In this paper,the design and performance analysis of an Inkjetprinted metamaterial loaded monopole antenna is presented for wireless local area network(WLAN)and worldwide interoperability for microwave access(WiMAX)*** proposed metamaterial structure consists of two layers,one is rectangular tuning fork-shaped antenna,and another layer is an inkjet-printed metamaterial *** metamaterial layer is designed using four split-ring resonators(sRR)with an H-shaped inner structure to achieve negative-index metamaterial *** metamaterial structure is fabricated on low-cost photo paper substrate material using a conductive inkbased inkjet printing technique,which achieved dual negative refractive index bands of 2.25–4.25 GHz and 4.3–4.6 *** antenna is designed using a rectangular tuning fork structure to operate at WLAN and WiMAX *** antenna is printed on 30×39×1.27 mm3 Rogers RO3010 substrate,which shows wide impedance bandwidth of 0.75 GHz(2.2 to 2.95 GHz)with 2 dB realized gain at 2.4 *** integrating metamaterial structure,the impedance bandwidth becomes 1.25 GHz(2.33 to 3.58 GHz)with 2.6 dB realized gain at 2.4 *** antenna bandwidth and gain have been increased using developed quad sRR based metasurface by 500 MHz and 0.6 dBi ***,the proposed quad sRR loaded antenna can be used for 2.4 GHz WLAN bands and 2.5 GHz WiMAX *** contribution of this work is to develop a cost-effective inject printed metamaterial to enhance the impedance bandwidth and realized the gain of a WLAN/WiMAX antenna.

Effects of low-temperature oxidation on natural remanent magnetization of Chinese loess

This study systematically investigates changes in both compositions and grain-sizes of magnetic minerals in the Chinese loess/paleosol samples (Yichuan, China) during thermal demagnetization processes. Between 100 and 200℃, (1) Hc and Hcr significantly decrease while Mrs and Ms remain stable; (2) concentration of the multi-domain (md) grains increases while that of superparamagnetic (sP) grains decreases; and (3) there exists the abnormal behavior of the thermal demagnetization in the natural remanent magnetization (NRM). In addition, the corresponding changes in all these parameters are gradually muted with the increase of the pedogenesis degree. The results indicate that the observed alteration probably relates to reducing processes caused by the burning of the organic matter in samples. Before the thermal treatment, the md grains in loess samples had been partially altered in nature by low-temperature oxidization (LTD). Molecular dynamics(md)has served as a powerful tool for designing materials with reduced reliance on laboratory ***,the use of md directly to treat the deformation and failure of materials at the mesoscale is still largely beyond *** this work,we propose a learning framework to extract a peridynamics model as a mesoscale continuum surrogate from md simulated material fracture data ***,we develop a novel coarse-graining method,to automatically handle the material fracture and its corresponding discontinuities in the md displacement data *** by the weighted essentially non-oscillatory(WENO)scheme,the key idea lies at an adaptive procedure to automatically choose the locally smoothest stencil,then reconstruct the coarse-grained material displacement field as the piecewise smooth solutions containing ***,based on the coarse-grained md data,a two-phase optimizationbased learning approach is proposed to infer the optimal peridynamics model with damage *** the first phase,we identify the optimal nonlocal kernel function from the data sets without material damage to capture the material stiffness ***,in the second phase,the material damage criterion is learnt as a smoothed step function from the data with *** a result,a peridynamics surrogate is *** a continuum model,our peridynamics surrogate model can be employed in further prediction tasks with different grid resolutions from training,and hence allows for substantial reductions in computational cost compared with *** illustrate the efficacy of the proposed approach with several numerical tests for the dynamic crack propagation problem in a single-layer *** tests show that the proposed data-driven model is robust and generalizable,in the sense that it is capable of modeling the initialization and growth of fractures under discretization and loading settings that are different from the ones used during training.

We present a mucosal schwann cell hamartoma that was observed in a 63-year-old woman with no personal or family history of interest who underwent a screening colonoscopy for early detection of colon cancer. During colonoscopy, a small polyp with a maximum diameter of 0.8 cm was detected at the rectosigmoid level. Histologically, a benign lesion of neuroid aspect was observed, consisting of multiple spindle cell fascicles that was positive for s-100 and negative for enolase, synaptophysin, CD34, CD117, actin, desmin, Dog1, EMA, and neurofilaments. These findings, supported by the family and personal history of the patient, allowed us to make a diagnosis, discarding other entities.

This paper presents the design guide based on analytical,numerical and experimental investigation of steel-concrete-steel(sCs)sandwich structural members comprising a lightweight concrete core with density ranged from 1300 to 1445 kg/m3 subjected to static,impact and blast *** performance of lightweight sandwich members is also compared with similar members with normal weight concrete core and ultra high strength concrete core(fc=180 MPa).Novel j-hook shear connectors were invented to prevent the separation of face plates from the concrete core under extreme loads and their uses are not restricted by the concrete core *** and punching are the primary modes of failure under static point *** test results show that the sCs sandwich panels with the j-hook connectors are capable of resisting impact load with less damage in comparison than equivalent stiffened steel plate *** tests with 100 kg TNT were performed on sCs sandwich specimens to investigate the key parameters that affect the blast resistance of sCs sandwich *** yield line method is proposed to predict the plastic capacity and post peak large deflection of the sandwich ***,an energy balanced model is developed to analyze the global behavior of sCs sandwich panels subjected to dynamic load.

Cost of biodiesel is primarily because of factors such as the feedstock, production process and materials. Apparently, the final biodiesel product is a bit expensive compared to fossil diesel fuel. While non-food feedstock of high oil content such as Jatropha curcas has been proposed to reduce the cost due to the feedstock, a promising two-step approach of hydro-esterification can possibly offset the production cost for oil resource with high free fatty acids. Most importantly, optimization of the materials and process is expected to reduce wastage, enhance product purity and generate less wastewater. However, optimizing product generation has been dauntingly elusive because several parameters are needed to be considered holistically. In this study, Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was employed to optimize the yield and conversion of Jatropha biodiesel from J. curcas hydrolysate. An optimum Yield and conversion of 96% was achieved for both responses with an optimum temperature value of 60°C, 4 wt% for catalyst loading for 6 hrs reaction time. Findings imply that optimization study of Jatropha curcas hydrolysate for yield and conversion of fatty acid methyl esters using face centered central composite design of Design Expert 6.0.8 can ensure purity of product, conserve energy and reduce waste generation providing a significant frontier in biodiesel pricing.span>span>

Objective： Patients undergoing total gastrectomy for cancer are at risk of malnourishment. The aim of this self- controlled study was to examine the effect of jejunostomy tube feeding （jTF） and other factors on postoperative weight and the incidence of jejunostomy-related complications in patients undergoing total gastrectomy for cancer. Methods： All consecutive patients who underwent total gastrectomy for gastric cancer with jejunostomy plaeement were included from a prospective single-center database （2003-2014）. jejunostomy-related complications and postoperative weight changes were evaluated up to 12 months after surgery. Multivariable linear regression analysis was performed to identify factors associated with weight loss 12 months after gastreetomy. Results： Of 113 patients operated in the study period, 65 received jTF after total gastrectomy for a median duration of 18 d [interquartile range （IQR）, 10-55 d]. jejunostomy-related complieations occurred in 11 （17%） patients, including skin leakage （n=3） and peritoneal leakage （n=2）, luxation （n=3）, occlusion （n=2）, infection （n=l） and torsion （n=l）. In 2 （3%） patients, a reoperation was needed due to jejtmostomy-related complications. The mean preoperative weight of patients was 71.8 kg （100%）, and remained stable during jTF （73.9 kg, 103%, P=0.331）. After jTF was stopped, the mean weight of patients decreased to 64.9 kg （90%） at 12 months after surgery （P〈0.001）. A high preoperative body mass index （BMI）（〉_25 kg/m2） was associated with high postoperative weight loss compared to patients with a low BMI （〈25 kg/m2）（16.3% vs. 8.6%, P=0.016）. Conclusions： jTF can prevent weight loss in the early postoperative phase. However, this is at the prize of possible complications.
