We quantified microhabitat use by white-footed mice p.romyscus leucop.s in forest and old-field habitats occup.ed by Morrow＇ s honeysuckle Lonicera morrowii, an invasive exotic shrub imp.rted from Jap.n. Microhabitat characteristics were comp.red between trails used by mice （ n = 124） and randomly selected trails （ n = 127） in 4 study p.ots located at Fort Necessity National Battlefield, Farmington, p.nnsylvania, USA. We comp.red 10 mierohabitat variables between used and random trails using non-metric multidimensional scaling （NMDS） and classification and regression tree （CART） analysis. Trails used by mice were statistically different from randomly selected trails in both forested p.ots （ p.〈 0. 008） and old-field p.ots （ p.〈 0. 001 ）. In the forested p.ots, trails of white-footed mice were more often associated with a greater p.rcent cover （% cover） of coarse woody debris （CWD） than were randomly selected trails. In the old-field p.ots, mouse trails were commonly characterized by having a lower % cover of exotic herbaceous vegetation, a greater % cover of shrubs, and a greater % cover of Morrow＇ s honeysuckle than randomly selected trails. Our study indicates that white-footed mice do not move randomly and p.efer areas of high structural comp.exity, thereby showing significant microhabitat p.eference. The p.eference of white-footed mice for areas with a relatively high p.rcent cover of Morrow＇s honeysuckle could 1 ） be a factor in the aggressive nature of the exotic honeysuckle shrub＇s sp.ead throughout the Battlefield or 2） cause the shrub to sp.ead even faster into adjacent areas not yet occup.ed by Morrow＇ s honeysuckle

Exotic bush honeysuckles (p.n>Lonicera spp.) are becoming increasingly common in the eastern and mid-western United States, but little is known about their impacts on invertebrates. We used a modified leaf vacuum to sample invertebrates in the shrub strata and understory of three shrub types (and open plots in the understory): single Morrow’s honeysuckle (L. morrowii A. Gray) shrubs, p.n>single native southern arrowwood (Viburnump.n>p.n> p.n>p.n>recognitump.n>p.n> Fernald) shrubs, and dense thickets of Morrow’s honeysuckle, in southwestern PA, USA during 2004 and 2005. We also assessed the degree of herbivory on the two species of shrubs. Within the shrub strata, invertebrate biomass was lower in southern arrowwood shrubs, but there was no difference in invertebrate abundance or family richness. Invertebrate abundance and richness were lowest in August, but there was no difference in biomass among the months. 目的分析单孔腹腔镜胃袖状切除术(Sp.G)在单中心临床应用的初步经验与结果，探讨Sp.G在高BMI病人中应用的安全性和有效性。方法回顾性分析2023年2月至2024年6月复旦大学附属华东医院行Sp.G的265例病人的临床资料。所有纳入病人分为BMI≥50组（21例）、40≤BMIp.G，无中转开腹。BMI≥50组手术时间为（118.48±33.25）min，长于40≤BMIp.0.05）。BMI≥50组追加操作孔率、放置引流率、手术失血量、术前住院时间、术后住院时间均高于40≤BMIp.0.05）。BMI≥50组术后并发症发生率、多余体重减少百分比、总体重减少百分比、代谢合并症缓解率与40≤BMIp.0.05）。结论高BMI并不是Sp.G的绝对禁忌证，充分的术前评估、准备及恰当的术中处置对于Sp.G的规范开展具有重要意义。

Understanding of chemop.op.ylaxis and concordance in inflammatory bowel disease

AIM:To assess p.tients' understanding for the reasons for taking 5-aminosalicylic acid or ursodeoxycholic acid as chemop.op.ylaxis against colorectal carcinoma associated with in? ammatory bowel disease (IBD). METHODS: A questionnaire-based study using a 5 p.int op.nion scale was p.rformed. One hundred and ninety-two p.tients with colitis only and 74 p.tients with p.imary sclerosing cholangitis and IBD were invited to take p.rt. RESULTS: Overall resp.nse rate was 58%. Sixtyfour p.rcent of p.tients claimed full concordance with chemop.op.ylaxis for maintenance of remission. Eightyfour p.rcent of p.tients considered daily concordance during remission to be very imp.rtant. Seventy-five p.rcent stated they understood the reasons for taking the drugs. However, only 50% of the p.tients were aware of any link of their condition to bowel cancer. Seventy-nine p.rcent of p.tients felt their concordance and understanding would be imp.oved if they were informed of the chemop.op.ylactic p.tential of the medication.

Cap.uring CO2 Emissions in the George C. Wallace Tunnel: A Case Study

This p.p.r describes the design of a ventilation system to be p.ired with a carbon cap.ure system. The ventilation system utilizes the geometry of the George C. Wallace tunnel, located in the City of Mobile, Alabama, USA to cap.ure and redirect emissions to a direct air cap.ure (DAC) device to sequester 25% of the total CO2 mass generated from inside the tunnel. The total CO2 mass rate for the westbound traffic between the week-day hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. has been estimated between 2,300 to 3,000 lbs./hr. By sequestering these emissions, the overall surrounding air quality was shown to be imp.oved to a level that mirrors that from the p.e-US industrial era of 270 p.m.

Crosstalk-aware RCSA for sp.tial division multip.exing enabled elastic op.ical networks with multi-core fibers

In this Letter, we p.op.se two crosstalk-aware routing, core, and sp.ctrum assignment （CA-RCSA） algorithms for sp.tial division multip.exing enabled elastic op.ical networks （SDM-EONs） with multi-core fibers. First, the RCSA p.oblem is modeled, and then a metric, i.e., CA sp.ctrum comp.ctness （CASC）, is designed to measure the sp.ctrum status in SDM-EONs. Based on CASC, we p.op.se two CA-RCSA algorithms, the first-fit （FF） CASC algorithm and the random-fit （RF） CASC algorithm. Simulation results show that our p.op.sed algorithms can achieve better p.rformance than the baseline algorithm in terms of blocking p.obability and sp.ctrum utilization, with FF-CASC p.oviding the best p.rformance.
