Knowledge and awareness of glaucoma in Mexican patients with and without glaucoma diagnosis in an Ophthalmology Referral Center

AIM: To assess and compare knowledge and awareness of glaucoma in subjects with and without glaucoma diagnosis attending an Ophthalmology Referral ***: This cross-sectional study was conducted at Asociación Para Evitar la Ceguera in Mexico City, using a questionnaire formulated by a group of experts following the Delphi panel rules, and pre-tested in a pilot *** questionnaire was applied and compared between:glaucoma patients, relatives of glaucoma patients and patients without glaucoma. socio-demographic data was collected to assess correlation with the level of knowledge using Logistic regression models, estimating the odds ratios(OR), 95% confidence intervals, and Pndred and ninety-four subjects were enrolled;with a median age of 61y. One hundred and thirty-four(34%) were patients with glaucoma, 152(38.6%)patients without glaucoma, and 108(27.4%) relatives of patients with glaucoma. Two hundred and ninety-one(73.9%) participants were aware of the term “glaucoma”.Regarding knowledge 46.7% had moderate knowledge,37.8% had poor knowledge, and 15.5% good ***, relatives of glaucoma patients had the highest scores, and patients without glaucoma got the lowest scores. A positive correlation was found between better knowledge and frequent ophthalmological examinations OR 2.24(P=0.02), higher education level OR 4.17(P=0.00) and having a family member with glaucoma OR 3.28(P=0.00).COnCLUsIOn: Awareness and knowledge of glaucoma in subjects attending an Ophthalmology Referral Center is predominantly moderate or poor. This has important implications regarding attitudes that can result in lack of follow up in ophthalmological care.

The Pionic Deuterium and the Pion Tetrahedron Vacuum Polarization

A double-well potential model is proposed for the pionic deuterium that enables to calculate the energy split, the potential barrier height and estimate the pion tetrahedron edge length. We propose that pion tetrahedrons, πsup>Tdsup> = usub>dsub>~sup>dũ, play a central role in the Yukawa interaction by enabling quark exchange reactions between protons and neutrons by tunneling through a potential barrier. A vacuum polarization Feynman diagram is proposed for the πsup>Tdsup> having chains of fermion loops for the two valence quarks and anti-quarks connected by gluons. With a higher order vacuum polarization diagram, the d and u quark loops are interleaved and the chiral symmetry is broken dynamically. The proposed πsup>Tdsup> vacuum polarization integral does not diverge in both the IR and UV limits and vanishes in the limit of an infinite pion tetrahedron condensate. We propose a new Delbruck scattering Feynman diagram that includes d and u quark and anti-quark interleaved loops. We further propose that conversion of gravitons to photons may occur via quark and anti-quark loops that describe the pion tetrahedrons dynamics in the vacuum and may also transfer gravitational waves.

non-Uniform Pion Tetrahedron Aether and Electron Tetrahedron Model

We propose that the QCD vacuum pion tetrahedron condensate density vary in space and drops to extremely low values in the Kennan, Barger and Cowie (KBC) void in analogy to earth’s atmospheric density drop with elevation from earth. We propose a formula for the gravitation acceleration based on the non-uniform pion tetrahedron condensate. Gravity may be due to the underlying microscopic attraction between quarks and antiquarks, which are part of the vacuum pion tetrahedron condensate. We propose an electron tetrahedron model, where electrons are comprised of tetraquark tetrahedrons, and . The quarks determine the negative electron charge and the or quarks determine the electron two spin states. The electron tetrahedron may perform a high frequency quark exchange reactions with the pion tetrahedron condensate by tunneling through the condensation gap creating a delocalized electron cloud with a fixed spin. The pion tetrahedron may act as a QCD glue bonding electron pairs in atoms and molecules and protons to neutrons in the nuclei. Conservation of valence quarks and antiquarks is proposed.

Background:Physical activity(PA)is important for cancer *** of remotely delivered interventions are needed to assist in reaching under-served non-metropolitan cancer *** objective of this study was to ascertain whether wearable technology,coupled with health coaching was effective in increasing PA in breast and colorectal cancer survivors living in regional and remote areas in ***:Cancer survivors from 5 states were randomized to intervention and control *** participants were given a Fitbit Charge 2TMand received up to 6 telephone health coaching *** participants received PA print *** assessments at baseline and 12 weeks measured moderate-to-vigorous PA(MVPA),light PA,and sedentary ***:Eighty-seven participants were recruited(age=63±11 years;74(85%)female).There was a significant net improvement in MVPA of 49.8 min/week,favoring the intervention group(95%confidence interval(95%CI):13.6-86.1,p=0.007).There was also a net increase in MVPA bouts of 39.5 min/week(95%CI:11.9-67.1,p=0.005),favoring the intervention *** groups improved light PA and sedentary behavior,but there were no between-group ***:This’s the first study to demonstrate that,when compared to standard practice(i.e.,PA education),a wearable technology intervention coupled with distance-based health coaching,improves MVPA in non-metropolitan cancer *** results display promise for the use of scalable interventions using smart wearable technology in conjunction with phone-based health coaching to foster increased PA in geographically disadvantaged cancer survivors.

The Hunga Tonga Hunga Ha’apai submarine volcano has experienced repeated eruptions in the latest *** recent one,in January 2022,released an enormous amount of energy inducing global perturbations,as tsunamis and atmospheric *** structure of the volcano is poorly understood,especially its internal ***-seated magmatic connections are difficult to define or *** use a high-resolution gravity data set obtained via satellite to calculate the Bouguer anomaly over its structure,to perform a preliminary exploration of its *** 3D gravity inversions,we find a complex plumbing system with various exhaust trajectories and multiple surface pockets of low-density material within the volcanic edifice;some appear to be associated with ring *** is in line with the report of the 2009 eruption,described as beginning from multiple *** found no signs of a magma chamber within 6 km depth,although several volcanic conduits are identified from such depth to the *** variations occur within a plumbing conduit or may vary from one conduit to another in the same *** models yield quantitative estimates for areas of magma-water interaction,constituting a baseline to compare with structural changes to be induced in future eruptions.

Intercalation of Phenylalanine, Isocoumarin and Ochratoxin A (OTA) into LDH’s

Phenylalanine, isocoumarin and Ochratoxin A (OTA) have been intercalated within the interlayer space of layered double hydroxides. synthesis of these nanocompounds was achieved via co-precipitation. Their physicochemical properties were studied by element chemical analysis, powder X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy and thermal analyses. The presence of OTA in the interlayer is demonstrated by the study of LC-FD Analysis. On the other hand, these studies allow to check how some of the toxin is on the surface of the nanocomposite.

Gargantulides B and C,two new and highly complex 52-membered glycosylated macrolactones,were isolated from Amycolatopsis *** CA-230715 during an antibacterial screening *** structures of these giant macrolides were elucidated by 2D nMR spectroscopy and shown to be related to gargantulide A,although containing additional β-glucopyranose and/orα-arabinofuranose monosaccharides separately attached to their *** sequencing allowed the identification of a strikingly large 216 kbp biosynthetic gene cluster,among the largest type Ⅰ PKs clusters described so far,and the proposal of a previously unreported biosynthetic pathway for gargantulides *** absolute configurations of gargantulides B and C were assigned based on a combination of nMR and bioinformatics analysis of ketoreductase and enoylreductase domains within the multimodular type Ⅰ *** addition,the absolute stereochemistry of gargantulide A has now been revised and *** B and C display potent antibacterial activity against a set of drug-resistant Gram-positive bacteria and moderate activity against the clinically relevant Gram-negative pathogen Acinetobacter baumannii.
