Breast cancer is the most frequent female malignancy worldwide. Current strategies in breast cancer therapy,including classical chemotherapy, hormone therapy, and targeted therapies, are usually associated with chemoresistance and serious adverse effects. Advances in our understanding of changes affecting the interactome in advanced and chemoresistant breast tumors have provided novel therapeutic targets, including, cyclin dependent kinases, mammalian target of rapamycin,Notch, Wnt and Shh. Inhibitors of these molecules recently entered clinical trials in mono- and combination therapy in metastatic and chemo-resistant breast cancers. Anticancer epigenetic drugs, mainly histone deacetylase inhibitors and DNA methyltransferase inhibitors, also entered clinical trials. Because of the complexity and heterogeneity of breast cancer, the future in therapy lies in the application of individualized tailored regimens. Emerging therapeutic targets and the implications for personalized-based therapy development in breast cancer are herein discussed.

Triptych Knowledge—Skills—Payroll and Business Performance: Application of an Operational Model for an Accounting Rating of the Human Capital in the Area of Distribution

The human capital’s accounting could allow companies to better manage the acquired knowledge and the skills developed by the employees when they join the *** operational model,suitable for a business enterprise’s HR manager and validated by its headboard,needs to include the employees’expertise and skills relative to their“cost”for the employer—the wage bill—and an assessment of the commercial *** human capital’s valuation includes methodological ***,the notion of human capital seems hardly understandable as a whole:The human capital gathers nevertheless components,such as knowledge—skills for which a first valuation can be proposed to test an accounting evaluation model for the operational human *** a perspective of a responsible management and a good HR policy,the method used must be able to better manage the knowledge and the competences employees acquired by accompanying them with the appropriate human resource management *** paper aims to show that the accounting valuation of human capital can become a tool in order to manage the knowledge and skills acquired and able to support a company’s human resources policy while being useful to its commercial performance—here in the distribution *** a research-intervention frame led in a responsible group,we use a model based on a triptych—wage bill,knowledge,and skills—to evaluate the human capital’s accounting,with an analytical highlight on the components measurement of the used“knowledge”and“skills”indexes in particular.A reflection on the operational model’s enrichment is proposed.

Integration of Post Abortion Care Package in the Activity of 56 Health Facilities by the Burkina Faso Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (SOGOB)

Introduction: This article is an analysis of post-abortion care in 56 health facilities after their capacity building by the Burkina Faso Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (SOGOB). Patients and Methods: In 2012, with funds from Safe Abortion Action Fund, the SOGOB trained care providers and equipped 56 health facilities for post abortion care. Statistical data on the management of incomplete abortions after the capacity building were analyzed. The significance level was set at 0.05. Results: There were 6316 cases of abortion that have been managed in 56 health facilities. The evacuation of the uterine contents for incomplete abortion has been provided to 6167 patients. Manual vacuum aspiration (MVA) and misoprostol were used respectively in 69.4% and 26.9% of cases to evacuate uterine content. Post-treatment complications were 1.8% for MVA and 0.9% for misoprostol (p = 0.004). MVA’s complication rate in the health facilities of the 1st level of care (1.7%) was not different from the third level of care (1.2%) with p = 0.21. A modern method of contraception was provided after abortion to 65.7% of the patients. In addition to the post abortion care, 7.3% of the patients received other reproductive health services. The community was involved in the development process of post abortion care in the facilities of the first level of care. Conclusion: The support of health facilities by SOGOB has provided post abortion care to thousands of women with little complications. Given the good results, an extension to other health facilities is desirable.

The Bilingual Competence of Local Council Staffers in the Centre and Littoral Regions of Cameroon

This work sets out to appraise the state of individual bilingualism in francophone local councils in *** work checks the use of English by francophone local council workers and of French by their anglophone mates with the focus on the four communicative language skills,i.e.,speaking,reading,writing and *** ethnographic approach to data collection was adopted,and self-rating through a questionnaire was the major tool *** eight-item questionnaire was administered to 192 local council *** were 177(91.14%of 192)francophone workers selected out of a pool of over 500 workers in six local councils situated in two big francophone towns i.e.,Douala and Yaounde on the one hand,and 15(8.85%of 192)out of a total of 16 anglophone workers in these same *** analysis of the data collected revealed that very low percentages of francophone workers could perform the following tasks using English:discuss office issues with their bosses(10.16%of 177 subjects),read out a speech(8.47%),write a letter to their collaborators(4.51%),and listen to someone with understanding(20.33%).Conversely,a high proportion of anglophone workers were able to perform these same tasks using French i.e.,discuss office issues with their bosses(73.33%of 15 subjects),read out a speech(20%),write a letter to a collaborator(33.33%),and listen to someone with understanding(80%).In short,63.28%of 177 francophone workers reported having a low performance in receptive skills in English as opposed to 20%of 15 anglophone workers who said the same for French;similarly,7.34%of 177 francophones claimed to have a good command of productive skills in English as opposed to 53.33%of 15 anglophones who claimed to have a command of *** implications for the study are that official French-English bilingualism in Cameroon is a mere political wish which is not a reality on the field.

A Cross-Sectional Study According to Risk Factors Associated with Erectile Dysfunction in Men

Background: Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a common condition in general population. It has a negative impact on the couple’s quality of life. In 1995, it was estimated that it affected 152 million people worldwide, and that it would affect more than 322 million people in 2025 with a large increase in developing countries. Several studies have suggested a causal link between ED and cardiovascular disease. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, no studies exist on this subject. Nonetheless, we are seeing increased promotion on the management of sexual disorders in our media, which could testify to the extent of this problem. Objective: To assess the extent of cardiovascular risk factors for ED in Kinshasa. Material and Methods: This is a cross-sectional study for analytical purposes. It collected several categories of individuals from May 1 to October 31, 2018. The severity of ED was assessed by the IIEF-5 score and the associated risk factors sought via logistic regression. Results: The mean age of the respondents was 59.9 ± 19.2 years, more than half of the respondents were over the age of 60 years old (60%). The ED proportion was 78.8%, and 75% of respondents had at least moderate ED. This anomaly was significantly elevated among respondents aged over 60 years (94.8%), diabetics (87.5%), hypertensive patients (92.3%) and stroke victims (86%). The independently associated risk factors were: age > 60 years [ORa: 9.87;95% CI: 6.42 - 10.48, p p = 0.013] and the stroke [ORa: 2.1;95% CI: 1.36 - 3.39;p = 0.012%]. The age threshold predicting ED was 67 years. Conclusion: ED is a frequent disorder in our environment and likely to affect the quality of life of men who suffer from it. Understanding the immune responses elicited by SARS-CoV-2 infection is critical in terms of protection against reinfection and,thus,for public health policy and vaccine development for *** this study,using either live SARS-CoV-2 particles or retroviruses pseudotyped with the SARS-CoV-2 S viral surface protein(Spike),we studied the neutralizing antibody(nAb)response in serum samples from a cohort of 140 SARS-CoV-2 qPCR-confirmed infections,including patients with mild symptoms and also more severe forms,including those that required intensive *** show that nAb titers correlated strongly with disease severity and with anti-spike IgG ***,patients from intensive care units exhibited high nAb titers;conversely,patients with milder disease symptoms had heterogeneous nAb titers,and asymptomatic or exclusive outpatient-care patients had no or low *** found that nAb activity in SARS-CoV-2-infected patients displayed a relatively rapid decline after recovery compared to individuals infected with other ***,we found an absence of cross-neutralization between endemic coronaviruses and SARS-CoV-2,indicating that previous infection by human coronaviruses may not generate protective nAbs against ***,we found that the D614G mutation in the spike protein,which has recently been identified as the current major variant in Europe,does not allow neutralization ***,our results contribute to our understanding of the immune correlates of SARS-CoV-2-induced disease,and rapid evaluation of the role of the humoral response in the pathogenesis of SARS-CoV-2 is warranted.

The electronic structure, band gap, density of states of the (8,8), (14,0) and (12,3) single-walled carbon nanotubes by the SIESTA (Spanish Initiative for Electronic Simulations with Thousands of Atoms) method in the framework density-functional theory (DFT) with the generalized gradients approximation (GGA) were studied. Also, we studied the vibrational properties of the (8,8) and (14,0) nanotubes. Only the calculated relaxed geometry for (12,3) nanotube show significant deviations from the ideal rolled graphene sheet configuration. The electronic transition energies of van Hove singularities were studied and compared with previous results. The calculated band structures, density of states and dispersion curves for all tubes were in good agreement with theoretical and experimental results.

Antiradical, Anti-inflammatory and Antifungal Activities of Essential Oils of Two Aromatic Plants： Apium graveolens （Apiaceae） and Thymus vulgaris （Lamiaceae）

The outbreak of oxidative stress, inflammatory diseases and mycoses, constitute an important public health problem. This could be due to the increase of risk factors, side effects and expensive therapeutic molecules available. In the aim to find the potential spring of new therapeutic molecules with efficient and wide spectrum of action, the antiradical, anti-inflammatory and antifungal activities of two essential oils were evaluated. The essential oils were extracted by hydrodistillation. The antiradical activity was evaluated to use DPPH （2,2-diphenyl-l-picrylhydrazyl） scavenging method and the anti-inflammatory activity was determined using the enzymatic method. The disc diffusion and dilution methods were used to evaluate growth inhibition of three yeasts, three moulds and three dermatophytes. The yields of extraction of Apium graveolens and Thymus vulgaris essential oils were 0.14% and 0.32% respectively. These essential oils showed antiradical properties with respective SC50 of 0.41 and 0.06 g/L for Apium graveolens and Thymus vulgaris. Only Thymus vulgaris presented an anti-inflammatory activity with an IC50 of 0.19 g/L. Cryptococcus neoformans was the most susceptible fungal strain while C. albicans was the most resistant one. The results were compared with the standard antifungal. These results show that these essential oils could be exploited as potential spring of molecules endowed with antiradical, anti-inflammatory and antifungal activities.
