Dystrophin is a membrane-associated protein responsible for structural stability of the sarcolem-ma in cardiac myocytes and is very sensitive to ischemic *** goal of our study was to determine if ischemic preconditioning could prevent dystrophin breakdown through inhibition of matrix metalloprotein-ase-2(MMP-2)*** rabbit hearts were subjected to global ischemia with or without reperfusion in order to evaluate if dystrophin is preserved by ischemic preconditioning through MMP-2 *** preconditioning significantly reduced the infarct size induced by 30 min of ischemia and 180 min of ***,it also diminished dystrophin proteolysis and attenuated MMP-2 activity after 30 min ***,our study shows a novel protective role of ischemic preconditioning as a mechanism of preservation of plasma membrane integrity by inhibiting MMP-2 activation.

Extensins （EXTs） are highly repetitive plant O-glycoproteins that require several post-translational modifi- cations （PTMs） to become functional in plant cell walls. First, they are hydroxylated on contiguous proline residues; then they are O-glycosylated on hydroxyproline and serine. After secretion into the apoplast, O-glycosylated EXTs form a tridimensional network organized by inter- and intra-Tyr linkages. Recent studies have made significant progress in the identification of the enzymatic machinery required to process EXTs, which includes prolyl 4-hydroxylases, glycosyltransferases, papain-type cysteine endopeptidases, and peroxidases. EXTs are abundant in plant tissues and are particularly important in rapidly expanding root hairs and pollen tubes, which grow in a polar manner. Small changes in EXT PTMs affect fastgrowing cells, although the molecular mechanisms underlying this regulation are unknown. In this review, we highlight recent advances in our understanding of EXT modifications throughout the secretory pathway, EXT assembly in cell walls, and possible sensing mechanisms involving the Catharanthus roseus cell surface sensor receptor-like kinases located at the interface between the apoplast and the cytoplasmic side of the plasma membrane.

Hypoperfusion injury related to blood pressure decrease in acute hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage continues to be a controversial topic. Aggressive treatment is provided with the intent to stop the ongoing bleeding. However, there may be additional factors, including autoregulation and increased intracranial pressure, that may limit this approach. We present here a case of acute hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage, in which aggressive blood pressure management to levels within the normal range led to global cerebral ischemia within multiple border zones. Global cerebral ischemia may be of concern in the management of hypertensive hemorrhage in the presence of premorbid poorly controlled blood pressure and increased intracranial pressure.

Background The positive influence of most types of exercise has been reported repeatedly,but what the most effective exercise approaches are for improving health-related quality of life(HRQoL)in people with cancer remains *** aim of this systematic review and network meta-analysis was to synthesize the evidence from intervention studies to assess the effects of different types of exercise on HRQoL during and after cancer *** MEDLINE,SPORTDiscus,the Cochrane Library,Web of Science,and Scopus were searched for randomized controlled trials aimed at testing the effects of exercise interventions meant to improve HRQoL in people with *** analyses were conducted for HRQoL as measured by general and cancer-specific *** also evaluated whether the effects of exercise were different during and after cancer treatment in both the physical and mental HRQoL *** In total,93 studies involving 7435 people with cancer were *** effect size estimates comparing exercise intervention *** care were significant for combined exercise(0.35,95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.14–0.56)for HRQoL as measured by general questionnaires,and for combined(0.31,95%CI:0.13–0.48),mind–body exercise(0.54,95%CI:0.18–0.89),and walking(0.39,95%CI:0.04–0.74)for HRQoL as measured by cancer-specific *** Exercise programs combining aerobic and resistance training can be recommended to improve HRQoL during and after cancer *** scarcity and heterogeneity of these studies prevents us from making recommendations about other exercise modalities due to insufficient evidence.

Plants contain various factors that transiently interact with subunits or intermediates of the thylakoid multiprotein complexes, promoting their stable association and integration. Hence, assembly factors are essential for chloroplast development and the transition from heterotrophic to phototrophic growth. Snowy cotyledon 2 （SCO2） is a DNAj-like protein involved in thylakoid membrane biogenesis and interacts with the light-harvesting chlorophyll-binding protein LHCBI. In Arabidopsis thaliana, SCO2 function was previ- ously reported to be restricted to cotyledons. Here we show that disruption of SC02 in Lotus japonicus results not only in paler cotyledons but also in variegated true leaves. Furthermore, smaller and pale- green true leaves can also be observed in A. thaliana sco2 （atsco2） mutants under short-day conditions. In both species, SCO2 is required for proper accumulation of PSlI-LHCll complexes. In contrast to other variegated mutants, inhibition of chloroplastic translation strongly affects L. japonicus sco2 mutant devel- opment and fails to suppress their variegated phenotype. Moreover, inactivation of the suppressor of variegation AtClpR1 in the atsco2 background results in an additive double-mutant phenotype with variegated true leaves. Taken together, our results indicate that SCO2 plays a distinct role in PSll assembly or repair and constitutes a novel factor involved in leaf variegation.

This paper analyses the concept of a Limit Set in Parameter Optimal Iterative Learning Control （ILC）. We investigate the existence of stable and unstable parts of Limit Set and demonstrates that they will often exist in practice. This is illustrated via a 2-dimensional example where the convergence of the learning algorithm is analyzed from the error＇s dynamic behaviour. These ideas are extended to the N-dimensional cases by analogy and example.
