The rapid decrease in Arctic sea ice cover and thickness not only has a linkage with extreme weather in the midlatitudes but also brings more opportunities for Arctic shipping routes and polar resource exploration,both of which motivate us to further understand causes of sea-ice variations and to obtain more accurate estimates of seaice cover in the ***,a novel data-driven method,the causal effect networks algorithm,is applied to identify the direct precursors of September sea-ice extent covering the Northern Sea Route and Transpolar Sea Route at different lead times so that statistical models can be constructed for sea-ice *** whole study area was also divided into two parts:the northern region covered by multiyear ice and the southern region covered by seasonal *** forecast models of September sea-ice extent in the whole study area(TSIE)and southern region(SSIE)at lead times of 1–4 months can explain over 65%and 79%of the variances,respectively,but the forecast skill of sea-ice extent in the northern region(NSIE)is limited at a lead time of 1 *** lead times of 1–4 months,local sea-ice concentration and sea-ice thickness have a larger influence on September TSIE and SSIE than other teleconnection *** the lead time is more than 4 months,the surface meridional wind anomaly from northern Europe in the preceding autumn or early winter is dominant for September TSIE variations but is comparable to thermodynamic factors for NSIE and *** suggest that this study provides a complementary approach for predicting regional sea ice and is helpful in evaluating and improving climate models.

Background:To investigate the effect of adenotonsillec tomy (AT) on bone development,quality of life and polysomnography evaluation in children with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSA).Methods:Preoperative and postoperative (6 months) physical examination,PSG,bone age (BA) and osteocalcin (OC) evaluation were performed on the selected OSA children (n=92) and the healthy children (n=87).The OSA children were also scored based on the OSA 18-item questionnaire.A two-year follow-up was conducted to evaluate BA and OC ***:After AT,81 (88.04%) OSA children recovered completely,eight (8.70%) achieved remarkable improvements,and three (3.26%) achieved moderate *** the OSA children,postoperative OSA 18-item score and the scores of the five domains were significantly higher than preoperative *** with the preoperative,body mass index (BMI),weight for age z-sores,height for age z-sores,weight for height z-sores and BMI z-score in the OSA group 6 months after the operation were significantly increased,but no significant difference was detected between the OSA and the control *** changes of BA and chronological age in the OSA group were significantly different from those in the control *** years after AT,BA between the two groups was no longer significantly *** serum OC in the OSA group was lower than that in the control group,but increased to normal levels 6 months after *** analysis showed serum OC levels were negatively correlated with apnea hyponea index,obstructive apnea index,arousal index,and lowest oxygen ***:After AT,bone growth and development in children with OSA recovered gradually,and the serum OC levels decreased to the normal ***,preventive measures and positive treatments should be applied to minimize the negative effects of OSA in children.

Antibiotic residues,generated by the irrational use of drugs and environmental pollution,have always been a great challenge to aquaculture ***,a quick,convenient,and performance-excellent way to detect antibiotic residues in aquaculture fish is urgently *** this study,a multiplex immunochromatographic strip biosensor based on gold nanoparticles was developed for the simultaneous detection of five classes of antibiotic residues(24β-lactam antibiotics,26 sulfonamides,five tetracyclines,24 quinolones,and four amphenicols)in aquaculture fish within 10 *** detection ranges of five representative antibiotics,penicillin G,sulfamethazine,tetracycline,enrofloxacin,and chloramphenicol,were 2.33–38.4,0.688–17.1,1.4–48.1,1.45–32.9,and 0.537–9.06μg/kg,*** accuracy and stability of these measurements were demonstrated by analyzing spiked fish samples,with recovery rates of 87.5%–115.2%and a coefficient of variationlines,4.9%–145%for quinolones,and 3.2%–100%for *** excellent testing performance of the biosensor strip to most of antibiotic residues in aquaculture fish ensures they meet the maximum residue limits required by countries or ***,this multiplex immunochromatographic strip biosensor is potentially applicable to the rapidly on-site determination of antibiotic residues in aquaculture fish.

The anisotropy of the structure and properties caused by the strong epitaxial growth of grains during laser powder bed fusion(L-PBF)significantly affects the mechanical performance of Inconel 718 alloy components such as turbine *** defects(lack-of-fusion Lo F)in components processed via L-PBF are detrimental to the strength of the *** purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of laser scanning parameters on the epitaxial grain growth and LoF formation in order to obtain the parameter space in which the microstructure is refined and LoF defect is *** temperature field of the molten pool and the epitaxial grain growth are simulated using a multiscale model combining the finite element method with the phase-field *** LoF model is proposed to predict the formation of LoF defects resulting from insufficient melting during *** mitigation and grain-structure control during L-PBF can be realized simultaneously in the *** simulation shows the input laser energy density for the as-deposited structure with fine grains and without LoF defects varied from 55.0–62.5 J·mm^(-3)when the interlayer rotation angle was 0°–90°.The optimized process parameters(laser power of 280 W,scanning speed of 1160 mm·s^(-1),and rotation angle of 67°)were computationally *** these conditions,the average grain size was 7.0μm,and the ultimate tensile strength and yield strength at room temperature were(1111±3)MPa and(820±7)MPa,respectively,which is 8.8%and10.5%higher than those of *** results indicating the proposed multiscale computational approach for predicting grain growth and Lo F defects could allow simultaneous grain-structure control and defect mitigation during L-PBF.

Microstructure and magnetic properties were studied for the commercial Sm(Co FeCuzr)_(z) magnets before and after post annealing *** results show that the phases composition and orientation of the magnet do not change after post annealing treatment,but the substantial redistribution of Cu element within multiscale(the microscale crystal grain and the nanoscale cellular structure) is observed *** detail,along with the Cu redistribution,the thickness of the Cu-rich Sm(Co,Cu)_(5) cell boundary becomes thinner,and the Cu concentration in the boundary increases *** pinning field of domain walls and corresponding coercivity increase remarkably with slight remanence and maximum energy product loss,and the overall magnetic performance of(BH)_(max)(MGOe)+H_(Cj)(kOe)increases by 54.3% as a ***,the thermal stability of the magnet improves as *** the other hand,Cu-lean phenomenon was observed along the grain boundary region,triggering to magnetic domain reversal process and slightly undermining the squareness of the demagnetization curve of the magnet.

Global warming imposes a major threat to plant growth and crop production. In some plants including Arabidopsis thaliana, elevated temperatures induce a series of morphological and developmental adjustments, termed thermomorphogenesis to facilitate plant cooling under high-temperature conditions. Plant thermal response is suppressed by histone variant H2A.z. At warm temperatures, H2A.z is evicted from nucleosomes at thermo-responsive genes, resulting in their expression changes. However, the mechanisms that regulate H2A.z eviction and subsequent transcription changes are largely unknown. Here, we show that the INO80 chromatin remodeling complex (INO80-C) promotes thermomorphogenesis and activates the expression of thermo-responsive and auxin-related genes. INO80-C associates with PHYTOCHROME-INTERACTING FACTOR 4 (PIF4), a potent regulator in thermomorphogenesis, and mediates temperature-induced H2A.z eviction at PIF4 targets. Moreover, INO80-C directly interacts with COMPASS-like and transcription elongation factors to promote active histone modification Histone H3 lysine 4 trimethylation (H3K4me3) and RNA Polymerase II (RNA Pol II) elongation, leading to the thermal induction of transcription. Notably, transcription elongation factors SPT4 and SPT5 are required for the H2A.z eviction at PIF4 targets, suggesting the cooperation of INO80-C and transcription elongation in H2A.z removal. Our results demonstrate that the (PIF4)-(INO80-C)-(COMPASS-like)-(transcription elongator) module controls plant thermal response, and establish a link between H2A.z eviction and active transcription.
