Based on t.e st.dy of Beij.ng PM10 bioreact.vit. wit. t.e newly developed plasmid DNA assay met.od, and analysis for t.ace element. of PM10, t.e cause of plasmid DNA damage by PM10 was invest.gat.d. t.e st.dy showed t.at.plasmid DNA oxidat.ve damages by PM10 are of difference in different.seasons at.various areas. t.e concent.at.ons of t.50 of PM10 in whole samples respect.vely collect.d at.urban and comparison sit.s during wint.r were 900 μg mL?1 and 74 μg mL?1, while t.ose in t.eir corresponding soluble fract.ons were 540 μg mL?1 and 86 μg mL?1. In cont.ast. t.50 cont.nt. of PM10 from summer whole samples at.urban areas and comparison sit.s were 116 μg mL?1 and 210 μg mL?1, whereas t.ose in t.eir soluble fract.ons were 180 μg mL?1 and 306 μg mL?1. t.e difference of bioreact.vit. of Beij.ng PM10 result.d from t.e variat.on of t.ace element.. t.e oxidat.ve damage of plasmid DNA caused by Pb, Zn, As in PM10 (whole sample) was relat.vely st.ong. t.50 and Mn, V, Zn display st.onger correlat.on in t.e soluble fract.on. It.implies t.at.Zn could be t.e maj.r t.ace element.in Beij.ng PM10 which cont.ibut.s t. oxidat.ve damage t. plasmid DNA.

·AIM: t. review exist.ng dat. for t.e prevalence of correct.d, uncorrect.d, and inadequat.ly correct.d refract.ve errors and spect.cle wear in Hungary.·MEt.ODS: Dat. from t.o nat.onwide cross-sect.onal st.dies were analysed. t.e Rapid Assessment.of Avoidable Blindness st.dy collect.d populat.on-based represent.t.ve nat.onal dat. on t.e prevalence of visual impairment.due t. uncorrect.d refract.ve errors and spect.cle coverage in 3523 people aged ≥50y(Group I). t.e Comprehensive Healt. t.st.Program of Hungary provided dat. on t.e use of spect.cles in 80 290 people aged ≥18y(Group Ⅱ).·RESULt.: In Group I, almost.half of t.e survey populat.on showed refract.ve errors for dist.nt.vision, about.10% of which were uncorrect.d(3.2% of all male part.cipant. and 5.0% of females). t.e dist.nce spect.cle coverage was 90.7%(91.9% in males;90.2% in females). t.e proport.on of inadequat. dist.nce spect.cles was found t. be 33.1%. Uncorrect.d presbyopia was found in 15.7% of part.cipant.. In all age groups(Group Ⅱ), 65.4% of females and 56.0% of males used dist.nce spect.cles,and approximat.ly 28.9% of t.ese spect.cles were found t. be inappropriat. for diopt.ic power(wit. 0.5 diopt.es or more). t.e prevalence of inaccurat. dist.nce spect.cles was significant.y higher in older age groups(71y and above) in bot. sexes.·CONCLUSION: According t. t.is populat.on-based dat., uncorrect.d refract.ve errors are not.rare in Hungary. Despit. recent.nat.onal init.at.ves, fur t.er st.ps are required t. reduce uncorrect.d refract.ve errors and associat.d negat.ve effect. on vision, such as avoidable visual impairment.

It.is t.eorized t.at.enhanced t.ermal heat.ng may result.from exposing single-walled carbon nanot.bes （SWNt.） embedded in a conduct.ve host.t. radiofrequency （RF） elect.ic fields. We examine t.e RF-induced （13.56 MHz） heat.ng behaviors of 95% met.llic- and semiconduct.ng-enriched SWNt. （m-/s-SWNt.） suspended in aqueous solut.ons wit. varying NaC1 molarit. （0.001 mM-1 M）. t.e heat.ng effect. were only evident.for host.molarit.es below 1 mM （equivalent.t. 0.1 S/m） at.which t.e s-SWNt.heat.ng rat.s dominat.d t.ose of t.e m-SWNt.. t.e heat.ng effect. were localized t. aligned and aggregat.d ＂SWNt.ropes＂ -1 cm in lengt. t.at.formed in suspension, parallel t. t.e elect.ic-field vect.r, during t.e RF exposure. For molarit.es above 1 mM, no enhancement. were evident. owing t. t.e large heat.ng effect. of t.e bulk ionic NaC1 suspensions, which were observed in previous st.dies. Alt.ough larger enhancement.effect. proport.onal t. t.e host.conduct.vit. have been t.eoret.cally predict.d for m-/s-SWNt.suspensions, t.is was not.observed most.likely because of t.e aggregat.on and screening effect., which diminished t.e scat.ered elect.ic field near t.e m-/s-SWNt.. Our research may furt.er t.e development.of bet.er nanopart.cle heat.ng agent. for applicat.ons such as non-invasive RF-induced cancer hypert.ermia.
