的比例达到87.5%(21/24),梗死副脾长轴为(6.13±2.27)cm。副脾所在部位以大网膜(37.5%,9/24)及脾门(16.7%,4/24)为主,绝大部分患儿都是通过B型超声及CT来协助诊断,术前只有22.7%(5/22)的病例能够明确诊断。副脾梗死的治疗方式包括开腹手术、腹腔镜手术及保守治疗。结论儿童副脾扭转非常罕见,误诊率高,临床主要通过B型超声及CT检查辅助诊断,目前治疗方法以腹腔镜手术为主。

This paper concerns the linearization problem on rational maps of degree d≥2 and polynomials of degree d>2 from the perspective of *** authors introduce a set l_(∞) of irrational numbers and show that if α∈l_(∞),then any rational map is not linearizable and has infinitely many cycles in every neighborhood of the fixed point with multiplier λ=e^(2πiα),Adding more constraints to cubic polynomials,they discuss the above problems by polynomial-like *** the family of polynomials,with the help of Yoccoz's method,they obtain its maximum dimension of the set in which the polynomials are non-linearizable.

A recent study on the submolecular-scale control of phototautomerization methods and the underlying reaction mechanisms was reported in Nature Nanotechnology by Guillaume and co-workers[1],elucidating how the field confinement effect generated by the scanning tunneling microscope(STM)tip precisely triggers the phototautomerization of a free-base phthalocyanine at the submolecular level and demonstrating that the reaction process can be finely controlled by adjusting either the laser excitation wavelength or the position of the tip.

Multi-layer quasi-zero-stiffness meta-structure for high-efficiency vibration isolation at low frequency

An easily stackable multi-layer quasi-zero-stiffness(ML-QZS) meta-structure is proposed to achieve highly efficient vibration isolation performance at low ***, the distributed shape optimization method is used to design the unit cel, i.e., the single-layer QZS(SL-QZS) meta-structure. Second, the stiffness feature of the unit cell is investigated and verified through static experiments. Third, the unit cells are stacked one by one along the direction of vibration isolation, and thus the ML-QZS meta-structure is constructed. Fourth, the dynamic modeling of the ML-QZS vibration isolation metastructure is conducted, and the dynamic responses are obtained from the equations of motion, and verified by finite element(FE) simulations. Finally, a prototype of the ML-QZS vibration isolation meta-structure is fabricated by additive manufacturing, and the vibration isolation performance is evaluated experimentally. The results show that the vibration isolation performance substantially enhances when the number of unit cells increases. More importantly, the ML-QZS meta-structure can be easily extended in the direction of vibration isolation when the unit cells are properly stacked. Hence, the ML-FQZS vibration isolation meta-structure should be a fascinating solution for highly efficient vibration isolation performance at low frequency.

To explain the recent three-year La Niña event from 2020 to 2022,which has caused catastrophic weather events worldwide,Fasullo et al.(2023)demonstrated that the increase in biomass aerosol resulting from the 2019-20 Australian wildfire season could have triggered this multi-year La Niñ***,we present compelling evidence from paleo-proxies,utilizing a substantial sample size of 26 volcanic eruptions in the Southern Hemisphere(SH),to support the hypothesis that ocean cooling in the SH can lead to a multi-year La Niña *** research highlights the importance of focusing on the Southern Ocean,as current climate models struggle to accurately simulate the Pacific response driven by the Southern Ocean.

Perturbation of autophagy pathways in murine alveolar macrophage by 2D TMDCs is chalcogen-dependent

Increasing risks of incidental and occupational exposures to two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides(2D TMDCs)due to their broad application in various areas raised their public health *** the composition-dependent cytotoxicity of 2D TMDCs has been well-recognized,how the outer chalcogenide atoms and inner transition metal atoms differentially contribute to their perturbation on cell homeostasis at non-lethal doses remains to be *** the present work,we compared the autophagy induction and related mechanisms in response to WS_(2),NbS_(2),WSe_(2)and Nb Se_(2)nanosheets exposures in MH-S murine alveolar *** these 2D TMDCs had comparable physicochemical properties,overall cytotoxicity and capability in triggering autophagy in MH-S cells,but showed outer chalcogen-dependent subcellular localization and activation of autophagy ***,WS_(2)and NbS_(2)nanosheets adhered on the cell surface and internalized in the lysosomes,and triggered m TOR-dependent activation of ***,WSe_(2)and Nb Se_(2)nanosheets had extensive distribution in cytoplasm of MH-S cells and induced autophagy in an m TOR-independent ***,the 2D TMDCs-induced perturbation on autophagy aggravated the cytotoxicity of respirable benzo[a]*** findings provide a deeper insight into the potential health risk of environmental 2D TMDCs from the perspective of homeostasis perturbation.

Natural polysaccharide-based smart CXCR4-targeted nano-system for magnified liver fibrosis therapy

Activated hepatic stellate cells(aHSCs),the main source of extracellular matrix deposition,are key targets in liver ***,no effective drug specific to aHSCs has been clinically applied due to poor drug delivery ***,we designed a CXC chemokine receptor 4(CXCR4)-targeted reactive oxygen species(ROS)-responsive platform AMD-Dex-ROS-responsive-sorafenib(ARS)based on natural polysaccharide and thioctic acid frame,which can deliver anti-fibrosis drug represented by sorafenib specifically to aHSCs on account of CXCR4 over-expression on aHSCs,and smartly disassemble via ROS-responsive thioketal rupture relying on high intracellular ROS in HSCs,realized on-demand drug release and effective liver fibrosis ***,in this platform,the CXCR4 antagonist AMD3100 not only enhanced aHSCs targeting efficiency of sorafenib but also effectively magnified the aHSCs elimination of sorafenib by blocking stroma cell derived factor-1(SDF-1)/CXCR4-induced aHSCs protection,resulting in synergistic anti-fibrosis *** platform provided a new approach for drug delivery system design and liver fibrosis treatment.
