A hybrid deep neural network based prediction of 300 MW coalfired boiler combustion operation condition

In power generation industries,boilers are required to be operated under a range of different conditions to accommodate demands for fuel randomness and energy *** prediction of the combustion operation condition is crucial for an in-depth understanding of boiler performance and maintaining high combustion ***,it is difficult to establish an accurate prediction model based on traditional data-driven methods,which requires prior expert knowledge and a large number of labeled *** overcome these limitations,a novel prediction method for the combustion operation condition based on flame imaging and a hybrid deep neural network is *** proposed hybrid model is a combination of convolutional sparse autoencoder(CSAE)and least support vector machine(LSSVM),i.e.,CSAE-LSSVM,where the convolutional sparse autoencoder with deep architectures is utilized to extract the essential features of flame image,and then essential features are input into the least support vector machine for operation condition prediction.A comprehensive investigation of optimal hyper-parameter and dropout technique is carried out to improve the performance of the *** effectiveness of the proposed model is evaluated by 300 MW tangential coal-fired boiler flame *** prediction accuracy of the proposed hybrid model reaches 98.06%,and its prediction time is 3.06 ms/*** is observed that the proposed model could present a superior performance in comparison to other existing neural network models.

An in-depth understanding of the catalytic reaction mechanism is the key to designing efficient and stable catalysts. In situ transmission electron microscope(TEM) is the most powerful tool to visualize and analyze the microstructures of catalysts during catalysis. In situ TEM combined with three-dimensional(3D) electron tomography(ET) reconstruction technique enables interrogations of catalysts’ structural dynamics and chemical changes in high temporal and spatial dimensions. In this review, we discuss and summarize the recent advances in in situ TEM together with 3D ET for catalyst studies. Topics include the latest research progress of in situ TEM imaging as well as 3D visualization and quantitative analysis of catalysts. We also pay particular attention to artificial intelligence(AI)-enhanced smart 3D ET. These include deep learning(DL)-based data compression and storage for the analysis of large TEM data, recovery of wedge-shaped information lost in 3D ET reconstructions, and DL models for reducing residual artifacts in 3D reconstructed images. Finally, the challenges and development prospects of current in situ TEM and 3D ET research are discussed.

The protein complex crystallographic beamline BL19U1 at the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility is one of the five beamlines dedicated to protein sciences operated by National Facility for Protein Science(Shanghai,China).The beamline,which features a small-gap invacuum undulator,has been officially open to users since March *** beamline delivers X-ray in the energy range 7–15 *** its high flux,low divergence beam and a large active area detector,BL19U1 is designed for proteins with large molecular weight and large crystallographic unit cell *** performance and stable operation of the beamline have allowed the number of Protein Data Bank(PDB)depositions and the number of articles published based on data collected at this beamline to increase *** date,over 300 research groups have collected data at the *** than 600 PDB entries have been deposited at the PDB(***).More than 300 papers have been published that include data collected at the beamline,including 21 research articles published in the top-level journals Cell,Nature,and Science.

A Comprehensive Evaluation Framework of Water-Energy-Food System Coupling Coordination in the Yellow River Basin,China

For mankind’s survival and development,water,energy,and food(WEF)are essential material *** China,however,the spatial distribution of WEF is seriously unbalanced and ***,a collaborative governance mechanism that aims at nexus security needs to be urgently *** this paper,the Yellow River Basin in China with a representative WEF system,was selected as a ***,a comprehensive framework for WEF coupling coordination was constructed,and the relationship and mechanism between them were analyzed ***,we investigated the spatiotemporal characteristics and driving mechanisms of the coupling coordination degree(CCD)with a composite evaluation method,coupling coordination degree model,spatial statistical analysis,and multiscale geographic weighted ***,policy implications were discussed to promote the coordinated development of the WEF *** results showed that:1)WEF subsystems showed a significant imbalance of spatial pattern and diversity in temporal changes;2)the CCD for the WEF system varied little and remained at moderate *** with moderate coordination have increased,while areas with superior coordination and mild disorder have *** addition,the spatial clustering phenomenon of the CCD was significant and showed obvious characteristics of polarization;and 3)the action of each factor is self-differentiated and regionally *** different factors,GDP per capita was of particular importance,which contributed most to the regional development’s coupling *** different regions,GDP per capita,average yearly precipitation,population density,and urbanization rate exhibited differences in geographical gradients in an east-west *** conclusion can provide references for regional resource allocation and sustainable development by enhancing WEF system utilization efficiency.

Influence of Evaporating Under the Clouds on the Precipitation Stable Isotope in the Transition Zone Between Tibetan Plateau and Arid Region of China

Consideration of stable isotopes in precipitation is valuable for investigating hydrological ***,correcting the measured isotopic composition of precipitation under below-cloud evaporation is *** accurate description of the underlying processes affecting stable isotopic composition of precipitation could help improve our understanding of the water *** transitivity between monsoonal and arid climates was reflected by the evaporation rate of falling raindrops in precipitation in the Qilian Mountains,a typical transition zone between Tibetan Plateau and arid region of *** 1310 precipitation event-scale samples,based on stable isotope analysis method,the mean below-cloud evaporation rate(f)in the study area was measured as 12.00%during the summer half-year(May-October).The evaporation rate on the northern slopes(12.70%)of the Qilian Mountains in China was significantly higher than that on the southern slopes(9.98%).The transition between monsoonal and arid climates was reflected in the evaporation rate of falling raindrops during precipitation in the Qilian Mountains of ***-cloud evaporation contributed to a noticeable enrichment of stable isotopes in the precipitation in the study *** monthly precipitationδ^(18)O enrichment rate in the Qilian Mountains of China from May to October was 29.18%,23.35%,25.60%,22.99%,31.64%,and 14.72%,*** every 1.00%increase in the evaporation rate of raindrops in Qilian Mountains of China,the changes in the concentration of oxygen isotopes from the bottom of the clouds to the ground increased by 0.92‰;however,with an evaporation rate of<5.00%,for every 1.00%increase in the evaporation rate of raindrops the changes in the concentration of oxygen isotopes from the bottom of the clouds to the ground increased by 1.00‰could also be ***,altitude was an important factor affecting below-cloud evaporation in the study area.

Advancements in synthetic and electrocatalytic exploitation of guest-host intercalated 2D materials

The emergence and development of layered materials have shown great promise for many applications, especially in recent years, the effective modulation of the physicochemical properties of layered materials by intercalation chemistry has led to great potential in material design. In this paper, we review the reaction mechanisms of different guest species(metal atoms/ions, organic molecules/ions, inorganic molecules and inorganic ions)intercalated into the host layered materials as well as the recent progress. It is also reviewed that layered intercalated materials with controllable structure and tunable physicochemical properties can be prepared through the occurrence of interactions between different subjects and guests. The specific applications of intercalation chemistry in the field of electrocatalysis, such as the hydrogen evolution reaction, oxygen evolution reaction, oxygen reduction reaction and other electrocatalytic reactions, are then discussed, with emphasis on the mechanism of the improved catalytic activity and stability of the layered materials after guest intercalation.

N-doped core-shell mesoporous carbon spheres embedded by Ni nanoparticles for CO_(2)electroreduction

Herein,we successfully prepare highly dispersed and uniform small nano-size nickel nanoparticles embedded on core-shell carbon spheres by confined-deposition *** mesoporous silica layer containing surfactant coated on the surface of the polymer sphere provides confined space and effectively controls the growth of nickel nanoparticles during *** the same time,the introduction of nickel species has an impact on structure of the obtained carbon spheres,and it can promote the deposition of carbon to realize the adjustment from hollow to core-shell and then to solid *** to the uniform distribution of Ni nanoparticles with small size,mesoporous structure,N-doping groups,high specified surface areas,and core-shell structure,the obtained catalyst shows exciting ability for the production of CO by reduction of CO_(2)with a maximum CO Faradaic efficiency of 98%,indicating its promising prospect in electro-reduction of CO_(2).

Vertical concentration profile of nonuniform sediment

A new formula for the concentration profile of nonuniform sediment is derived using the diffusion differential equation with equilibrium bed *** interaction coefficient for nonuniform sediment particles as a function of both relative diameter and geometric standard deviation of nonuniform sediment is taken into account in the settling *** diffusion coefficient is obtained from the logarithmic velocity *** new formula possesses several advantages as follows:(1) avoids theoretical defect of the Rouse formula,which states that the sediment concentration is infinite at the bottom and zero at the water surface.(2) suitable for an arbitrary fraction of nonuniform sediment,and(3) easy to apply with a simple *** formula yields less difference among concentration profiles for various particles than that for uniform sediment and reveals the law for fractional conce ntration distribution of nonuniform *** calculated concentration agrees well with the measured data from the Yangtze River.

Polyamide Nanofiltration Membrane from Surfactant-assembly Regulated Interfacial Polymerization of 2-Methylpiperazine for Divalent Cations Removal

Removal of metal ions from water can not only alleviate the scaling problem of domestic and industrial water,but also solve the water safety problem caused by heavy metal ion ***,we fabricate a positively charged nanofiltration membrane via surfactant-assembly regulated interfacial polymerization(SARIP)of 2-methylpiperazine(MPIP)and trimesoyl chloride(TMC).Due to the existence of methyl substituent,MPIP has lower reactive activity than piperazine(PIP)but stronger affinity to hexane,resulting in a nanofiltration(NF)membrane with an opposite surface charge and a loose polyamide active ***,with the help of sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)assembly at the water/hexane,the reactivity between MPIP and TMC was obviously increased and caused in turn the formation of a positively charged polyamide active layer with a smaller pore size,as well as with a narrower pore size *** resulting membrane shows a highly efficient removal of divalent cations from water,of which the rejections of MgCl_(2),CoCl_(2)and NiCl_(2)are higher than 98.8%,98.0%and 98.0%,respectively,which are better than those of most of other positively charged NF membranes reported in literatures.

Multi-omics Data Reveal the Effect of Sodium Butyrate on Gene Expression and Protein Modification in Streptomyces

Streptomycetes possess numerous gene clusters and the potential to produce a large amount of natural *** deacetylase(HDAC)inhibitors play an important role in the regulation of histone modifications in fungi,but their roles in prokaryotes remain poorly ***,we investigated the global effects of the HDAC inhibitor,sodium butyrate(SB),on marine-derived Streptomyces olivaceus FXJ 8.021,particularly focusing on the activation of secondary metabolite *** antiSMASH analysis revealed 33 secondary metabolite biosynthetic gene clusters(BGCs)in strain FXJ 8.021,among which the silent lobophorin BGC was activated by *** data showed that the expression of genes involved in lobophorin biosynthesis(ge00097–ge00139)and CoA-ester formation(e.g.,ge02824),as well as the glycolysis/gluconeogenesis pathway(e.g.,ge01661),was significantly up-regulated in the presence of *** CoA-ester analysis confirmed that SB triggered the biosynthesis of CoA-ester,thereby increasing the precursor supply for lobophorin *** acetylomic analysis revealed that the acetylation levels on 218 sites of 190 proteins were up-regulated and those on 411 sites of 310 proteins were *** acetylated proteins were particularly enriched in transcriptional and translational machinery components(e.g.,elongation factor GE04399),and their correlations with the proteins involved in lobophorin biosynthesis were established by protein–protein interaction network analysis,suggesting that SB might function via a complex hierarchical.
