AIM: To evaluate the diagnostic value of different indirect methods like biochemical parameters, ultrasound (us) analysis, CT-scan and MRI/MRCP in comparison with endoscopic retrograde cholangiography (ERC), for diagnosis of biliary complications after liver transplantation. METHODS: In 75 patients after liver transplantation, who received ERC due to suspected biliary complications, the result of the cholangiography was compared to the results of indirect imaging methods performed prior to ERC. The cholangiography showed no biliary stenosis (NoST) in 25 patients, AST in 27 and ITBL in 23 patients. RESULTS: Biliary congestion as a result of AST was detected with a sensitivity of 68.4% in us analysis (specificity 91%), of 71% in MRI (specificity 25%) and of 40% in CT (specificity 57.1%). In ITBL, biliary congestion was detected with a sensitivity of 58.8% in the us, 88.9%in MRI and of 83.3% in CT. However, as anastomotic or ischemic stenoses were the underlying cause of biliary congestion, the sensitivity of detection was very low. InMRI detected the dominant stenosis at a correct localization in 22% and CT in 10%, while us failed completely. The biochemical parameters, showed no significant difference in bilirubin (median 5.7; 4,1; 2.5 mg/dL), alkaline phosphatase (median 360; 339; 527 U/L) or gamma glutamyl transferase (median 277; 220; 239 U/L) levels between NoST, AST and ***: Our data confirm that indirect imaging methods to date cannot replace direct cholangiography for diagnosis of post transplant biliary stenoses. However MRI may have the potential to complement or precede imaging by cholangiography. Optimized MRCP-processing might further improve the diagnostic impact of this method.

The novel of COVID-19 disease started in late 2019 making the worldwide governments came across a high number of critical and death cases,beyond constant fear of the collapse in their health *** the beginning of the pandemic,researchers and authorities are mainly concerned with carrying out quantitative studies(modeling and predictions)overcoming the scarcity of tests that lead us to under-reporting *** address these issues,we introduce a Bayesian approach to the SIR model with correction for underreporting in the analysis of COVID-19 cases in *** proposed model was enforced to obtain estimates of important quantities such as the reproductive rate and the average infection period,along with the more likely date when the pandemic peak may *** under-reporting scenarios were considered in the simulation study,showing how impacting is the lack of information in the modeling.

The theory of rhetorical figures in cinema is highly problematic, besides it can be considered as outdated as the semiotic theory of cinema,1 yet it is convenient to reexamine the idea of＂cinematographic metaphor＂ in order to throw some light on the dominant idea of cinema as narrative medium. In this paper we will examine：（l） the supposedly existing metaphor of urban and industrial man as sheep at the beginn!ng of Chaplin＇s film Modern Times; and （2） the sequence of the awakening stone lion in Eisenstein＇s Battleship Potemkin as metaphor of the proletarian revolt against czarism. We will arrive to the notion of a purely metaphoric film, which together with Zavattini＇s ideal film showing 90 minutes in the life of a man to whom nothing happens, will helps us draw some conclusions about montage and narrativity in cinema. Especially interesting in this connection is the fact that symbolical shots as the mentioned ones are like description in literature, that is, they have nothing to do neither with the time of the story nor with the time of the discourse.

The development of ultra-intense and ultra-short light sources is currently a subject of intense research driven by the discovery of novel phenomena in the realm of relativistic optics,such as the production of ultrafast energetic particle and radiation beams for *** has been a long-standing challenge to unite two hitherto distinct classes of light sources:those achieving relativistic intensity and those with pulse durations approaching a single light *** the former class traditionally involves large-scale amplification chains,the latter class places high demand on the spatiotemporal control of the electromagnetic laser ***,we present a light source producing waveformcontrolled 1.5-cycle pulses with a 719 nm central wavelength that can be focused to relativistic intensity at a 1 kHz repetition rate based on nonlinear post-compression in a long hollow-core *** unique capabilities of this source allow us to observe the first experimental indications of light waveform effects in laser wakefield acceleration of relativistic energy electrons.

Located in the middle of the fever to solve the problem of CO_(2)emissions in the environment,CO_(2)sequestration by reaction with epoxides is one of the key tools,as it not only fixes CO_(2),but also makes it functional by leading to cyclic ***,the results are focused specifically on the formation of cyclic organic carbonates catalyzed by metal-salen complexes,previously achieved with yttrium and scandium,that are compared with those of analogous complexes containing metals from the first transition series,such as cobalt or *** functional theory(DFT)calculations allow to determine whether this switch of metals will be feasible and provide the basis for instigating future experimental efforts in this *** calculations analyzing the structure and electronics of the catalysts allow us to give not only a clear picture of whether these catalysts will be efficient,but also allow us to assess which metal center is the most convenient and/or whether the catalytic reaction will occur under mild *** buried volume calculations with the SambVca packages shed light on the different catalytic pockets of monometallic first row transition metals *** III salen *** predictive catalysis results show that the bite O-M-O angle plays an essential role in the catalysis.

Although having five different ways of transmission the vector-borne is the principal way of transmission of Chagas disease, which involves insects of the subfamily Triatominae (Hemiptera: Reduviidae). Nineteen of the 31 species that occur in Mexico are associated with humans, and all are capable of transmitting the disease. Pyrethroids are the insecticides recommended for the control of these vectors in Mexico. We determined the susceptibility to the pyrethroids dcltamethrin and permethrin of peridomestic populations of Triatoma mazzottii usinger and two populations of Triatoma longipetmis usinger in comparison with a reference strain for each species. Bioassays were performed for the determination of the LD50 for both field populations and reference strains. A maximum of 27 fold resistance to deltamethrin was observed in T. mazzottii, meanwhile, for permethrin, T. longipennis from jalisco show the highest value of 3.19 fold. There was significantly increased activity of esterases in field populations in comparison with their corresponding reference strain. The results of the search of kdr mutations related to the resistance to deltamethrin and permethrin in the evaluated species show the presence of mutations in the field populations, as is the case with individuals of T. mazzottii, for which the mutation was found A943V, and for the two populations of T. longipennis included in this study, we report the presence of the kdr mutation K964R. Evaluation of the various mechanisms involved in resistance to pyrethroids in triatomines from Mexico could guide us to the real justification for insecticide resistance monitoring.
