Synthetic host-guest pairs as novel bioorthogonal tools for pre-targeting

Due to its simplicity, high efficiency, and chemo-selectivity, bioorthogonal chemistry has shown a great application potential in ***, four bioorthogonal pairs as targeting tools, including (strept)avidin/biotin, antibody/antigen, oligonucleotide hybridization and IEDDA tools, have been developed and applied in targeted ***, all of these tools still suffer from some limitations, such as difficult modification, biochemical fragility and larger molecular weight for biological association tools, as well as chemical instability for IEDDA *** host-guest pairs with relatively small molecular sizes not only possess strong chemical stability, but also have the features of fast conjugation rate, tunable binding affinity , easy modification, and high ***, they can be used as a novel non-covalent bioorthogonal tool for *** order to further promote the development of host-guest pairs as novel bioorthogonal tools for pre-targeted delivery, we firstly calculate their conversion rate to make researcher aware of their unique advantages;next, we summarize the recent research progress in this *** future perspectives and limitations of these unique tools will be *** review will provide a systemic overview of the development of synthetic host-guest pairs as novel bioorthogonal tools for pre-targeting, and may serve as a “go for” resort for researchers who are interested in searching for new synthetic tools to improve pre-targeting.

Life cycle assessment of homogeneous Fenton process as pretreatment for refractory pharmaceutical wastewater

The applicability of the life cycle assessment(LCA)to the Fenton process should be considered not only at the laboratory-scale but also at the *** this study,the LCA process was applied to evaluate the homo-geneous Fenton process for the treatment of high salinity pharmaceutical *** potential environmental impacts were calculated using Simapro software implemen-ting the CML 2001 methodology with normalization factors of 1995 *** data obtained directly from the full-scale wastewater treatment plant and labora-tory were used to conduct a life cycle inventory analysis,ensuring highly accurate *** normalized results,the Fenton process reveals sensitive indicators,primarily toxi-city indicators(human toxicity,freshwater aquatic toxicity,and marine aquatic toxicity),as well as acidification and eutrophication impacts,contributed by hydrogen peroxide and iron sludge incineration,***,hydrogen peroxide and iron sludge incineration contribute significantly,accounting for at least 78%of these *** sludge treatment phase,treatment of iron mud and infrastructure of hazardous waste incineration plants were the key contributors of environmental impacts,adding up to more than 95%.This study suggests the need to develop efficient oxidation processes and effective iron sludge treatment methods to reduce resource utilization and improve environmental benefits.

Realizing high initial Coulombic efficiency in manganese-based layered oxide cathodes for sodium-ion batteries via P2/O'3 biphasic structure optimization

Mn-based layered oxides are among the most promising cathode materials for sodium-ion batteries owing to the advantages of abundance,environmenta friendliness,low cost and high specific capacity.P2 and O'3 are two representative structures of Mn-based layered ***,the P2 structure containing insufficien Na generally exhibits low initial charge capacity,while O'3structure with sufficient Na delivers high initial charge capacity but poor cycle *** study prepared a multitude of Na_(x)MnO_(2)(x=0.7,0.8,0.9)cathode materials with varying P2/O'3 ratios and further investigated their electrochemical *** optimized Na_(0.8)MnO_(2) comprising 69.9 wt%O'3 and 30.1 wt%P2 phase,exhibited relatively balanced specific capacity,Coulombic efficiency and cycle ***,it achieved a high specific capacity of 128.9 mAh·g^(-1) with an initia Coulombic efficiency of 98.2%in half-cell configuration The Na_(0.8)MnO_(2)//hard carbon full cell also achieved a high specific capacity of 126.7 mAh·g^(-1) with an initia Coulombic efficiency of 98.9%.Moreover,the capacity fading mechanism was revealed by combining in-situ and ex-situ X-ray *** findings of this study provide theoretical guidance for further modification design of Mnbased layered cathodes.

An improved installation of 2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzyl(iHmb)method for chemical protein synthesis

The 2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzyl(Hmb)backbone modification can prevent amide bond-mediated sidereactions(e.g.,aspartimide formation,peptide aggregation)by installing the removable Hmb group into a peptide bond,thus improving the synthesis of long and challenging peptides and ***,its use is largely precluded by the limited Hmb’s installation *** this report,an improved installation of Hmb(iHmb)method was developed to achieve the flexible installation and the convenient removal of *** iHmb method involves two critical steps:(1)oxidative diazotization of the readily installed 2-hydroxy-4-methoxy-5-amino-benzyl(Hmab)to give 2-hydroxy-4-methoxy-5-diazonium-benzyl(Hmdab)by combining soamyl nitrite(IAN)/HBF_(4),and(2)reductive elimination of Hmdab to give the desired Hmb by 1,2-ethanedithiol(EDT).The iHmb method enables the installation of Hmb at any primary amino acid including the highly sterically hindered amino acids(e.g.,valine and isoleucine).The practicality and utility of the iHmb method was demonstrated by one-shot solid-phase synthesis of a challenging aspartimide-prone peptide,the mirror-image version of a hydrophobic peptide and a long-chain peptide up to ***,the iHmb method can be utilized to facilitate chemical protein ligation,as exemplified by the synthesis of the single-spanning membrane protein *** iHmb method expands the toolkit for peptide synthesis and ligation and facilitates the preparation of peptides/proteins.

Numerical Study on the Effect of Gap Diffraction on the Hydrodynamic Performance of A Floating Breakwater

Isocyanide-Based One-Pot Cascade Synthesis of 3-Acyl Isoindolinones

A series of 3-acyl-substituted isoindolinone derivatives were synthesized in a one-pot manner via the reaction of o-bromobenzaldehydes,isocyanides,and carboxylic acids in the presence of palladium catalyst and base. The reaction employing easily available starting materials features simple operation and high efficiency. The mechanistic study showed that the reaction might undergo 1) Pd-catalyzed [3+2] cyclization of o-bromobenzaldehyde with isocyanide and the re-insertion of another molecule of isocyanide,2) addition of carboxylic acid to in situ formed ketenimine followed by a rearrangement relay to give 3,3-diacyl-substituted isoindolinone derivative. Further transformations of the obtained products through decarbonylation could also be realized.

Self-powered stimuli responsive material for dual stimulation of heat and guest molecules

Stimuli-responsive smart materials exhibit reverse chemical/physical changes in response to external stimuli and research on stimuli-responsive smart materials with self-powered properties is still uncultivated ***,we report perovskite crystalline self-powered multiple stimuli-responsive materials triggered by chemical and thermal stimuli.[HMEP]PbI_(3)·(H_(2)O)(1;HMEP is a hydroxytris(1-methylethyl)phosphorus cation)crystallizes in a chiral space group P 21 at 293 K and has the piezoelectric reaction(d_(33)=10 pC/N and output voltage=1 V)of self-powered modes,this value is larger than the value of 3 pC/N for the classical piezoelectric material *** materials can generate energy due to mechanical deformation,and using thermal heating to lose water,[HMEP]PbI_(3)(2)can be obtained.2 crystallizes in the non-centrosymmetric space group,undergoes two reversible phase transitions at 243/255 K and 315/348 K,and shows second harmonic generation ***,2 can return to the hydrated form 1 after absorbing *** work will lay the foundation for self-powered stimuli-responsive compounds and contribute to the construction of novel organic-inorganic hybrid materials with second harmonic generation switching.

A systematic understanding of microbial reductive dechlorination towards an improved “one health” soil bioremediation: A review and perspective

Chlorinated organic pollutants(COPs), both emerging and traditional, are typical persistent pollutants that harm soil health worldwide. Dechlorinators mediated reductive dechlorination is the optimal way to completely remove COPs from anaerobic soil through a redox reaction driven by electron transfer during microbial anaerobic respiration. Generally, the dechlorinated depletion of COPs in situ often interacts with multiple element biogeochemical activities, e.g., methanogenesis, sulfate reduction, iron reduction, and denitrification. Elucidating the relevance of biogeochemical cycles between COPs and multiple elements and the coupled mechanisms involved, thus, helps to develop effective pollution control strategies with the balance between pollution degradation and element cycles in heterogeneous soil, ultimately contributing to “one health” goal. In this review, we summarized the microbial-chemical coupling redox processes and the driving factors, elucidated the interspecies metabolites exchange and electron transfer mechanisms within COP-dechlorinating communities, and further proposed a detailed design, construction, and analysis framework of engineering COP-dechlorinating microbiomes via “top-down” selfassembly and “bottom-up” synthesis to pave the way from laboratory to practical field application. Especially, we delve into the major challenges and perspectives surrounding the design of state-of-the-art synthetic microbial communities. Our goal is to improve the understanding of the microbial-mediated coupling between reductive dechlorination and element biogeochemical cycling, with a particular focus on the implications for health-integrated soil bioremediation under the “one health” concept.

Dexamethasone implant in naive versus refractory patients with diabetic macular edema:a Meta-analysis

AIM:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of the intravitreal dexamethasone implant in naive and refractory patients with diabetic macular edema(DME).METHODS:PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,and Medline databases were *** main outcomes were best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA)and central retinal thickness(CRT).The secondary outcomes included mean number of injections,intraoperative or postoperative complications including intraocular pressure(IOP)elevation and ***:Ten comparative studies involving a total of 1000 DME eyes including 402 naive eyes and 598 refractory eyes were *** postoperative BCVA in the naive group was significantly better than in the refractory group[mean difference(MD)-0.11,95%confidence interval(CI)-0.17 to-0.05,P=0.0003;MD 8.69,95%CI 5.08 to 12.30,P<0.00001].Additionally,the naive group got greater improvement of BCVA change as well as more gains of BCVA letters than the refractory group[MD 7.71,95%CI 2.02 to 13.40,P=0.008;odds ratio(OR)2.99,95%CI 2.05 to 4.37,P<0.00001].The subgroup analysis revealed that the naive group had significantly higher BCVA gains of≥5,≥10,and≥15 letters compared to the refractory group(P=0.002,0.0001,0.003,respectively).No significant difference was detected between the two groups in either postoperative CRT(MD-22.36,95%CI-46.39 to 1.66,P=0.07)or the overall mean number of injections(MD-0.08,95%CI-0.38 to 0.22,P=0.61).Intraoperative and postoperative complications including the elevation of IOP(OR 0.47,95%CI 0.20 to 1.13,P=0.09)and cataract(OR 1.78,95%CI 0.97 to 3.24,P=0.06)showed no significant differences between the two groups during the follow-up ***:Intravitreal dexamethasone implants for DME can improve anatomical and functional outcomes in both naive and refractory eyes and have a well-acceptable safety ***,naive eyes maintain better visual outcomes than refractory *** provides further evidence of better visual response when used for naive eyes as firstline t
