Knowledge-Driven Possibilistic Clustering with Automatic Cluster Elimination

Traditional Fuzzy.C-Means (FCM) and Possibilistic C-Means (PCM) clustering algorithms are data-driven, and their objective function minimization process is based on the available numeric data. Recently. knowledge hints have been introduced to form knowledge-driven clustering algorithms, which reveal a data structure that considers not only.the relationships between data but also the compatibility.with knowledge hints. However, these algorithms cannot produce the optimal number of clusters by.the clustering algorithm itself; they.require the assistance of evaluation indices. Moreover, knowledge hints are usually.used as part of the data structure (directly.replacing some clustering centers), which severely.limits the flexibility.of the algorithm and can lead to knowledge misguidance. To solve this problem, this study.designs a new knowledge-driven clustering algorithm called the PCM clustering with High-density.Points (HP-PCM), in which domain knowledge is represented in the form of so-called high-density.points. First, a new data density.calculation function is proposed. The Density.Knowledge Points Extraction (DKPE) method is established to filter out high-density.points from the dataset to form knowledge hints. Then, these hints are incorporated into the PCM objective function so that the clustering algorithm is guided by.high-density.points to discover the natural data structure. Finally. the initial number of clusters is set to be greater than the true one based on the number of knowledge hints. Then, the HP-PCM algorithm automatically.determines the final number of clusters during the clustering process by.considering the cluster elimination mechanism. Through experimental studies, including some comparative analy.es, the results highlight the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, such as the increased success rate in clustering, the ability.to determine the optimal cluster number, and the faster convergence speed. Background: Phy.ical inactivity.is a major public health problem worldwide that results in phy.ical and mental health problems. One major issue for phy.ical inactivity.is weight stigma (WS), especially.perceived WS, which could lead to a tendency.to avoid phy.ical activity.(PA). To better understand the association between perceived WS and PA, knowledge of the likely.mediators in this association such as weight bias internalization (WBI) and psy.hological distress were investigated in the present study. Methods: Using a two-wave longitudinal study.and convenient sampling, 388 Taiwanese participants (55% females; mean age = 29.7 y.ars [SD ± 6.3]) completed two survey. six months apart. Body.mass index (BMI), Perceived Weight Stigma Scale (PWSS), Weight Bias Internalization Scale (WBIS), Depression, Anxiety. Stress Scale (DASS-21), and Tendency.to Avoid Phy.ical Activity.and Sport Scale (TAPAS) were assessed. Results: A mediation model controlling for age, gender, and BMI with 5000 bootstrapping resamples was performed. Perceived WS exerted significant direct effects on WBI (β = 0.25; p y.hological distress (β = 0.15; p = 0.003), and tendency.to avoid PA (β =0.10;p = 0.027); WBI exerted a significant direct effect on tendency.to avoid PA (β = 0.47; p y.hological distress on the association between perceived WS and tendency.to avoid PA were 0.12 and 0.01, respectively. Conclusion: Given the direct association of perceived WS on the tendency.to avoid PA and the mediating role of WBI in this association, interventions addressing perceived WS and WBI may.contribute to promoting PA. Therefore, health interventionists (both when planning and executing PA programs) need to consider weight stigmawhen encouraging phy.ical activity. © 2024 The Authors.

Influence of ion species on extraction characteristics of mixed ion beams

The spatial distributions of different kinds of ions are usually.not completely.the same in the process of extracting. In order to study.the reason for the different characteristics of ion extraction, a simplified simulation model of Cu+ and Cr+ ions extraction process was established by.2D3V (two-dimensional in space and three-dimensional in velocity.space) particle-in-cell (PIC) method. The effects of different extraction voltages from 0 V to 500 V on the density.distribution of Cu+ and Cr+ ions and the change of plasma emission surface were analy.ed. On the basis of this model, the ion density.distribution characteristics of Cu+ ions mixed with Li+, Mg+, K+, Fe+, y., Ag+, Xe+, Au+, and Pb+ ions respectively.under 200-V extraction voltage are further simulated, and it is revealed that the atomic mass of the ions is the key.reason for different ion density.distributions when different kinds of ions are mixed and extracted, which provides support for further understanding of ion extraction characteristics.

In this study.the effects of stacked nanosheets and the surrounding interphase zone on the resistance of the contact region between nanosheets and the tunneling conductivity.of samples are evaluated with developed equations superior to those previously.*** contact resistance and nanocomposite conductivity.are modeled by.several influencing factors,including stack properties,interphase depth,tunneling size,and contact *** developed model's accuracy.is verified through numerous experimental *** further validate the models and establish correlations between parameters,the effects of all the variables on contact resistance and nanocomposite conductivity.are ***,the contact resistance is primarily.dependent on the poly.er tunnel resistivity.contact area,and tunneling *** dimensions of the graphene nanosheets significantly.influence the conductivity.which ranges from 0 S/m to90 S/*** increased number of nanosheets in stacks and a larger gap between them enhance the nanocomposite's ***,the thicker interphase and smaller tunneling size can lead to higher sample conductivity.due to their optimistic effects on the percolation threshold and network efficacy.

Interfacial stress engineering toward enhancement of ferroelectricity.in Al doped HfO2 thin films

Ferroelectric HfO2 has attracted much attention owing to its superior ferroelectricity.at an ultra-thin thickness and good compatibility.with Si-based complementary.metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) technology. However, the cry.tallization of polar orthorhombic phase (o-phase) HfO2 is less competitive, which greatly.limits the ferroelectricity.of the as-obtained ferroelectric HfO2 thin films. Fortunately. the cry.tallization of o-phase HfO2 can be thermody.amically.modulated via interfacial stress engineering. In this paper, the growth of improved ferroelectric Al doped HfO2 (HfO2:Al) thin films on (111)-oriented Si substrate has been reported. Structural analy.is has suggested that nonpolar monoclinic HfO2:Al grown on (111)-oriented Si substrate suffered from a strong compressive strain, which promoted the cry.tallization of (111)-oriented o-phase HfO2 in the as-grown HfO2:Al thin films. In addition, the in-plane lattice of (111)-oriented Si substrate matches well with that of (111)-oriented o-phase HfO2, which further thermally.stabilizes the o-phase HfO2. Accordingly. an improved ferroelectricity.with a remnant polarization (2P(r)) of 26.7 mu C/cm(2) has been obtained. The results shown in this work provide a simple way.toward the preparation of improved ferroelectric HfO2 thin films.

Reducing kinetic energy.barriers and developing accessible active sites are critical to deliver high hy.rogen evolution reaction(HER)*** this paper,we sy.thesized defect-modulated and heteroatom(boron)-functionalized three-dimensional(3D)bowl-shaped Ti_(3−x)C_(2)T_(y.MXene(B-TCT)nanocavities coupled with the vertical growth of MoSe_(2)*** B-TCT@MoSe_(2)nanohy.rids cataly.t delivers the overpotentials of 49.9,52.7,and 67.8 mV to reach a HER current density.of 10 mA·cm^(−2)under acidic,alkaline,and neutral conditions,*** outstanding HER activity.is predominantly.attributed to the heteroatom functionalization,self-adapting Ti vacancy.VTi)defect modulation,and spatial configuration design in the 3D B-TCT nanocavity.which sy.ergistically.regulate the electronic structure,activate the basal plane/edge unsaturated sites,and reduce the reaction energy.*** and theoretical calculations demonstrate that strong heterogeneous interfacial bonding interactions between B-TCT and MoSe_(2)can dramatically.reduce the free energy.of hy.rogen adsorption and facilitate efficient interfacial charge migration,thus essentially.improving the HER *** used this 3D porous nanohy.rid sy.tem assembled by.defectrich lamellar structures to elucidate the advantageous sy.ergistic effects of multiple mechanisms among defect structure,heteroatom functionalization,and interfacial coupling,which provided important insights for the development of efficient hy.ridty.e cataly.ts.
