Correlates of HIV self-testing among female sex workers in China: implications for expanding HIV screening

Background:Human immunodefciency virus(HIV)self-testing may help improve test uptake among female sex *** has implemented many HIV self-testing programs among men who have sex with men,creating an opportunity for promotion among female sex ***,there is a limited literature on examining HIV selftesting among female sex *** study aimed to examine HIV self-testing experiences and its determinants among female sex workers in ***:A venue-based,cross-sectional study was conducted among Chinese female sex workers in *** completed a survey including social-demographic characteristics,sexual behaviors,and HIV self-testing history,the distribution of which were analyzed using descriptive *** logistic regression was conducted to identify associations with HIV ***:Among 1287 Chinese female sex workers,1072(83.3%,95%confdence interval[CI]81.2-85.3%)had ever tested for HIV,and 103(8.0%,95%CI 6.6-9.6%)had ever used HIV *** than half reported that the selftest was their frst HIV test(59.2%,61/103),around one-ffth reported HIV self-testing results infuenced the price of sex(21.4%,22/103).A minority of individuals reported ever experiencing pressure to undertake HIV self-testing(6.8%,7/103).After adj.sting for covariates,HIV self-testing was positively associated with receiving anal sex in the past month(adj.sted odds ratio[aOR]=2.2,95%CI 1.4-3.5),using drugs before or during sex(aOR=2.8,95%CI 1.8-4.5),inj.cting drugs in the past 6 months(aOR=2.6,95%CI 1.2-6.0),being diagnosed with other sexually transmitted infections(aOR=1.6,95%CI 1.0-2.5),tested for other sexually transmitted infections in the past six months(aOR=3.4,95%CI 2.1-5.5),ever tested in the hospital(aOR=3.4,95%CI 2.0-5.6),and ever tested in the community(aOR=1.5,95%CI 1.2-1.9).Conclusions:Our fndings suggest that HIV self-testing could expand overall HIV testing uptake,increase HIV testing frequency,reach sub-groups o

Grapes are one of the most economically and culturally important crops worldwide,and they have been bred for both winemaking and fresh *** we evaluate patterns of diversity across 33 phenotypes collected over a 17-year period from 580 table and wine grape accessions that belong to one of the world’s largest grape gene banks,the grape germplasm collection of the United States Department of *** find that phenological events throughout the growing season are correlated,and quantify the marked difference in size between table and wine *** pairing publicly available historical phenotype data with genome-wide polymorphism data,we identify large effect loci controlling traits that have been targeted during domestication and breeding,including hermaphroditism,lighter skin pigmentation and muscat *** for larger berries in table grapes was traditionally concentrated in geographic regions where Islam predominates and alcohol was prohibited,whereas wine grapes retained the ancestral smaller size that is more desirable for winemaking in predominantly Christian *** uncover a novel locus with a suggestive association with berry size that harbors a signature of positive selection for larger *** results suggest that religious rules concerning alcohol consumption have had a marked impact on patterns of phenomic and genomic diversity in grapes.

Multi-obj.ctive optimization of process parameters for ultra-narrow gap welding based on Universal Kriging and NSGA Ⅱ

The successful confinement of the arc by the flux band depends on the welding process parameters for achieving single-pass,multi-layer, and ultra-narrow gap welding. The sidewall fusion depth, the width of the heat-affected zone, and the line energy are utilized as comprehensive indications of the quality of the welded j.int. In order to achieve well fusion and reduce the heat input to the base *** welding process characteristics were chosen as the primary determinants, including welding voltage, welding speed, and wire feeding speed. The metamodel of the welding quality index was built by the orthogonal experiments. The metamodel and NSGA-Ⅱ(Non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm Ⅱ) were combined to develop a multi-obj.ctive optimization model of ultra-narrow gap welding process parameters. The results showed that the optimized welding process parameters can increase the sidewall fusion depth, reduce the width of the heataffected zone and the line energy, and to some extent improve the overall quality of the ultra-narrow gap welding process.

Understanding how root systems modulate shoot system phenotypes is a fundamental question in plant biology and will be useful in developing resilient agricultural *** is a common horticultural practice that j.ins the roots(rootstock)of one plant to the shoot(scion)of another,providing an excellent method for investigating how these two organ systems affect each *** this study,we used the French-American hybrid grapevine‘Chambourcin’(Vitis L.)as a model to explore the rootstock–scion *** examined leaf shape,ion concentrations,and gene expression in‘Chambourcin’grown ungrafted as well as grafted to three different rootstocks(‘SO4’,‘1103P’and‘3309C’)across 2 years and three different irrigation *** found that a significant amount of the variation in leaf shape could be explained by the interaction between rootstock and *** ion concentrations,the primary source of variation identified was the position of a leaf in a shoot,although rootstock and rootstock by irrigation interaction also explained a significant amount of variation for most ***,we found rootstock-specific patterns of gene expression in grafted plants when compared to ungrafted ***,our work reveals the subtle and complex effect of grafting on‘Chambourcin’leaf morphology,ionomics,and gene expression.

AIM:To report outcomes on patients undergoing radiofrequency ablation(RFA)for early oesophageal squamous neoplasia from a National ***:A Prospective cohort study from 8 tertiary referral centres in the United *** with squamous high grade dysplasia(HGD)and early squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)confined to the mucosa were *** lesions were removed by endoscopic mucosal resection(EMR)before *** initial RFA treatment,patients were followed up *** flat dysplasia was treated with RFA until complete reversal dysplasia(CR-D)was achieved or progression to invasive Squamous cell cancer defined as infiltration into the submucosa layer or *** main outcome measures were CR-D at 12 mo from start of treatment,long term durability,progression to cancer and adverse ***:Twenty patients with squamous HGD/ESCC completed treatment *** patients(25%)had EMR before starting RFA ***-D was 50%at12 mo with a median of 1 RFA treatment,mean 1.5(range 1-3).Two further patients achieved CR-D with repeat RFA after this *** per cent with CR-D remain dysplasia free at latest biopsy,with median follow up 24 mo(IQR 17-54).Six of 20 patients(30%)progressed to invasive cancer at 1 *** patients(20%)required endoscopic dilatations for symptomatic structuring after *** of these patients have required serial dilatations thereafter for symptomatic dysphagia with a median of 4 dilatations per *** other 2 patients required only a single dilatation to achieve an adequate symptomatic *** patient developed cancer during follow up after end of treatment ***:The role of RFA in these patients re-mains *** our series 50%patients responded at12 *** figures are lower than limited published data.

This qualitative literature review aimed to describe the totality of peer-reviewed scientific evidence from 1990 to 2017 concerning validity of self-reported *** review included articles about mammography containing the words accuracy,validity,specificity,sensitivity,reliability or reproducibility;titles containing self-report,recall or patient reports,and breast or‘mammo’;and references of identified citations focusing on evaluation of 2-year *** 45 publications meeting the eligibility criteria,2 conducted in 1993 and 1995 at health maintenance organisations in Western USA which primarily served highly educated whites provided support for self-reports of mammography over 2 *** concerns about validity of self-reports included(1)telescoping,(2)biased overestimates particularly among black women,(3)failure to distinguish screening and diagnostic mammography,and(4)failure to address episodic versus consistent mammography *** current totality of evidence supports the need for research to reconsider the validity of self-reported mammography data as well as the feasibility of alternative surveillance data sources to achieve the goals of the Healthy People Initiative.
