Conversion of Fisch.r-Tropsch.wax into h.gh.quality synth.tic crude or finish.d transportation fuels such.as prem.um.diesel h.s been studied over th. past 15 years with.n BP. Catalyst screening and selection was carried out in dedicated m.cro-reactors and pilot plants, wh.se designs are critical to th. perform.nce selection. Variation in catalyst com.osition and defining th. gas to oil feed ratios with.th. operating tem.erature are a few of th. param.ters studied. Product selection and m.xim.zing diesel yield com.ined with.stability （catalyst life） were th. ultim.te drivers. Th. selected catalyst was th.n tested under com.ercial conditions in a dedicated 300 barrel per day dem.nstration plant. Th. products were also tested in engines to assess th.ir com.ustion ch.racteristics.

Th. superplastic beh.vior and associated deform.tion m.ch.nism. of a fine-grained m.-10.1 Li-0.8Al-0.6Zn alloy(LAZ1011)with.a grain size of 3.2μm.prim.rily com.osed of th. BCCβph.se and a sm.ll am.unt of th. h.Pαph.se,were exam.ned in a tem.erature range of 473 K to 623 *** m.crostructural refinem.nt of th.s alloy was ach.eved by em.loying h.gh.ratio differential speed *** best superplasticity was ach.eved at 523 K and at strain rates of 10^(-4)-5×10^(-4)s^(-1),wh.re tensile elongations of 550±600%were *** th. h.ating and h.lding stage of th. tensile sam.les prior to tensile loading,a significant increase in grain size was observed at tem.eratures above 573 ***,it was im.ortant to consider th.s effect wh.n analyzing and understanding th. superplastic deform.tion beh.vior and *** th. investigated strain rate range,th. superplastic flow at low strain rates was governed by lattice diffusion-controlled grain boundary sliding,wh.le at h.gh.strain rates,lattice diffusion-controlled dislocation clim. creep was th. rate-controlling deform.tion *** was concluded th.t solute drag creep is unlikely to *** th. late stages of deform.tion at 523 K,it was observed th.t grain boundary sliding led to th. agglom.ration of th.αph.se,resulting in significant strain *** m.ch.nism.m.ps were constructed forβ-m.-Li alloys in th. form.of 2D and 3D form.ts as a function of strain rate,stress,tem.erature,and grain size,using th. constitutive equations for various deform.tion m.ch.nism. derived based on th. data of th. current tests.
