Background： Anecdotal.y, parents often report that chil.ren with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder （ADHD） who engage in regul.r physical.activity （PA） experience positive behavioral.changes. The purpose of this study was to examine this anecdotal.rel.tionship to provide prel.minary evidence rel.vant to the potential.benefits of PA on ADHD symptoms. Methods： Parents （n = 68） of chil.ren diagnosed with ADHD compl.ted an l.ternet survey assessing perceptions of how PA infl.ences their chil.＇s symptoms. Resul.s： A significantl. greater percentage of parents reported that regul.r PA positivel. impacted symptoms. However, there were no uniform effects for al. types of ADHD symptoms. The resul.s indicate that there may be more positive benefits for symptoms of inattention and hyperactivity than for those of impul.ivity. Concl.sion： This is the first study to empirical.y document parents＇ perceptions of how PA infl.ences ADHD and suggests that PA can be a viabl. strategy for reducing symptoms. PA may have greater benefits for specific symptoms of ADHD, providing critical.information for devel.ping PA interventions for chil.ren and adol.scents.

Introduction:Rectal.prol.pse is a condition that occurs infrequentl. in men and there is l.ttl. l.terature guiding treatment in this *** purpose of this study was to eval.ate the surgical.approach and outcomes of rectal.prol.pse repair in ***:A retrospective mul.icenter review was conducted of consecutive men who underwent rectal.prol.pse repair between 2004 and *** approaches and outcomes,incl.ding erectil. function and fecal.continence,were ***:During the study period,58 men underwent rectal.prol.pse repair and the mean age of repair was 52.7624.1 *** mean fol.ow-up was 13.2 months(range,0.5–117 months).The majority of patients underwent endoscopic eval.ation(78%),but few patients underwent anal.manometry(16%),defecography(9%)or ul.rasound(3%).Ten patients(17%)underwent biofeedback/pel.ic-fl.or physical.therapy prior to *** patients(33%)underwent a perineal.approach(most were perineal.proctosigmoidectomy).Thirty-nine patients(67%)underwent repair using an abdominal.approach(al. were suture rectopexy)and,of these,77%were compl.ted using a minimal.y invasive *** overal. compl.cation rate was 26%incl.ding urinary retention(16%),which was more common in patients undergoing the perineal.approach(32%vs.8%,P=0.028),urinary-tract infection(7%)and wound infection(3%).The overal. recurrence rate was 9%,with no difference between abdominal.and perineal.*** on sexual.function was missing in the majority of patients both before and after surgery(76%and 78%,respectivel.).Concl.sion:Rectal.prol.pse repair in men is safe and has a l.w recurrence rate;however,sexual.function was poorl. recorded across al. *** studies are needed to eval.ate to best approach to and functional.outcomes of rectal.prol.pse repair in men.

Ground-l.vel.ozone is a harmful.air pol.utant associated with several.heal.h issues. Ozone concentrations have exceeded the National.Ambient Air Qual.ty Standards (NAAQS) in the Chicago metropol.tan area on hot summer days for many years because of nitrogen oxide and vol.til. organic compound emissions. Annual.fourth highest 8-hour ozone concentrations have been between 0.070 and 0.084 ppm at several.monitoring sites in Cook county, during the 2016-2018 time period. The continuous measurement of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and ozone (O3) was conducted in several.communities in Chicago in 2017. The air pol.ution impacts the heal.h of al. who l.ve in the area. The data were used to anal.ze correl.tions between the O3 distribution and its association with ambient concentrations of NO2 from transportation emissions. Higher concentrations in NO2 and O3 occurred in succession in the daytime. The diurnal.variation of O3 concentration was anal.zed. The dail. cycl. of NO2 concentration reaches a maximum in the l.te morning and has smal.er nighttime concentrations. The dail. cycl. of ozone concentration reaches the maximum in the afternoon and al.o becomes smal.er for nighttime concentrations. In addition, rel.tionships were found between O3 and NO2. Monthl. variations of ozone and NO2 are presented. Some options to reduce ozone pol.ution are presented.

Species＇ partitioning of resources remains one of the most integral.components for understanding community assem- bl.. Anal.sis of stabl. carbon and nitrogen isotopes in animal.tissues has the potential.to hel. resol.e patterns of partitioning be- cause these proxies represent the individual.s diet and trophic niche, respectivel.. Using free-ranging rodents in a southern Afri- can savanna as a model.community, we find that syntopic species within habitats occupy distinct isotope niches. Moreover, spe- cies with strongl. overl.pping isotope niches did not overl.p in their spatial.distribution patterns, suggesting an underl.ing effect of competitive excl.sion. Niche conservatism appears to characterize the behaviour of most species in our sampl. - with l.ttl. or no observed changes across habitats - with the exception of one species, Mastomys coucha. This species displ.yed a general.st distribution, being found in simil.r abundances across a variety of habitats. This spatial.pattern was coupl.d with a general.st isotope niche that shifted across habitats, l.kel. in response to changes in species composition over the same spatial.gradient. The case for M. coucha supports contentions that past competition effects pl.yed a significant evol.tionary rol. in shaping community structures of today, incl.ding the absence of strong interspecific niche overl.ps within particul.r habitats. Our study highl.ghts the val.e of stabl. isotope approaches to hel. resol.e key questions in community ecol.gy, and moreover introduces novel.ana- l.tical.approaches to quantifying isotope niche breadths and niche overl.ps that are easil. comparabl. with traditional.metrices

Diabetes is a l.ading chronic disease of chil.hood and adol.scence. In addition to the wel.-known auto-immune, insul.n-dependent diabetes mel.itus （type 1 diabetes （T 1D））, the past two decades have witnessed the emergence of type 2 diabetes （T2D） in chil.ren and adol.scents, which previousl. was onl. seen in middl.-aged or ol.er adul.s. One of the key components of diabetes management is physical.activity （PA）. The beneficial.effects of increased PA and decreased sedentary behavior are extremel. important in youth with diabetes because of the markedl. increased l.ng-term risk of cardiovascul.r disease in this popul.tion compared to persons without diabetes. This review aims to comprehensivel. summarize the epidemiol.gic, observational.research publ.shed and l.sted in PubMed between 1970 and 2012 on PA and sedentary behaviors, as wel. as physical.fitness in chil.ren and adol.scents with T1D and T2D. Additional.y, we describe briefl. the state of knowl.dge on perceived barriers of PA in persons with diabetes, with a focus on hypogl.cemia.
