Organic electrolyte-gated transistors(OEGTs) have the benefits of low power consumption and large current ***,the electrical performance of n-type OEGTs lags far behind that of p-type *** this study,we design a series of polymers,P(NDITEG-T) and P(NDIMTEG-T),comprising a naphthalene diimide backbone for n-type charge transport and oligo(ethylene glycol)(OEG) side chains for high ionic conductivity and eco-friendly solution *** incorporation of the OEG chain facilitates the electrochemical doping of the semiconductor by ions to realize high-performance,n-type ***,in OEGTs,P(NDITEG-T) achieves a high electron mobility of 1.0 × 10^(-1) cm^(2) V^(-1) s^(-1),which represents the highest value reported for solution-processed,n-type *** is noted that the fabrication of the OEGTs is achieved by solution proces.ing with eco-friendly ethanol/water mixtures.in virtue of the hydrophilic OEG *** work demonstrates the molecular design of the P(NDITEG-T) polymer and its significant ability to produce aqueous-processable,high-performance,and n-type OEGTs.

several studies have demonstrated that human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells can promote neural regeneration following brain injury. However, the therapeutic effects of human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells.in guiding peripheral nerve regeneration remain poorly understood. This study was designed to investigate the effects of human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells on neural regeneration using a rat sciatic nerve crush injury model. Human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells （1 ~ 106） or a PBs control were injected into the crush-injured segment of the sciatic nerve. Four weeks after cell injection, brain-derived neurotrophic factor and tyrosine kinase receptor B mRNA expression at the lesion site was.increased in comparison to control. Furthermore, sciatic function index, Fluoro Gold-labeled neuron counts and axon density were also significantly increased when compared with control. BACKGROUND： Mesenchymal stem cells （MsCs） appear to be a good alternative to schwann cells.in the treatment of peripheral nerve injury. Fetal stem cells, like umbilical cord blood （UCB） and umbilical cord （UC） stem cells, have several advantages over adult stem cells. obJECTIVE： To assess the effects of UC-derived MsCs （UCMsCs） and UCB-derived MsCs （UCBMsCs） in repair of sciatic nerve defects. DEsIGN, TIME AND sETTING： A randomized controlled animal experiment was performed at the laboratory of Department of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, seoul National University Dental Hospital, from July to December 2009. MATERIALs： UCMsCs were provided by the Research Institute of Biotechnology, Dongguk University. UCBMsCs were provided by the Laboratory of stem Cells and Tumor Biology, College of Veterinary Medicine, seoul National University. Dulbecco＇s modified Eagle＇s medium （DMEM） was purchased from Gibco-BRL, UsA. METHODs： seven-week-old sprague-Dawley rats were randomly and evenly divided into three groups： DMEM, UCBMsCs, and UCMsCs. A 10-mm defect in the left sciatic nerve was constructed in all rats. DMEM （15 μL） containing 1×10^6 UCBMsCs or UCMsCs was.injected into the gap between nerve stumps, with the surrounding epineurium as a natural conduit. For the DMEM group, simple DMEM was.injected. MAIN OUTCOME MEAsUREs： At 7 weeks after sciatic nerve dissection, dorsal root ganglia neurons were labeled by fluorogold retrograde labeling. At 8 weeks, electrophysiology and histomorphometry were performed. At 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks after surgery, sciatic nerve function was evaluated using gait analysis. REsULTs： The UCBMsCs group and the UCMsCs group exhibited similar sciatic nerve function and electrophysiological indices, which were better than the DMEM group, as measured by gait analysis （P 〈 0.05）. Fluorogold retrograde labeling of sciatic nerve revealed that the UCBMsCs group demonstrated a higher number of labeled neurons; however, the differences were not significant. His

AIM To provide the overall spectrum of gastrosplenic fistula(GsF) occurring in lymphomas through a systematic review including a patient at our *** A comprehensive literature search was performed in the MEDLINE database to identify studies of GsF occurring in lymphomas. A computerized search of our institutional database was also performed. In all cases, we analyzed the clinicopathologic/radiologic features, treatment and outcome of GsF occurring in lymphomas. REsULTs A literature search identified 25 relevant studies with 26 patients. Our institutional data search added 1 patient. systematic review of the total 27 cases revealed that GsF occurred mainly in diffuse, large B-cell lymphoma(n = 23), but also in diffuse, histiocytic lymphoma(n = 1), Hodgkin's lymphoma(n = 2), and NK/T-cell lymphoma(n = 1, our patient). The common clinical presentations are constitutional symptoms(n = 20) and abdominal pain(n = 17), although acute gastrointes.inal bleeding(n = 6) and infection symptoms due to splenic abscess(n = 3) are also noted. In all patients, computed tomography scanning was very helpful for diagnosing GsF and for evaluating the lymphoma extent. GsF could occur either post-chemotherapy(n = 10) or spontaneously(n = 17). surgical resection has been the most common treatment. Once patients have recovered from the acute illness status after undergoing surgery, their long-term outcome has been favorable. CONCLUsION This systematic review provides an overview of GsF occurring in lymphomas, and will be helpful in making physicians aware of this rare disease entity.

Consumer credit risk analysis plays a significant role in stabilizing a bank＇s.investments and in maximizing its profits. As a large financial institution, Bank of America relies on effective risk analyses to minimize the net credit loss resulting from its credit products （e.g., mortgage and credit card loans）. Due to the size and complexity of the data involved in this process, analysts are facing challenges.in monitoring the data, comparing its geospatial and temporal patterns, and developing appropriate strategies based on the correlation from multiple analysis perspectives. To address these challenges, we present RiskVA, an interactive visual analytics system that is tailored to support credit risk analysis. RiskVA provides.interactive data exploration and correlation, and visually facilitates depictions of market fluctuations and temporal trends for a targeted credit product. When evaluated by analysts from Bank of America, RiskVA was appreciated for its effectiveness.in facilitating the bank＇s risk management.

The electrospraying of water in the cone-jet mode is difficult in practical applications owing to its low throughput and the electrical discharge caused by the high surface tension of water.A film with multiple dielectric micronozzles is essential for multiplexed electrospraying of water in cone-jet mode without electrical ***,a pyramidal micronozzle film with five nozzles was fabricated using the UV-embos.ing *** pyramidal micronozzle film consisted of pyramidal micronozzles,a micropillar array,and an in-plane extractor,which were proposed to minimize wetting and concentrate the electric field to the water meniscus at the tip of the pyramidal *** electrospraying of water using a single pyramidal micronozzle was visualized by a high-speed camera at a flow rate of 0.15–0.50ml/h with voltages of 0.0–2.3 kV,−1.6 kV,and−4.0 kV at the water,guide ring,and collector,*** dis.inct modes,the dripping,s.indle,and cone-jet modes,were observed and dis.inguished according to the motion of the water meniscus at the nozzle *** steady Taylor cone and jet were observed in a voltage range of 1.3–2.0 kV in water,particularly in cone-jet *** electrospraying of water in cone-jet mode at a flow rate of 1.5ml/h was performed using a pyramidal micronozzle film,demonstrating the potential for a high-throughput electrospraying system.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is the sixth most common type of cancer and the third most frequent cause of cancer-related death. Advances.in preoperative assessment of HCC(e.g., imaging studies and liver function tests), surgical techniques, and postoperative care have improved the surgical outcomes and survival of patients who undergo hepatic resection for HCC. However, in the last 20 years, the long-term survival after hepatectomy has remained unsatisfactory owing to the high rates of local recurrence and multicentric occurrence. Anatomical liver resection(AR) was.introduced in the 1980 s. Although several studies have revealed tangible benefits of AR for HCC, these benefits are still debated. Because most HCCs occur in patients with liver cirrhosis and poor hepatic function, there are many factors that affect survival, including the surgical method. Nevertheless, many studies have documented the perioperative and long-term benefits of AR in various conditions. In this article, we review the results of several recently published, well-designed comparative studies of AR, to investigate whether AR provides real benefits on survival outcomes. We also discuss the potential pitfalls associated with this approach.

Application of an Artificial Neural Network for a Direct Estimation of Atmospheric Instability from a Next-Generation Imager

Atmospheric instability information derived from satellites plays an important role in short-term weather forecas.ing, especially the forecas.ing of severe convective storms. For the next generation of weather satellites for Korea＇s multi-purpose geostationary satellite program, a new imaging instrument has been developed. Although this imaging instrument is not de- signed to perform full sounding missions and its capability is limited, its multi-spectral infrared channels provide information on vertical sounding. To take full advantage of the observation data from the much improved spatiotemporal resolution of the imager, the feasibility of an artificial neural network approach for the derivation of the atmospheric instability is.investigated. The multi-layer perceptron model with a feed-forward and back-propagation training algorithm shows quite a sensitive re- sponse to the selection of the training dataset and model architecture. Through an extensive performance test with a carefully selected training dataset of 7197 independent profiles, the model architectures are selected to be 12, 5000, and 0.3 for the number of hidden nodes, number of epochs, and learning rate, respectively. The selected model gives a mean absolute error, RMsE, and correlation coefficient of 330 J kg-1, 420 J kg-1, and 0.9, respectively. The feasibility is further demonstrated via application of the model to real observation data from a similar instrument that has comparable observation channels with the planned imager.
