Recently the manufacture of epoxy coating and flooring materials begun to be under strong pressure to use more environmentally friendly raw materials in its *** tendency to reduce of solvents and diluents contained in the materials appeared at the end of 90´*** situation was supported by the Council of Europe in 2004 to reduce VOC emissions to zero till *** materials were thus largely replaced by solvent free materials from which the volatile substances are not released into the *** pressure continued to increase,and over the past decade began to take centre stage water-based *** the Czech market solvent based material is still occasionally used,but predominant are solvent free *** are no commonly used materials containing wastes as fillers in new water-borne and solvent-free epoxy *** identification of the waste material as a potential filler is a set of properties that determine the limits of secondary raw materials or waste as a *** paper describes the basic characteristics which must be selected to meet the requirements,to affect negatively the workability,sedimentation,properties and behavior of the final floor *** materials must comply with special requirements,such as resistance to chemicals,*** part of paper talks about utilization of polymer floors and their mechanical properties.

Introduction:Bats are threatened by agricultural intensification,and although bat ecology in agricultural landscapes is in the focus of current research,the effects of interacting spatiotemporal factors on species-specific bat activity above farmland remain *** aim was to identify spatiotemporal factors and their interactions relevant for the activity of bat species above conventionally managed arable ***:We repeatedly monitored relative bat activity above open arable fields in Germany using acoustic *** used site-related biotic and abiotic factors and landscape characteristics across five spatial scales,their combinations,and interactions to identify those factors which best explain variation in bat ***:Numerous interactions between landscape characteristics and the insect abundance affected bat activity above *** instance,Pipistrellus pipistrellus became more active with increasing insect abundance,but only above fields with a low proportion of woody vegetation cover in the ***,the level of bat activity in summer depended on landscape *** example,the activity of Pipistrellus nathusii was relatively low in summer above fields that were surrounded by vegetation patches with a high degree of edge complexity(e.g.,hedgerow).However,the activity remained at a relatively high level and did not differ between seasons above fields that were surrounded by vegetation patches with a low degree of edge complexity(e.g.,roundly shaped forest patch).Conclusions:Our results revealed that landscape characteristics and their interactions with insect abundance affected bat activity above conventionally managed fields and highlighted the opportunistic foraging behavior of *** improve the conditions for bats in agricultural landscapes,we recommend re-establishing landscape heterogeneity to protect aquatic habitats and to increase arthropod availability.

The optimal control of complex thermal energy systems is a challenge due to their dynamic behavior andconstantly changing boundary conditions. To maximize the energy efficiency of such a dynamic system, optimaltrajectories for the controlled variables are needed. Extensive system knowledge is required to model the systemaccurately enough to be able to compute optimal trajectories. The high computational cost of computingoptimal control solutions with traditional approaches, especially with changing boundary conditions, oftenmakes this approach unusable for applications with limited computational power, such as real-time applicationson electronic control units (ECUs). This study investigates a possible solution to this challenge using a simplifiedexample system. Optimal control solutions for different boundary and initial conditions are generated forthe selected solar thermal system using a direct multiple shooting algorithm. Based on Bellman’s optimalityprinciple, the generated solutions are transformed into a data set of optimal state–action pairs. On this basis,different types of neural networks are trained, specifically a feed-forward, a recurrent, and a radial basisfunction network. Thus, data generation and training can be performed offline, and the required online computations are significantly reduced since the evaluation of a trained neural network requires comparatively lowcentral processing unit (CPU) power. The trained neural network controllers are tested for their ability to outputnear-optimal control actions based on the current system state. The feed-forward and recurrent neural networksshow promising initial results in this regard. Open questions and the need for improvements are discussed.

Punica granatum *** a medicinal plant from the Mediterranean,used for treating infectious and inflammatory *** leaves correspond to a non-edible part of the tree that is used for medicinal purposes but still,is a non-explored material for the development of technological food and pharmaceutics products although,it has therapeutic and bioactive *** on this,the current review was carried out by searching for scientific articles written in English,available on the“PubMed”and“ScienceDirect”databases and published in the last ten ***-nine articles were selected whose main study was the leaves of *** and its medicinal use,therapeutic activities,and technological *** its medicinal use,the *** leaves show antioxidant,anti-inflammatory,antimetabolic,anticancer,and antimicrobial *** potential is normally related to the presence of secondary metabolites,mainly phenolic compounds,tannins and their monomers(ellagic acid and gallic acid).Besides that,the lipophilic compounds present in the *** leaves prove to be important to some activities or contribute as support in the activity related to *** the ease of cultivation and adaptation of the species,combined with the potential availability of raw material,reinforces that the leaves of *** may play a relevant role as a source of bioactive compounds and can be exploited for the development of food and pharmaceutical products.

A part of the Earth＇s surface has been formed by the action of running water during geomorphological development. The flow of water is one of the ways of how particles can be eroded, transported and accumulated. If endogenous processes do not work, the surface of the continents would lower to the level close to the ocean surface and the relief would have almost no ruggedness. Recently, there have been talks about the relative classification of deviation of the present state from the ＂original＂ or ＂natural＂ one caused by anthropogeneous effects. The activity of man can manifest itself by pollution, the excessive use of water, a change in the flow regime, and the like. Research into the morphology of the river bottom and the bottom of settling tanks or dam reservoirs is systematically carried out in selected streams and reservoirs by the long-term sampling of bottom sediments. The knowledge of the sediment layer is also important. The EIS method, which was used for measuring, is new for the aforementioned applications. Possibilities of EIS method with new apparatus using for this application were tested in laboratory and in situ. On the basis of interpretation of the electrical conductivity data, a grid of depth data was acquired. These data are characterized by anomalously high and low ＂spots＂ and show morphological changes in the studied area.

Assessment of liver fibrosis in chronic hepatitis C virus(HCV)infection is considered a relevant part of patient care and key for decision *** liver biopsy has been considered the gold standard for staging liver fibrosis,it is an invasive technique and subject to sampling errors and significant intra-and inter-observer *** the last decade,several noninvasive markers were proposed for liver fibrosis diagnosis in chronic HCV infection,with variable *** the clear advantage of being noninvasive,a more objective interpretation of test results may overcome the mentioned intra-and inter-observer variability of liver *** addition,these tests can theoretically offer a more accurate view of fibrogenic events occurring in the entire liver with the advantage of providing frequent fibrosis evaluation without additional ***,in general,these tests show low accuracy in discriminating between intermediate stages of fibrosis and may be influenced by several hepatic and extrahepatic *** methods are either serum markers(usually combined in a mathematical model)or imaging modalities that can be used separately or combined in algorithms to improve *** this review we will discuss the different noninvasive methods that are currently available for the evaluation of liver fibrosis in chronic hepatitis C,their advantages,limitations and application in clinical practice.

Tensile strength and damage of open-cell ceramic foams under cylindrical splitting test

To widen the understanding of tensile failure of reticulated ceramic foams and expand the available mechanical method,a cylindrical splitting test is developed in the present study based on alumina open-cell foams of three different pore *** biaxial method is validated by characterization of mechanical parameters,and the in-situ fracture process is validated by a digital image correlation,followed by a formula correction for effective tensile strength with consideration of discrete crack *** experimental setup curved loading platens,compliant pad and intermediate quasi-static loading rate are proposed for guaranteeing tensile failure under a radial compressive *** strength,fracture energy,and brittleness increase with the foam pore density,and the fracture behavior is a balanced result of materials and foam structural support *** analytical model of splitting tensile strength with structural parameters is derived,which implies its dependence on cell size and critical stress intensity factor of strut materials.
